  • "Really nice property."

Centrally located. Did loose tv signal, it was fixed the same day as reported. Clean, modern, more than enough room for our party of 8. Parked 3 cars on drive. Garden good size with a barbecue. Different levels in the garden, so need to watch toddlers. Visited Newquay zoo and crazy golf (worth a visit), just a short walk from property. Choice of beaches a short walk. Large range of shops again a short walk away. Train station walking distance.

  • "This is the second time we have stayed at Beaches."

The showers are to die for after a hard days work. The sofa is so comfy you struggle to get out of it. All the rooms have everything you need. They also left us extra keys to use which was great. We hope to be back half term next year. Matt

Thank you for your kind review, we had three extra front door keys cut so there are now four sets. We look forward to welcoming you back for a third visit next year! Property Owner

  • "Large house, good size rooms, brilliant location."

The house however smells of damp and clothing hung in two bedrooms were physically damp despite us having the heating on. The house smelt damp from the moment you walk in. We have seen the reviews saying the same and previous comments from the owners to state it has been tested and all ok.

Many thanks for your feedback and we noted your comments regarding the damp smell in the property. We therefore had a survey carried out, as it appeared the damp smell was occurring after rainfall in the area. The survey suggested there was a leak in the chimney breast caused by the flashing damage between the chimney breast and roof. Also a couple of roof tiles had been dislodged following high winds. We have therefore had these repairs carried out and also fitted insulation in the roof void to prevent possible condensation. It was also suggested that the lack of airflow (ventilation) in the two front bedrooms you refer to was contributing to the dampness/condensation. We have therefore installed a DRI-ECO-HC airflow unit in the roof space which greatly increases the airflow and therefore eliminates dampness and condensation, this unit operates very quietly in the background without you knowing it’s there. It also greatly improves the air quality within the property and therefore keeps natural occurring allergens and pollutants to an absolute minimum (excellent for hay fever and as a sufferers). All the above work was carried out during the 2022/23 winter season and we now look forward to welcoming guests for the 2023 summer season. Many thanks, Andy & Angela Property Owner

  • "Fabulous bungalow very well equipped and extremely comfortable beds."

Some of the lights need attention working intermittently. The curtains in the front bedrooms need attention. I Would have appreciated more door keys, one between four families proved problematic . Would love to stay there again and would definitely recommend this bungalow to anyone.

Many thanks for your review and we have taken on board all your comments. The intermittent lights your refer to were faulty due to a faulty switch which has been replaced and they now work fine. We have replaced the curtains heading design from a ‘goblet’ to a ‘pinch pleat’ format as recommended by a local curtain maker and this has resolved the issue you have highlighted. We have had three extra keys cut and therefore there are now four sets. We hope to now welcome you back to ‘Beaches’ sometime in the future! Kind Regards, Andy & Angela Property Owner

You have a lovely holiday home

Many thanks for your feedback and glad to hear you had an enjoyable stay. The decking area outside the patio doors which had the damage you refer to, has now been replaced with new decking and painted. The other two areas of decking (outside the back bedroom and behind the garage) have been repainted. The mould issues you refer to have also been addressed and the details of the work carried out to rectify this are shown on our response to a later review in October 2022. Property Owner

  • "There was a strong smell and feeling of damp throughout the whole property during the entire week."

There is black mold on the front facing wall of the main bedroom.

Many thanks for your feedback regarding your stay at beaches. Sorry to hear that you experienced a feeling and smell of damp during your one week (you stated two weeks) stay. As we have not received any other guests feedback experiencing this (including guests staying after your stay), we have had the humidity levels checked independently in the property and can confirm the levels are normal and no smell/feeling of damp was reported. But be assured, will will monitor this on an ongoing basis. With regards the mold on the front wall, this has now been addressed with our cleaners and it will be removed. Again, we will monitor this on an ongoing basis. NOTE! Added comment March 2023…. Just to let you know we did receive a further report/feedback of damp in October 2022 and as a result, had a survey report and subsequently had work carried out to resolve the issues you referred to, the details of this work are provided in the response to the October 2022 feedback review. • "We had a great stay at The Beaches."

Perfect location for the beach which we visited most days. Just a couple of items to mention, mould in the corner of the front bedroom, the decking was weak in places and would have benefited with a sweeping brush, Tv reception wasn’t great. Having said that we would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Many thanks for your feedback and we can confirm we have acted upon the issues you have raised. The mould in the front bedroom was caused by poor ventilation and a leak to the roof which have now been addressed and details of the work carried out can be seen in our reply to a later review in October 2023. The decking you refer to has now been replaced. The TV reception issue you refer to has been rectified. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to’Beaches’ sometime in the future! Lovely house great location unfortunately it smelt of damp & there was damp in the front bedroom, also stairs to 1st floor are very dangerous, would of been nice to have had a magnifying mirror, loved the decor & beds comfortable

Thank you for your feedback and we can confirm the damp issues you refer to have been addressed and a list of the work carried out can be seen in our response to the October 2022 review. We have now replaced the saucepans you refer to. With regards the stairs to the attic room, whilst these are a slightly steeper incline to normal stairs, they do conform to current building regulations and are typical of stairs you would see for attic bedrooms. • "There was a problem with the main en suite bathrooms doors as my partner got locked in there."

There was mould on the skirting board in the main big bedroom by the bed. Our check in time was changed to allow for extra time to clean and it was dusty everywhere like all they worried about was hoovering and mopping the floor. Could do with a new sofa in the living room cause when you sit on it all you can feel is the frame.

Thank for you for taking the time to leave feedback following your stay, we have followed up on your comments and put new measures in place, we have added clear instructions on how to use the locks in the bathroom and have since changed our cleaners. • "Not criticism."

General niggles. The cleaners didn't finish till 5pm. Had to call out caretaker. Electrition came Monday to sort problem. No instructions on how to use cooker hob.. wider saucepan base needed. Instructions on pull cord to lock doors in main bathroom would have been helpful. Overall. House was marvellous once the above probs sorted. Good holiday enjoyed by all.

Thank you for your feedback and sorry to hear you encountered some minor issues during your stay. I am sorry you were not made aware of the new (post Covid) check in time of 5pm; this was due to a communication error but all future customers have now been made aware. The cooker hob is an induction hob so just needs an appropriate pan to use it (any size is fine if correct type as it just needs to be on the hob for it to work as a safety feature). The instructions were in the drawer but we have asked our cleaner to leave these out now in a more prominent position. We will also ask her to leave a clear sign near to the Jack and Jill bathroom doors to explain the locking mechanism more clearly. We are so pleased you have a lovely time otherwise and enjoyed your stay in this beautiful area. Property Owner

The fifth bedroom (twin beds) can be found on the first floor and is an ideal ‘hideaway’ bedroom for the kids, but also, as it is very spacious, is suitable for adults.

This room has no ensuite but has use of the main bathroom.
