  • "A delightful house in a superb location."

Simple but comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped and the shower is excellent. Welcome gifts were very generous and lots of logs provided. Both the owner and housekeeper were great to communicate with.

  • "In some ways it exceeded expectations."

The house is delightful. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The only negatives are that there really isn't comfortable seating for four and the steepness and narrowness of the parking. There's nothing really you can do about the parking though.

  • "Just back from a week in the cottage."

Stunning views and a very well equipped modern cottage. Great comms from both the owner and housekeeper. Coverack was a delight with paddle boarding, Kayaking, a small shop and couple of places to eat within walking distance (you do have to book and limited places - while we were there the pub was the only place open all week in the evening). We were 4 adults and managed lounge seating by using the two/three seater sofa and chairs from table and chairs. Favourite feature by far was the ability to open wide the sliding doors overlooking the bay. Some great walks from the cottage, including a free sculpture park on the headland. We will be back again.

  • "We really enjoyed staying at Mears Cottage - the views are incredible."

We found the kitchen to be well-appointed with everything we needed. The lovely Suzy (the manager) texted to ensure we were happy and left us lots of locally sourced treats to enjoy. The cottage was clean and very pleasingly furnished. We were there with exceptionally hot weather and it was great to be able to slide the big glass doors open and let the lovely breeze and soft murmurings of the sea in . . . thank you!

  • "Lovely accommodation with great sea views!"

  • "The view was amazing and the kitchen and living areas were clean and well equipped but everything went downhill after this."

The furniture in the living area was very uncomfortable (and although there was only two of us) there is not enough seats for four adults as advertised . The shower was mouldy and the tiles needed a good scrub. We could not use the master downstairs bedroom because it was so cold and the smell of mould was over powering. The duvets on the beds are very thin. The approach to the property was was very narrow. On two occasions the bottom lock on the front door was unlocked on our return back to the property, so there may be a fault with the locking system.

Coverack is a small fishing village on the Lizard Peninsula, a few miles from Lizard Point in Cornwall, the most southerly point on mainland Britain. Coverack is a beautiful and peaceful place to escape the main tourist routes and offers a beach in the sheltered bay, which is ideal for swimming, windsurfing and kayaking, as well as shops, pub and restaurants. St Keverne (4 miles from Poldowrian) has a Post Office, shops and 2 pubs. The Lizard Peninsula has many spectacular coves and beaches and is noted for its rare geology and plants. From Lizard Point there are wonderful sea views from the windswept cliffs, which provide fabulous walking opportunities along this stretch of the South West Coast Path. Inland is the market town of Helston, known for its Flora Day Festival, and in Gweek is The Cornish Seal Sanctuary. Flambards theme park is just 20 minutes' drive away and just over ten miles away is the Culdrose Airfield, where once a year the public are welcome to come and meet the Fleet Air Arm, the Royal Navy’s flying force. Coverack is ideally located for exploring The Lizard Peninsula, as well as the lovely seaside towns of St Ives and Falmouth and many other beaches and pretty villages.
