  • "Everything was great except the parking."

The listing implies a dedicated parking space but this isn’t the case as it would have blocked in another vehicle parked in the turning head. The only possible parking space at anytime was in the turning head on the other side of the road and this was only accessible by bumping up over a high kerb which I damaged my car on.

  • "The cottage has an excellent location with stellar views of the Penzance Bay."

The rooms are reasonably spacious (we were four adults and one teenager) and the kitchen has all the equipment one would want. There is nothing better than spending an evening on the panorama window overlooking the bay. As a former council house, it is easy to hear other walking around or talking, so everyone needs a level of tolerance. Otherwise, 10 of 10 points for everything. Also for the location in Newlyn and the ease of arrival and departure.

Thank you for your 10/10 comments but this has never been a council house ! Property Owner

  • "Lovely location."

Very clean but showing signs of wear and tear, eg all the labels have gone from the top of the hob and the surround to the plug hole in the sink was broken, the bath did not drain so plug hole must be blocked, the twin bed was very squeaky, there was a massive stain on the sitting room rug.

  • "Everything excellent ."

Nice home. But with kids it’s bathroom is not comfortable. Apart from that it’s a great.

  • "Location was great, although the hill to get to the property was a small challenge."

It didn’t effect our holiday though in anyway. Would happily return

  • "Property is built into a tier system so far up the hill making walking down/up to the harbour very challenging."

Car essential. Roads to property so narrow!!

  • "Bowjey Terrace isn't on Google Maps, so it might be worth mentioning that it is half way up Bowjey Hill."

Bowjey Hill itself is very steep and if walking out, it may not be suitable for everyone!

About the location

NEWLYN

Penzance 1.2 miles; Marazion 6.6 miles; St Ives 8.9 miles.

Nestled next to Penzance, and although still a quaint town in its own right, Newlyn is actually the third largest fishing port in England, and an important Port of Refuge for all seafaring craft. This Cornish town is clustered around the harbour, with its historic 800 year old quay (the Mayflower actually left for America from this quay, not Plymouth) curling around a few small boats on the western side. Famous for the Newlyn school of Art and Newlyn Copper, the Cornwall Coastal Path passes through the town, as does the level Mousehole to Marazion cycle path. An abundance of wildlife and flora can be enjoyed along both, with basking sharks, dolphins and grey seals often seen. The Cornish coast is renowned for surfing, and Penwith offers some splendid beaches on which to enjoy this sport as well as surf fishing for sea bass. Mounts Bay also offers a wealth of opportunity for watersports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors an opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.
