  • "What an amazing apartment with the most specular views!"

It has everything one would need to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. It is in a perfect location overlooking Towan beach which is a couple of minutes walk away. We would recommend this apartment without hesitation and we also would happily stay there again. There was a little mis-communication between Sykes and the housekeeping people but was quickly rectified by the lovely Tracey.

So close to access to shops, pubs, sea can’t fault it. Only gave 3 for maintenance as the latch was broken on the gate, no number on the keycode pad and no lock on our locker. Glazing amazing at blocking out noise from local night club. Thank you so much for renting out your property.

  • "Unfortunately the following which we haven’t experienced in a Sykes Cottage before."

    1) Dishwasher not emptied 2) No dishwasher tablets supplied (supposed to be 7) 3) Cushions and carpets stained. 4) TV remote missing. Found after 3/4 days down back of settee. 5) No cleaning materials. 6) Sticky patches on work surfaces. Obviously not been cleaned. 7) Not been vacuumed.

We are terribly sorry for the mistakes made by our cleaner & housekeeper. We have discussed these mistakes with our cleaner and agreed on improvements going forward. Following a call from guest about missing remote, which has been misplaced by previous guest, our housekeeper bought a new universal TV remote and delivered that to the flat. Our cleaner spent 2 hours cleaning prior to guest arrival. We also paid a separate window cleaner to clean all the windows. Additional cleaning material and products have now been replenished and provided. Property Owner

Understand how difficult it is to keep the windows clean but they were all grubby. Sofa bed in lounge is not great to sit on but the apartment is good, well stocked and in great location . Private car park a real winner.

  • "Good location very close to Towan beach with great views of the sea and beach."

Overall the accommodation was good and we certainly enjoyed our week in Newquay, getting the benefit of a sunny week. We felt that the accommodation could benefit from a spruce up of utensils and crockery, many items were chipped and some of the basics were missing such as a bottle opener. Plus only a very basic supply of household items are provided and the tea, coffee and sugar should be filled up before each swap over. The accommodation though overall is very modern and a great base for the beach and exploring Newquay and the surrounding areas.

Thank you for your comment. We have now bought new set of crockery to replace the old ones. Bought new bottle opener. Housekeeper is now making sure tea coffee and sugar are properly replenished. Property Owner

Beds are small (for us) and not really comfortable. Well equipped kitchen - but please replace the baking trays with new ones, the current ones are a health hazard. Very difficult to find initially - better instructions on how to navigate the one way system first time would be helpful, even Google gets it wrong.

  • "The apartment was superb, being spacious, well furnished and clean and tidy."

The location was good with all local beaches and amenities within walking distance. For us this was important as we basically parked the car up for a week and relaxed. Parking at the premises was invaluable as there appears limited free roadside parking in Newquay. My only negative feedback is the location of public houses nearby. It was stated there were some within minutes and I think on one email approx 100 yards. There is in fact a pub adjoined to the flat we were in with a second next door to that, in effect right next door. Fortunately the adjoining pub was not popular therefore was quiet and we did not hear from it all week so had no effect upon our holiday. My concern would be if this changed as locals stated in previous years it has been loud and raucous. That scenario would have seriously affected our holiday quality.

  • "The apartment was lovely and modern with everything we needed in the kitchen."

The beds were comfortable with luxury bedlinen and towels. We had a fantastic week and the apartment is well located for the beach, town and restaurants. The only negatives were that there were not many mirrors (bathroom ones were too high for me and the children). It would be really useful to have a mirror in both bedrooms and at least one full length mirror. Also an airer for clothes to dry on would have been handy. Other than that it was perfect.

Thank you for your comment. The owner really appreciates your feedback. Following your feedback, the owner has now installed a full length mirror in the apartment. A new clothes airer has been provided. This is replacing a previous one which was broken by previous guests Property Owner
