  • "Fantastic location and Cottage one mile from Rock beach and ferry to Padstow."

Property is spacious, warm, great conservatory. Well fitted kitchen with every appliance. Lovely garden. Extremely quiet at bottom of private drive. Lovely walks immediately outside Cottage. Fish and chips and local shop five mins walk and garage and cashpoint 2 min drive. The cottage and location could not be better. Beaches, ENG Heritage. Tintagel etc etc easy access. There is nothing to whinge about. Ignore the fact that there is no WiFi, the signal on your phone is good. Comments about the small tv should be ignored. It is, but so what. Only advisory is the lack of hair drier and the oven was in need of a bit of tlc.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Old Kea Cottage."

The cottage is in a really great location down a quiet lane with a shop and chip shop at the end. The cottage is a lovely size and the new bathroom was a real bonus. The garden was beautiful and we had been warned about the builders in the house at the end of garden, but we really didn't notice them. The only downside was the tv in the living room is super small. Small to the point that it actually hurts your eyes if you're sitting on the sofa. The living room is a decent size, so for the size of the room, it definitely needs to be bigger to make relaxing in the evening more enjoyable. All in all, we had a really great stay.

Thank you for you lovely comments, we will look into the issue with the TV. We hope to welcome you back in the near future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner Property Owner

The sun room was delightful and we spent a lot of time sitting in there - very relaxing. The property would benefit from a larger television screen.

  • "Old kea cottage was lovely."

Really clean and comfortable. Just a shame the builders started up at 8am every morning otherwise it would have also been super peaceful Only few issues that could be easily rectified… The lack of wifi I am surprised at as it isn’t expensive at all to provide and the TV was tiny. Too small to watch really. We still had a lovely stay

  • "Really lovely cottage in such a great setting."

Brilliant living space and cosy bedrooms with great mattresses in the main bedroom. The only downside for us were the builders in the garden. We couldn't sleep with the windows open due to the noise in the mornings and equally weren't able to sit outside in the afternoon. Most of the noise was bearable other than some sort of grinder noise which went right through us. Some fans in the cottage would be really appreciated for warm nights.

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased enjoyed Old Kea Cottage. The building work next door is unfortunate but sadly out of our control, we hope this didn't disturb too much and we look forward to welcoming you back very soon John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner Property Owner

  • "The cottage was more than we had anticipated."

The conservatory makes a great place to play and dine with the windows letting in the autumn light. Quiet and peaceful location, undisturbed and with parking and local amenities close. Fish and chips shop up the Lane of gourmet standard (no kidding) We enjoyed the log burner in the evenings to relax to and the children watched the tv in the sitting room. Beams and modern facilities, dish washer, washing machine all made for an updated but still quintessentially Cornish experience …. Bakery and Spa on the doorstep, but my daughter also enjoyed a different Spa experience, a birthday massage at Balance (5 minutes walk away) Pity Me Inn was good and within walking distance. Rock and Polzeath both great beaches for the kids to run off and play.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's great to hear that you had such a fabulous stay at Old Kea Cottage and had the perfect base to explore the north Cornish coastline from! We hope to invite you back to North Cornwall very soon. John Bray on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Our first time at Old Kea Cottage, very quiet and peaceful, just what we were looking for."

Loved the conservatory, spent a lot of time reading in there during the odd rainy days . Been coming to Rock on holiday for over 20 years with various dogs, this was the first time without our lovable pets as the last of them passed 2 years ago, felt strange without them! We visited all our usual haunts, a bit surprised to see the amount of building work ongoing in the village, but that's progress I suppose. Did report to the John Bray office the fact the bottom compartment of the cooker did not operate, it did not affect us that much as there was only the 2 of us. 1 comment a larger freezer compartment in the fridge would be useful. Regards.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you had the chance to make the most of the local amenities! We appreciate you bringing the issue of the broken cooker to our attention. This will be investigated by our maintenance team, promptly. John Bray on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Cottage was great for the first 3 nights, but from the 4th night onwards we were woken up by what sounded like heavy footsteps, banging and furniture being dragged in the cottage."

We checked the whole property but could not understand where the sounds were coming from. This only happened in the early hours and not in the day, and by the Friday we decided not to stay the final night because of this, cutting our holiday short.

We were so sorry your holiday was disturbed. This is a semidetached old cottage and the noise you heard was almost certainly our lovely neighbour who very occasionally has to rise early to travel. He opens the sash window to let his cat in. Sorry again for your disturbance. Property Owner
