  • "Our stay has been great, however we have felt that there are some issues that cannot go unmentioned in the hope that it is constructive and allows forward progress."

Some of the issues cannot be resolved but we feel that they are better to be mentioned. On arrival, in the dark, wet, cold and snow we found the drive to steep for us to see any appropriate parking space. We parked in a space( not the correct one) and attempted to find the keys: What can we say!! In a dark shed, leaning across a smelly bin we were supposed to read and correctly identify the numbers. We decided at this point NEVER TO RETURN. Our first impression was not good. Once inside our apartment we were pleasantly surprised. We found everything clean and tidy and a big bin with a bag in it ready for our rubbish. Nothing anywhere informed us that there was differentiated recycling in place. This was found once we had filled our first bag. What a nightmare!!! Perhaps a laminated sheet attached to the wall above the bin would have helped to start in the correct manner. We found the cold water sink tap in the main bathroom to be not tightened so it just swivels . The shower in the master bedroom was extremely stiff to turn on. Finally on our last full day then scaffolding arrived at 8.30Am having woken us up to move our car. We were surprised as this had not been mentioned at any point throughout the booking process or our stay. Hope you find these comments constructive as they are meant to help. Yours Sue Vincent

It’s like home from home. I’ve been going to Newquay since a child and then with my children and although grown up now they still love to come with us to this apartment overlooking amazing views. It’s roomy and well equipped and always clean and homely. We’ve already rebooked for next year.

  • "Excellent property and location."

It was everything we expected and more. The easy walk into Newquay was a bonus and short dog walks to the harbour became an early morning routine. The allocation of parking is a good idea, but the gradient and spaces were a daily challenge. Removing the old tree stump should be considered. Great holiday overall

However the bathroom, and ensuite lights were not good. Neither of the shaving lights were working fully, and the main bathroom light takes time to come on. Apart from that everything was lovely. Thanks

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad to hear you had a nice stay at By The Sea. We are sorry to hear about the lights and will look into this. We hope to see you back again soon. Property Owner

The views over to Rowan beaches are stunning, the only downside for us was although states dog friendly it's not really there are no gardens they are allowed on and no secure enclosed place for a dog, So will probably not book again, but anybody wanting to stay with out a dog, it's perfect

It was a delight to wake and sit with a tea to look out over the harbour. A very well kept apartment with everything you could wish for. We didn't need to use our car for a whole week.... Easy to get supplies from Sainsbury's. Fistral was a quick and easy stroll. Lots of activities right on our doorstep.

Only issue this time was the ensuite wasn’t cleaned properly and the spare bed bedding wasn’t changed

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback, we are pleased to hear that you love the apartment. We are sorry to hear that you felt the en-suite had not been cleaned, we can assure that it had, but we do plan to replace the grouting during the next maintenance period. We change the bed linen on each changeover, so are puzzled by this comment. If you had contacted us via the numbers left at the property, we would have been happy to attend and resolve any issues you may have had during your stay. Property Owner

  • "The property was convenient for all of the facilities in Newquay."

But the property itself was quite tired-both toilet seats were broken, the bathroom extractor fan didn't work, kitchen appliance controls ( hob and dishwasher) were broken, the lounge carpet was badly stained in places, and there was a lot of noise from adjoining apartments. We also found the beds far too soft( a personal opinion)

  • "We had a wonderful stay at 'By The Sea' in Newquay."

Just what our family needed after COVID19 lockdown! The location of the apartment is perfect. It is situated on the cliff tops in between the town, the Harbour and Fistral Beach. We parked our car and didn't use it for the whole stay! There is a sea view from the apartment from a shared balcony area, over the bay which is lovely. The apartment had everything we needed and was very well kept. The neighbours were very welcoming. We comfortably walked to the beach every day with our children, our dog and all our beach equipment, then enjoyed the cliff top walks to Little Fistral to see the sunsets on an evening or to sit by the Harbour and enjoy the street food. We loved it that much we have booked to return next year. Thank you

  • "We felt led to book this apartment as my wife and myself were independently searching and found the same place at the same week."

We were not disappointed at all with our decision. The apartment was warm and welcoming with lovely views and located in an ideal position for the beautiful Newquay beaches and walks, while the town was in easy walking distance without being affected by the famous nightlife. The apartment was well equipped and the Covid precautions were well documented and the required cleaning equipment supplied. We had a text to advise us that the place was ready earlier than the 5.00 arrival time - the only problem being that the previous tenant hadn’t returned the keys. This was quickly sorted. To complete the picture, we were also blessed with beautiful weather and perfect tides allowing us to take full advantage of the beaches. We fully understood the need not to allow dogs in the small garden, but this was not a problem with the coast path being only a few yards away from the front door. We have thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Newquay for some time and will be looking to return sometime next year.

  • "Beautiful and comfortable flat."

Very clean and a cream tea waited for us in the fridge. Wonderful. The photo from the flat show s a wonderful sea view overlooking the harbour and Towan Beach. Only problem was a huge conifer blocked the view form the sofas where we ha d hoped to sit and admire the view. Sea could be seen from the corner of the window or from the balcony, too windy wet and cold to use in the middle of November. The harbour can just be seen from the small breakfast bar in the corner of the kitchen. Lovely in the morning sun but not what you would want to stay sitting in uncomfortable high chairs for long. We could take our dog which sounded brilliant but the balcony did not have a gate at the end to keep her in. Hard work all the time having to get dressed for a cold and wet outside when all she wanted to do was a very quick outside visit to do a wee. The en suite light did not come on very often even though the fan always came on. The bathroom light usually came on after a few minutes but the extractor fan never came in. Maybe the electrics need checking for a loose connection. It was a very relaxed almost here and we loved our stay once we had got over the sadness of looking at the sea in comfort. I think you need to change the advertising photo for the ground floor flat into one that is realistic.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback and are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We have discussed your feedback with the owners who have confirmed that there are ongoing discussions with the owner of the ground with the conifer tree. They also confirmed that there are partial sea views from the property. Dogs are welcome at the apartment, however as the garden is a communal garden there is a site rule in place that dogs must be kept on a lead in the communal grounds, which we do state on our website Property Owner

The week went quickly even though the weather was terrible.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback, which we have discussed with the owners. They have confirmed that the apartment is an end apartment, so although the balcony is a shared balcony, there won’t ever be anyone walking past as it is an end balcony.
