    Mr House

“Being the first visitors to stay at Bal Wyn Cottage we were very pleased with the quality of all of the fittings.”

We did not need for anything. There was a large paved courtyard and a seperate lawnd area. Very secure garden. The dogs loved it. The owners,Owain and Rachel were close by if needed and are very frendly. We will definately be back. Easy access to the cottage and no lanes.

The cottage

Resting in a quiet, rural location in the hamlet of Lower Penhale on the edge of the village of Fraddon, with the seaside resort of Newquay in striking distance, is Bal Wyn.

This semi-detached cottage is ideal for families, couples or a group of friends looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and find a spot of relaxation at this Cornish hidden gem!

You are in a superb touring location for the north and south coasts of Cornwall, as well as being moments away from the A30, taking you right town to Land's End, one of the country's most famous landmarks.

Access to the cottage is gained via the side gate from the parking area, which leads you through a well-kept, enclosed garden to the kitchen.

You will be greeted by a fresh, Cornish cream tea on arrival, which you can either enjoy outside on the sunny terrace, or in the dining room, which boasts a decorative AGA stove adding character to the space.

Later, rustle up a tasty, home-cooked meal and get everyone back together around the table to make plans for your trip, as you wash down a feast with a bottle of chilled wine.

Move through to the sitting room to unwind into your evening beside the woodburning stove and tune into the TV or simply take in your surroundings as you chat late into the night.

Once it is finally time for bed, head up the stairs to find two well-presented bedrooms; one offering zip/link beds for flexible sleeping arrangements, while they both host lovely views of the green fields outside.

A warm, summer's afternoon can be spent within the enclosed garden, where you have space to wash down the dog on return form a long walk, a lawned area for the kids to enjoy, as well as two seating areas at which to relax with a glass of your favourite tipple.

There are plenty of things to do in the area including 3 pubs, Starbucks and Mcdonalds to enjoy.

You have plenty to pass your time, including coastal walks, sandy beaches and a fantastic surf at Newquay, along with its famous zoo and SEA LIFE centre.

You also have the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan within easy reach, not forgetting the city of Truro and the St. Agnes Heritage Coast.

A superb retreat in a beautiful part of Cornwall.

Little traffic now passes through the village, which at one time was on the old coaching route to London. The surrounding area has much to interest visitors, with stunning gardens, historic houses, superb coastal walking and sandy beaches, several theme and leisure parks and of course Newquay’s famous zoo and sea life centre. Spend a day at the National Surf Centre on Fistral beach, hit the shops in nearby Truro with its cathedral and cobbled streets or savour the atmosphere and experience of the tropical rainforest at the Eden Project (16 miles).
