  • “Really nice property in a very rural setting.”

Journey times to coast and places if interest slightly longer than I had expected on country lanes. Owners very welcoming. Enjoyed stay.

The property

Ogbeare Barn near Bude sits in an elevated, magical position and enjoys amazing countryside views from it's enviable location in the grounds of the Ogbeare Estate.

The converted barn which is adjacent to Ogbeare Farm, is a very special holiday home and is all on one level.

It is presented in a modern, contemporary style with quality furnishings and fittings and thoughtful interior design that guests can appreciate and enjoy.

It offers space and seclusion - just what the doctor ordered!

As well as the kitchen and living rooms, there are three bedrooms, one master bedroom with en-suite shower room, two twin rooms and a family bathroom with bath and separate shower, all of which are tastefully presented to a high standard.

The North Coast is but 15 mins away where families and friends can enjoy the wonderful beaches of Widemouth Bay, Bude and Crackington Haven.

All are good for surfing, swimming and sunbathing and there are a number of surf schools in the area to enrol at.

Walkers will enjoy a stroll along the heritage coastal path, much of which is owned by the National Trust and other activities such as kayaking, angling, coasteering and horse-riding are also on offer.

The approach to the barn is by way of a long and winding woodland driveway which serves a handful of private residences within this former landed estate.

Outside the property is an enclosed garden with a super sundeck and large lawn and there is off-road parking for two cars.

A working sheep farm next door brings that authentic countryside element, particularly special at lambing time.

Bring the children and experience all that this wonderful property and location has to offer.

About the location

Tintagel 17 miles.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
