  • "Excellent comfortable property with great paddock for playing and exercising the dogs."

As per previous reviews, down a long "farm" drive, so take it easy! Constructive feedback - for a full party of adults with multiple cars, more than one house key would be useful as we didn't all want to do the same things every day.

  • "Beautiful Farm house, very clean and tidy."

Open field at the back was great for the dogs too. The kitchen provides everything you need for a self catering holiday and having no Wi-Fi was no issue because the hotspot there is brilliant so we fed from our phones to the smart TV etc.

  • "Really lovely cottage."

Spotlessly clean. Everything there that you require. Owner answered any queries promptly. The enclosed field at the back is a bonus for a dog owner. Close to Bude, Tintagel, Boscastle and not too far to drive to Port Isaac and Padstowe. Other reviewers have mentioned the track from the road that takes you to the cottage. If you take your time using low gears, it isn't an issue and dont let it put you off as the cottage is so nice.

  • "Absolutely gorgeous property."

So peaceful and relaxing. Great Central location to alot of fabulous locations. We had an absolute blast. Only issue both men 6 1/2 foot tall so beds little short for them

  • "By far the best we have stayed in."

So comfortable and love the way it is set in the countryside. It was everything we wanted and brilliant for our 2 dogs who had the time of their life’s in the secure field.Inside the property is was so spacious and comfortable, like home from home with great amenities and places to visit close by. Have booked next year already and cannot wait to return.

  • "Hallgarden Farmhouse is a fantastic property, really hidden away surrounded by green fields in every direction, great facilities, well equipped and to have the large paddock for the dogs to run free in was a massive bonus."

The one and only thing I would say is Wi-fi would be a bonus.

  • "Great location, not too far away from supermarkets etc."

Well connected allowing us to see as much of Cornwall as possible within the week. Cosy and comfortable cottage. Any problems were dealt with promptly by the owners, who were easily contactable if needed. Overall a nice week away from the day to day.

  • "It was not made clear the property was a mile down a rough track, and this was a real nuisance every time you went out."

Disappoimtimg! Also we had big ptoblems with the electric cooker, not working properly and not repaired properly the whole week. Cooker just difficult to use. All a bit scruffy around the farm, with what semed like omgoing building work. Apart from that the property was quite comfortable and well appointed.

  • "This is the 2nd year in a row we as a family have stayed at this property and it never fails to deliver for us."

The house itself, the field for our dog and us to play games on and it’s location to beaches and amenities. We would definitely go back if the price is right!

  • "We had a fabulous week at Hallgarden Farmhouse."

The location was great for exploring many jewels of Cornwall including beaches, Bodmin Moor and the Cornwall at War museum in Davidstow. The cottage was clean and well equipped for our needs. We enjoyed eating Al fresco on the patio and the dog had ample room to run around safely. We are only disappointed that on looking to book again in the future the price has been increased quite a lot, perhaps in Part due to the current climate of staycationing, however this may well outprice lots of families looking to holiday in England.

  • "Little bit deceiving on how isolated property is."

Very long driveway to property on a very rough and pot holed track. Not mentioned at time of booking!

The farm house was absolutely perfect and we had a great week. All facilities were included along with a great pool table. The field was a great addition for Lola the dog and the gardens were great. Really recommend this property

  • "This is a beautiful cottage and the owners have taken great care to ensure high quality and comfort for guests."

It made an ideal base for our walking holiday. The website did not mention it was down a mile long track nor that it was without WiFi.

  • "Hallgarden farmhouse was lovely and we'd definitely go back."

however, the problems people were having with Sykes and their policy regarding cancellations during this covid period was completely unacceptable. fortunately it didn't affect us directly. But that is something you need to sort out because, for many of your customers, your reputation is in tatters.

  • "Having private use of a field for exercising the dogs was absolutely perfect, and indeed the reason why we booked the cottage in the first place."

They stayed clean for the whole week - first time in months! We didn't manage to get to grips with the central heating system which seemed a little erratic, but having the log burner kept us cosy. The TV was a little on the small side (as mentioned in other feedback), and being fixed rigidly to the wall made it difficult to view from all seats. The cottage itself was delightful and the extra touches of plants and fresh flowers in the kitchen window, plentiful soap and loo roll (a big bonus in current climate!) and tea & coffee supplies on arrival were very much appreciated.

  • "The cottage was very warm, cosy and homely."

There is lots of things to do and places of interest to visit nearby. I think the TV and unit needs to be updated as it feels like that has just been left behind and doesn't fit in with the brilliant ambience and keeping of the rest of the cottage. Will definitely be coming back in the future.

  • "The property was very nice and it was in a great rural spot."

It would benefit from WiFi and the wet room shower overflows, so it probably needs unblocking. Overall, it's a lovely property though, and I'd highly recommend it.

  • "Very nice property, clean and well appointed."

The 3G and 4G coverage in the area is good, so we didn't really miss the absence of WiFi. Having a separate enclosed area where we could exercise our dog was a real bonus. The kids took a little time to adjust to the size and fixed location of the TV -- but that left us more time to interact as a family and to talk(!). We really enjoyed our time at this property and hope to return.
