The Boat House is very comfortable and warm, and has everything you will need. It really is a beautiful spot. If you get up early enough, around 6.00am you should see 2 seals on the pontoon as we did. I can't speak highly enough of this place, so much so that I've booked it again for next year. A big thanks to Stephanie the owner for having us, and see you next year..

Loved the large windows overlooking the estuary. The owners were pleasant and very helpful and the cake provided was really good . We really enjoyed our stay here and will return in the future.

  • "We would give the setting and location of the Boathouse 10 out of 10."

Owners friendly - hence we didn't leave any negative comments in the guest book. The house itself, however, was a huge disappointment. Downstairs being just one long room doesn't work - it needs separating doors for the lounge. Other problems were the absence of a toilet upstairs. There is room for one on the landing. Second major fault with the property is the bathroom downstairs. Far, far too small and grubby. Needs extending if possible but, in any event, needs ripping out and a new one installed. There's no point in having a bath if there's insufficient room to lie in it. Better to have a giant walk-in shower. Otherwise, the downstairs bedroom should be made into a bathroom. Bathroom spoiled our stay as no one wanted to go in it! Insufficient seating. The house appears set up to accommodate 6 persons, yet the lounge/dining room/outside table only cater for 4. Small tv in bedrooms would have been nice, & a 2nd tv in the kitchen diner too - though not essential.

Thank you for your feedback following your stay at The Boat House. We are sorry to hear you were not happy with the layout of the house, the photo's on line along with a detailed description explains the layout very well. We would like to reassure future guests that we plan to refurbish the bathroom in January, however it is a fully functional if not slightly dated bathroom in the meantime. We provide additional seating for the dining table, we are sorry to hear you did not find these extra chairs. We feel 1 TV is sufficient for a property of this size. Despite the points raised we are pleased you enjoyed the location of The Boat House. Property Owner

The boathouse itself has everything you’ll need for a relaxing break but the views are what makes it perfect. Sitting in the enclosed garden watching the river flow and listening to the birds and distant sheep, idyllic. Our dogs loved the garden, which is completely enclosed, as there is plenty of grass. The owners are friendly and welcome you with flowers and yummy cake. This is our second visit and hopefully we’ll be back next year.

It is also extremely quiet & peaceful. There is the occasional walker with dog alongside the river when the tide is low; otherwise, you are all to yourselves. Strong recommendation!
