  • "This holiday let is in a fabulous position."

On reading the reviews it was accurate in many ways. The view was spectacular, the fact that it was so quiet yet on a busy street was lovely. The facilities provided at the place were very good. There were even binoculars to watch the boats, which was great. However, the beds in the single bed room were a little lumpy, though the big bed in the main room was fine. The big issue was that the place was "grubby". This was despite notices in the place about Covid19 and our need to wipe surfaces etc. The reminded came by text at the end of the week about following Covid guidelines. No problem. But the accommodation basically needed a "deep clean". The sinks and loo were fine and clearly had been cleaned. But the 1st thing I noticed was the filthy bathroom mirror in the main bedroom en-suite. Then the thick layer of dust on the top of the headboard. There was a thick layer of dust on the cooker hood that you could write your name in, and although surfaces in the kitchen looked as though they were wiped, there were finger marks and smears over the doors and sides of the upper and lower cupboards. I feel there needs to be a proper maintenance schedule. I understand weeds grow quite quickly, but the many on the balcony seemed they'd been around for some time. And to enjoy the view, it's a shame to have to see past the mucky finger marks and grime on the windows. Surely a window cleaner could be available on changeover day? Also one of the glass plates on the balcony edge has dropped from it's fitting. It was such a shame as premium prices are being charged for this place, it was gorgeous in many ways, but we have never come across this lack of cleanliness in any accommodation we have stayed in previously.

  • "This apartment did not disappoint, so much bigger than the photos look and the view is even better when your actually stood on the balcony looking at it."

We came with out two children aged 4 & 11 and they were so comfortable, it had everything we needed especially down to beach buckets/ games and accessories… the only thing was the hoover smelt when we switched it on which with two kids was every day

  • "It really is just a wonderful property."

Stunning overlooking the beach, we slept so well all week just with the french doors open listening to the waves! It’s like home from home! The kids loved it and the bedrooms were both lovely! Couldn’t fault it. We found parking 10 minutes away but it didn’t inconvenience us as we parked on Aldi when unpacking and packing and the walk to the car was nice so we found it a great way to start our day if we drove out for the day! Parking in central Newquay is always tricky so to have the property in such a good location was a bonus to not having to mess around finding parking daily. Worth every penny, we feel refreshed with our week’s stay and would return in a heartbeat!

  • "We had a lovely stay at Buena Vista, the view was amazing and the central location made everything very accessible."

The accommodation was well equipped, clean and a perfect size for a comfortable stay (family of 4). There was no designated parking available, however Denise (house keeper) was very helpful when we arrived to ensure we found adequate parking. The kids absolutely loved the surfing and we are looking forward to our next trip

Fantastic views, could have sat there all day! The only down sides was the parking, bit of a nightmare! Also sun loungers would have been nice. Apart from that we had a lovely time and would definitely go back

  • "Lovely apartment, exactly as expected and the hosts were responsive to any queries and gave all the information required for a very pleasant stay."

We don't normally like going to the same place twice but this is one of the few places we would seriously consider coming back to.

  • "Stunning location and perfectly situated for our needs."

Denise the housekeeper is very helpful and friendly. The property was very clean and comfortable. One thing I would recommend is a heated clothes airer as there is nowhere to dry clothes. We have stayed in other properties that use these and they are really useful. Everything else is brilliant. We are returning next year-I think that speaks for it's self!

  • "This property is deceiving - you arrive in the middle of a busy shopping street and you wonder how on earth the apartment can be anything like the photos on the website, but it’s so much better!"

This place exceeded our expectations. Great Housekeeper too, who resolved any issues we had really promptly. I’d highly recommend this place :)

  • "This place has stunning views, is massive, clean and newly decorated/refurbished inside the apartment."

Pros: views (10 out of 10), direct access to beach and loads of Newquay bars and restaurants, apartment size, super clean, no noise at night, comfortable beds, really good amenities inside with extras, great Comms with owners, easy access, closeness to train station and supermarkets. Cons: no real BBQ despite listing (suggest an outdoor electric smokeless one if neighbour issue), no designated parking - but managed to find free on street parking after search. Also, easy ones, shower mats need changing as slippery on tiles and some minor weeding on patio. Would use again and highly recommend, 9.5 out of 10. Need BBQ though.

The accommodation was comfortable and stylish with spectacular views across the bay and beyond. Door to beach was a 5 minute walk, all surrounded by local amenities, everything easy. Great to be sat on the terrace with a coffee watching the tides change and world go by, timeless....

