The property

Perfectly located for exploring the dramatic north coast of Cornwall, this traditional-style quarry workers cottage is set in the quiet village of Delabole, four miles from Tintagel and just over two miles from the stunning coastal path.

Dog-friendly and ideal for walkers or cyclists, with secure storage for bikes and surfboards in the outside utility room.

The cottage is situated in a quiet, narrow lane close to the world famous Delabole slate mine.

With slate floors and a woodburner adding warmth to the interior, this cosy accommodation features just two rooms on the ground floor.

The living room boasts a large, sumptuous sofa and exposed beams washed in white.

The kitchen is well-equipped for preparing those home-cooked meals.

On the first floor are two double bedrooms, along with the family bathroom.

Enjoy a relaxing soak in the tub after a day's walking along the coast or at the nearby moors.

Opposite the cottage is a small garden with furniture and the utility room.

When it comes to dining, you will find, within walking distance, a choice of two pubs as well as a take away Fish & Chip shop.

The pubs, Bettle and Chisel Inn and The Poldark Inn are quirky village pubs well-known locally for great value, traditional food and fine local ales.

Tintagel is within easy reach, home to the legend of King Arthur, whose ruins dominate the cliffside.

The beautiful, harbour village of Port Issac, is featured in ITV's Doc Martin and retains much of its character, unchanged from its days of fishing and smuggling.

There are charming little shops to browse, along with tea rooms and pubs serving delicious, Cornish produce.

It is also home to Nathan Outlaw's seafood restaurant!

An ideal, cosy base for exploring this beautiful area of Cornwall.

About the location

DELABOLE

Tintagel 3.5 miles; Camelford 5 miles; Port Isaac 6 miles.

At one time the producer of the world’s best quality building and ornamental slate, this now sleepy village is just 2.5 miles from the high cliffs and dramatic scenery of the north Cornish coastline. Perfectly placed for walking the South West coastal path, exploring the high places of nearby Bodmin Moor, or for lazing on the beach at nearby Trebarwith Strand, it’s a well-placed holiday base. The peaceful harbour village of Port Isaac and the town of Tintagel, with its tourist attractions and King Arthur’s legendary castle, are both a short drive, while the stunning surfing beach at Polzeath is a mere nine miles away. Slaughtersbridge, where King Arthur reputedly fought his last battle, is five minutes away and a drive north along the coast takes in the beautiful cove at Crackington Haven. An area away from the main tourist crowds, but very central to a vast array of places and activities. Delabole Quarry itself is just down the road and is an interesting tourist attraction with stunning views. It is the gateway to great countryside walks.
