The cottage

Ideally situated for touring all of Cornwall but in particular the south coast, this home-from-home bungalow is located in the heart of the village and fishing port of Par, close to the beautiful, historical harbour town of Fowey.

A short distance to the railway station for anyone wanting to leave the car at home, access to anywhere in the county either by car or train is easy here.

When you arrive and enter the bungalow you will appreciate the home-from-home feeling that the owners have created throughout.

With a cosy sitting room, kitchen and dining room, and the two bedrooms and bathroom complete the accommodation.

Outside a large enclosed garden gives ample room for children and pets to play or why not walk across to the park opposite?

Should the weather not be suitable for trips out, a short distance away is Kidzworld ,an all-weather adventure centre offering mega slides, ball pools and much more.

Of course the dog-friendly sandy beach only 10 minutes’ walk away will be a regular trip where at low water the sands extend to over half a mile.

There is also a small sandy cove on the eastern side of the sands.

Keen walkers must make a point of taking the coastal path to Porthpean, through a variety of landscapes from a picturesque harbour to pretty beaches.

With the towns and villages such as Fowey and Mevagissey both within a short drive and the major attractions such as the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan the same, this is an ideal base for holidays or short breaks all year round.

About the location

Fowey 4 miles; Charlestown 4 miles; St. Austell 5 miles.

Par village is located on the South Cornwall coast offering a sandy family and dog-friendly beach (dogs allowed all year round) on St. Austell Bay. The village is only 2.5 miles away from the internationally renowned Eden Project, which can be reached on foot through the leafy green Luxulyan Valley. Between Par and the picturesque harbour of Fowey, is the Gribbin Peninsula, which has magnificent views of the surrounding coastline and makes for an excellent walk. Close to Par are many places connected to the author Daphne du Maurier, including the small cove at Polkerris which boasts the Rashleigh Arms and which takes its name from a local landowner whose house was frequented by the author. There are many attractions in the area including the China Clay Country Park, Charlestown Shipwreck Museum and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A fabulous location to explore the rich heritage and magnificent coastline of South Cornwall.