Absolutely great for soaking up some sun or for enjoying spectacular sun sets. And it’s so quiet. No road noise. Just the sounds of sea and gulls to greet you in the morning. The apartment is spacious, well equipped and ideally located. Already want to go back and only got home yesterday

  • "Spacious apartment with great view, situated very close to railway station and several supermarkets and restaurants."

Easy walking distance to Zoo, Beaches and Town centre. Apartment is comfortable with great sea view in any weather. Note: Property doesn't have microwave or sunshade on patio. Refuse collection day doesn't match changeover day, so had to move large amount of previous occupiers waste from cupboard to kerbside (this may be troublesome for weaker persons to do?).

"Thanks for your feedback, we have now put a microwave in the property, we really appreciate any suggestions to make your holiday even more comfortable. We wish to apologise that you found rubbish in the surf cupboard at the property. This was an oversight as our guests are never expected to have to remove rubbish themselves. Property Owner

  • "So let’s start off by saying that this is an amazing holiday and a superb apartment, I just want to get out the way the minor negative things about it, parking is a bit of a nightmare but this was expected, there isn’t a microwave (would have be nice, especially if you have kids to heat up milk and food etc) and the patio could of been a bit cleaner (needed to be weeded)."

Now don’t let those minor things put you off as this place was STUNNING! The view from the balcony is out of this world, I’m not one for sitting there and admiring views but I found myself daily just sitting there watching the sea and admiring the stunning views! You are local to a lot of things, shops, restaurants, amusements, beach etc which is ideal! The sofas are ideal for a nap and comfy as hell! Bed is also perfect and they have good pillows! Overall this place is one of the best we have stayed in! The minor downfalls can be forgiven for the pluses this place has to offer!

  • "I chose this apartment because of the view and it did not disappoint."

The light and sun poured in making it a very pleasant experience. Everything was clean and modern which is how I prefer holiday accommodation. The only thing I would add, and this is probably not relevant to everyone and that is the late check in time. Because we were flying we arrived with suitcases before noon and were at a loss as to what to do. The information centre offered storage at a cost. We did miss having a microwave as there were so many ready meals on the doorstep (Aldi, next door), but we managed fine with the cooker.

Beautiful bedrooms and the view is just stunning. Good size fully equipped kitchen, few steps from supermarket, restaurant and shops. Although it is on the main road you can’t hear any noises except for the sea. I travel a lot but by far this was the best place to stay. Also big thank you to Denise who was looking after us

  • "What a wonderful week at Buena Vista."

The property is lovely and the view, simply stunning. The apartment is so well maintained, very clean and modern. It feels like a genuine home from home. Little things really make it such as bath sheets instead of little towels, a laundry basket and a really well equipped kitchen. The communication with the housekeeper was brilliant, she’s really friendly and helpful. Overall, I can’t recommend this property highly enough, I’m really looking forward to booking a return visit.

  • "Wonderful apartment with a stunning view of the beach which I would never tire of."

Being on the high street was very handy, but the apartment is set a long way back from the traffic so you never hear anything but the beach. As per another review it can be quite stuffy if there is no breeze or the balcony doors are closed, so we recommend a couple of portable fans. Our 3 and 6 year olds loved it. The owner has also provided body boards, wet suits etc which really helped. Parking at the station opposite cost us about £50 for the week. Easy access on foot to the beach and a short walk to the zoo etc. I would highly recommend staying. Wonderful.

  • "Firstly the apartment was as advertised in the Sykes web page."

What we didn't appreciate until we got there is the lack of ventilation and clean fresh air. The apartment has two french doors only for ventilation, no actual windows that open. This is fine during the day when you can have the doors open, but is no good at night. We stayed in June and it wasn't hot, but still the accommodation is stuffy and warm. I can only imagine what it would be like if it was hot. There are expelair units in the bathrooms and the second bedroom, but these only remove stale air but there is no fresh air coming into the apartment at night with the french doors closed. This apartment needs some kind of air conditioning. Also the kitchen units have been badly fitted. The pelmet that sits underneath the floor units kept falling down on both sides. The apartment on first glance gave the impression of cleanliness but as you looked closer the it was obvious that the apartment hadn't been cleaned very well. On a positive note the apartment was well laid out and ideal for two couples staying and the view is spectacular. Also the apartment is in an ideal situation for the beach and plenty of shops etc. Overall we did enjoy our holiday but I do believe that in July and August anyone staying there will struggle with the ventilation. ****** I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and the spectacular views at Buena Vista. Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate your comments regarding the ventilation. We are currently in the process of supplying an air-con unit. I was surprised to read your comments regarding cleanliness as it is a new flat and our housekeeper is excellent. We make every effort to ensure the apartment is cleaned to the highest standards and will continue to do so.
