  • "The cottage was cosy and well equipped."

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would stay there again. It was in a peaceful location and was handy for the bus into Penzance.

  • "Hi , we thought you property was excellent, although there was three minor snags."

The coal fire did not have any starters, so we couldn't have the wood burner and when we had a shower it had a minor leak downstairs and because I'm disabled, from the car park to the property it was around 300 yards, which I'd felt, with my bags was quite a distance away and a difficult journey.

  • "Fabulous little cottage."

Small but really comfortable and beautifully decorated. Beds are very comfortable and everything you need is there. Loved our stay. We managed to park every day at the public carpark a few minutes walk away, but our stay was out of season. Great place to stay to explore this part of Cornwall. So nice to find such a lovely place that allows dogs.

  • "The cottage was comfortable, clean and provided all you are likely to need."

The stairs are steep with narrow treads and high risers but you get used to them. The only difficulty was parking but this was the case throughout Newlyn.

  • "Holiday cottage was small and expensive for what it was."

It was well equipped but parking was not a problem it was a nightmare and spoiled our holiday.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry that you did not enjoy your time at Bodilys cottage, the pricing of the property is shown prior to booking so I am sorry you felt it was expensive. Parking at the property is advertised as a first come first served basis and due to the time of the year parking can be quite difficult throughout the town outside of the car parks available. • "Beautiful cottage, very clean and homely, nice touches of tea, coffee, milk and local biscuits on arrival, i would definitely stay here again, great location as well."

  • "This cottage is comfortable, convenient and ideal for 2 people."

We feel guests should be advised of the parking situation before their stay as the council car park nearby was usually full and there is no on street parking. We learned from the Harbour Masters’ office that there were 2 paid options - one 5 minutes downhill and the other (cheaper) 10 minutes away. We appreciated the little touches such as toiletries, milk and Cornish biscuits. Rosemary and Douglas Marcuse

  • "The only drawback was parking."

We ended up parking a mile away and walking, which for us was not a problem. The car park had a number of permit based spaces which were empty. Maybe it would be possible to purchase one space for the cottage.

  • "We had a fantastic holiday in Bodilly’s cottage."

You could tell that a lot of thought and care had gone into the furnishings to make for a very comfortable stay. The kitchen was extremely well equipped - especially for any coffee lovers (thanks to the multiple coffee makers). It was also a treat to have a real fire at the end of a long day outside on the fresh air.

About the location

NEWLYN

Penzance 1.2 miles; Marazion 6.6 miles; St Ives 8.9 miles.

Nestled next to Penzance, and although still a quaint town in its own right, Newlyn is actually the third largest fishing port in England, and an important Port of Refuge for all seafaring craft. This Cornish town is clustered around the harbour, with its historic 800 year old quay (the Mayflower actually left for America from this quay, not Plymouth) curling around a few small boats on the western side. Famous for the Newlyn school of Art and Newlyn Copper, the Cornwall Coastal Path passes through the town, as does the level Mousehole to Marazion cycle path. An abundance of wildlife and flora can be enjoyed along both, with basking sharks, dolphins and grey seals often seen. The Cornish coast is renowned for surfing, and Penwith offers some splendid beaches on which to enjoy this sport as well as surf fishing for sea bass. Mounts Bay also offers a wealth of opportunity for watersports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors an opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.
