  • "Enjoyable enough stay, but no privacy with lack of window coverage at kitchen."

Also beds felt damp and still no working TV. My understanding is that this has been an ongoing issue for months re other reviews. Apart from that ot was OK but not great.

We're pleased to hear you had an enjoyable stay. Thank you for taking the time to highlight these issues, they are in the process of being resolved for the upcoming season Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at this bungalow."

It was quiet and enjoyable. However, I was extreme disappointed considering I had read a review which someone wrote last September stating that the TV was not working. I totally expected this to be fixed by now, but to my utter disappointment, it still was not working. To be honest, I think it was the remote that has been broken all this time and still has not been replaced. Definitely the TV should have been working by now. They should also have been a curtain at the kitchen window, no privacy, especially because we had the end bungalow and everyone passed that way to get to the gate for the exit. On the whole, it was a lovely area and I had a very relaxing time.

  • "Overall a nice property in a great location ."

Good onsite facilities. The property ,however, seemed to be lacking some basic maintenance. The TV remote did not work . The dining table was at the point of collapse and needed propping up for safe use. There was no storage or shelving in the bathroom ,both plugs , sink and bath ,did not function and the shower was only adequate. These are only minor things but if they are not mentioned then will not be remedied. The cottage was larger than expected and very comfortable for a weeks , home from home , stay.

We're pleased to hear you had a comfortable stay and enjoyed the on-site facilities. Thank you for highlighting these issues, they are in the process of being resolved for the upcoming season and we look forward to welcoming you in the future. Property Owner

However, i did have to secure the wobbly glass table, tighten screws on the TV stand and tighten up the toilet seat(this also made me feel at home

  • "Booking our visit we were informed we could not use the pool."

We presumed this was because of Covid. On arrival other holidaymakers were using the pool and activities and we were Informed it was because our cottage didnt subscribe to use the facilities. As we had a 6 and 8 year old this was disappointing. We found many places to go and the beach at Looe very pictursque but did not take dogs. The beach at Seaton does take dogs but parking limited. We had a lovely stay.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we are very pleased that you had a lovely stay. The pools and gym are not included when booking Manorcombe 20, this is advertised within the marketing of the property. We do hope that you will come and stay with us again. Property Owner

The main bedroom has black mould which is infallibility seat is broken the shower the temperature keeps changing the towel rail doesn't work and the heater on the third bedroom doesn't work.so the cottage needs work done.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback, we are sorry that you experienced these issues. We are pleased to say that the property is now fully refreshed, having been refurbished during spring 2021. Also, a new housekeeping company will now be looking after the property. • "The place could be better the bungalow was damp smelt musty."

The door didn't fit properly it banged and rattled with the wind .luckily it was warm weather.tv was not good kept going out of tunning no welcome pack so no info about facilities. It wasn't clean we had to Wash things in kitchen before using there were no dish cloth or tea towels .there were no toilet rolls at all we had to go shopping straight away after a long journey we were disappointed . In the middle bedroom on the carpet it was obvious smell of urine from a patch on floor. Also hair in one of single beds all the beds felt damp .there was cobwebs everywhere toilet had a bad smell like rotting cabbage.in the shower the hose wasn't long enough and unless you are very tall could not turn on as it was so high.I would not recommend no 20 .to anyone for holiday.I Think you should inspect it before you put it under your company name because it is a Big let down for you and the site as the main reception and restaurant and bar and other facilities were very good apart from a few dropped kerbs needed as being disabled using mobility scooter was difficult.we have booked with Sykes holidays before without any problems so such a shame this one was so poor .

  • "Well on arrival cottage situation was lovely we walked in to find dirty stained carpets in most rooms ( it wouldt cost much to get cleaned properly)."

Marks on the walls and curtains shabby and falling down. We tryed finding the cot and high chair witch we booked so i looked in the cupbord to our shock probably the most untidy cupbord iv ever seen both were chucked in there with loads of other rubbish( u may find it a bit tidyer now as my mother in law started to tidy). Plugs looked like they wernt put on properly. Nice to have towels provided but think these ones have seen better days tell you the truth. We had to rewash most of the crockery and cutlery as food was still on this. No glass at the top of door frames just opening. Smell of damp of what i thought cat urine in one of the rooms. And what happand to our complementry tea, coffee and buiscuits. Sorry but the person who owns it obvioisly dosent care aboult the property any more and if i knew the full state of this would never of paid over 700 for our holiday sorry but your asking to much there more like a 500 max for august time of the year. P.s if these things were sorted it would be a lovely spaciouse property witch people would think aboult comin back to again and pearsonally it wouldt cost much. And pps maybe add the swimming membership to

When we got to the bungalow we found the inside clean and tidy but outside could be more cleaner as there was dog poo on the pebbled area along the front window this attracted flies we had to douse this in disinfectant i know it is dog friendly but the people who were in before didn’t find that cleaning up after their pet was part of their job but the ground staff should also have come around to check if they knew the previous occupation had dogs but overall the stay was alright may think twice of going back though staff around the bar etc were very friendly also

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at Manorcombe 20. We will make sure that on changeover days that the cleaner checks around the property, however as it is a public walkway and out of our control we are unable to stop any dogs going onto the property. About the location

CALLINGTON

Tavistock 9 miles; Launceston 11.5 miles; Plymouth 14.6 miles.

Callington is a Cornish market town, rich in mining heritage and overlooked by Kit Hill, the highest point in the area, donated to the people of Cornwall by Prince Charles to celebrate the birth of Prince William. From the top of Kit Hill there are fabulous views across south-east Cornwall as far as Plymouth Sound. Callington is set in the heart of the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and offers a good selection of shops, inns and cafes, as well as being the home of Ginsters Cornish pasties. A few miles away, the quaint village of Calstock clings to the steep banks of the river Tamar and is dominated by the splendid Calstock Railway Viaduct, a giant 11-arched stone construction supporting one of Britain’s most picturesque branch lines running through the Tamar Valley. Other interesting places along the river are Cotehele, a beautiful historic house and gardens owned by the National Trust with a small quay and inn, and Morwhellam Quay, a theme park that staged a living history production for the BBC and where visitors can explore the rich mining heritage and watch blacksmiths, potters and craftsmen at work. The pannier market town of Tavistock is only nine miles from Callington and is well worth a visit on your way to a day’s walk on Dartmoor. A splendid base to explore south Cornwall and West Devon.
