  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Shoemaker's Cottage."

Although we had a few maintenance problems, they were dealt with quickly & efficiently & the contractor was very competent and pleasant. We were a party of six and the sleeping and dining arrangements were more than adequate, however, but for our foresight in bringing a camping chair, there would not have been enough seating. The garden is fully enclosed but the gate is waist height with inadequate fastenings which meant that we couldn't let the dogs out without leads due to the busy road. This could be easily rectified with the installation of a full sized gate. Nevertheless, we had a nice time. Pelynt was close to some lovely towns & beaches & has several grocery stores.

  • "The garden gate needs a secure lock, as we had to constantly watch the 3yr old didn't try to make an escape."

Great location for Looe and Polperro. Not too far to travel to Newquay Zoo and Camel Creek Park. Lovely pub within 1 minute walk. Spar opposite the Cottage. Lovely stay would recommend.

  • "The house was generally clean and tidy , small things like the shower curtain was ginger on the bottom, the bath overflow is broken the toilet seat is not fitted properly and moves every time to use it ."

The kitchen was ok lots of new glassware but not of the labels had been removed , there was no grill pan and the layout is not ideal. The lounge is a nice space but small things like curtains don’t match just two scatter cushions , the BT sport pack had not been connected but was rectified by the Monday , Upstairs the bedrooms are a good size but again annoying things like lampshades not fitting properly the curtains in the front bedroom didn’t have enough hooks on them and on several occasions the curtain rail detached itself from the curtains , The garden was uncared for weeds and grass growing through the stones and generally dirty not a pleasant place to sit . The location is perfect the village is lovely and shop and pub are ideal . With a little more thought and TLC the cottage could be so much better

  • "Lovely quaint cottage, there were 4 of us and that was enough any more and I think you would struggle."

Only negative is the road noise.Pub up the road is great.

  • "Nice cottage, great shop next door, nice area."

Living area was cosy and cute. Kitchen is fine and had all we needed, although if you had 6 people it might be a bit difficult to cook a nice meal as it's quite small. Garden was quite big but as it's bare and next to the road we didn't spend much time there, but it's nice to have the option and a big table and chairs there. Overall the experience was good - I thought it was quite expensive for what it was but that's just because Cornwall is so popular. We couldn't find any recycling bins or instructions, that's my only complaint.
