    “The place was clean and relatively comfortable, however we had trouble with the shower set on it hottest which kept going from scorching hot to cool.”

    It was more cool than hot. The heating in the rooms were OK for now, however winter would be cold. The rest of the place was cold for October. The place was lacking a hair dryer, my wife and daughter missed this.

The property

Gunnislake 2 miles.

This wonderful, mid-terrace bungalow is situated on the Honicombe Manor Holiday Resort in the Tamar Valley, a couple of miles from Gunnislake and four miles from the centre of Callington.

With beautiful, far-reaching country views from the patio and sitting room, this delightful holiday home is perfect for families, friends and couples exploring Devon and Cornwall.

The living space has floor-to-ceiling windows making it bright and a great space for everyone to sit together.

You can plan the day's adventures around the extendable dining table, or relax in the large sitting area after a long day walking, or at the beach.

The door opens into the sitting room, which has two 3-seater sofas and a TV with FreeSat.

The sitting room opens into a kitchen with a dining table which usually seats four but extends when needed with two extra chairs in two of the bedrooms.

To the back of the property are three good-sized bedrooms with lots of storage, including a master double bedroom and two with twin beds.

Before turning in for the night, why not enjoy a long, relaxing soak in the bath.

You can reminisce the day with a glass of wine, or catch up on some me time with your favourite book.

Outside is a lawn sloping down to the road and a patio with outdoor furniture, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the holiday resort in the summer sunshine.

Honicombe Manor has a friendly on-site pub, as well as some wonderful facilities that will easily keep everyone happy on rainy afternoons, or in the morning before heading out for the day.

Enjoy a swim, keep those muscles awake in the gym or challenge each other to a game of table tennis and pool in the games room.

The resort is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with sensational walks and cycle routes to enjoy at every turn.

A short drive away, the town of Callington is home to a beautiful 15th century church, a wonderful Pannier Market and the Mural Trail, unique to Callington, where amateur and professional artists have brought their work to life on the walls of the town.

Bodmin Moor and Dartmouth National Park are both an easy drive away.

You can explore the quaint fishing town of Looe, or travel slightly further afield and visit the delightful towns of Tintagel, Padstow and Wadebridge on the north coast.

A fantastic place to holiday, with so much to see and do nearby.

Tavistock 5 miles; Plymouth 18 miles.

The small rural village of Gunnislake lies on the steeply wooded banks of the River Tamar. It has village pubs and a small selection of shops. Notably, the village sits at one end of the scenic Tamar Valley Railway - with regular services along the river bank to Plymouth. The area is perfect for exploring Dartmoor, the south and north coast beaches and the attractions of Cornwall’s far west. Close to hand, the Dartmoor town of Tavistock with its pannier market, pubs and restaurants is a must, as well as the popular fishing village of Calstock, renowned for its crafts and festivals, while the Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT) are just 10 minutes away. Enjoy a round of golf at St Mellion (8 miles), explore the restored Victorian mining village at Morwellham Quay (4 miles), search for otters and deer along the Tamar Valley footpath, visit the National Trust owned Lydford Gorge, or take a trip to the beach and picturesque harbour at Looe (25 miles) - there’s something for everyone. For something really different, why not ride the scenic Tamar Valley Railway into Plymouth and spend the day in the fabulous Marine Aquarium or strolling the historic Plymouth Hoe?

Please note: Leisure facilities are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Year's Day. Reception & shop will be closed for the same.
The bar will be open for Christmas Day lunch at 12pm - 3pm (only if pre-booked) - closed from 3pm until 27th and closed New Year's Day.

Essential work is being carried out to upgrade the Biomass boilers on the site of Honicombe Manor. Work is expected to take between 1 and 3 weeks commencing on the 5th November 2019. There will be no heating in the changing rooms at the leisure complex during this time. Enjoyment of the site facilities will not be otherwise affected.
