  • "This was a lovely property, well situated within Pentewan."

The open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge were beautiful with ample space for the family to occupy. The beds were comfortable and rooms were of a good size. The views from the balcony over Pentewan were lovely. My only observation was the parking which can be challenging and there is a certain technique to it and only room for one car which could be challenging for other familiies. However, overall I would definitely recommend this property and am sure we will book it again.

  • "The cottage itself was amazing."

Well kitted out. Good location. Friendly neighbours and lots to do in the local area. A few points of note that we felt were not highlighted enough. Parking is a stressful mission each time you take the car out you have to do a 8 point turn on a 45degree hill. It is what it is but should be more highlighted on the details, especially if you have a big car. The low cost parking in the village at the weekend is non existent to use on a Fri, Sat and Sun. If it is like that in June, July and Aug will be no better. The other important point which should be highlighted is the accommodation is on a steep hill which requires a lot of energy to get up. I have 2 slipped discs. To be honest if I had known the accommodation was on a hill we would have chosen a more suitable location. It is a hard climb to the house if you struggle walking. The family did loved the location, pub, facilities of books and games. walks by the river. Overall I would recommend the accommodation as the beach is amazing.

About the location

PENTEWAN

  • St Austell 4 miles
  • Mevagissey 2 miles

Pentewan is a delightful coastal village set back from the sandy expanse of Pentewan Beach. The village shop and pub draw visitors from far and wide, while the beach is good for children and a favourite with water sport enthusiasts. Dogs are only permitted on the beach between the first Sunday in November and the end of February, but dog walkers can enjoy the stunning woodland of the Pentewan Valley Trail, along with other beaches a short drive away. The coastal path passes through the village and as it climbs up the cliffside towards Mevagissey, the views across the bay toward Devon in the far distance are breath-taking. Good cycle paths pass close by and there is cycle hire available in the village. The nearby fishing village of Mevagissey offers many restaurants and fresh local fish. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Pinetum Gardens are both just a short drive away, while the Eden Project is within easy reach and well worth a visit.
