You really are the perfect hosts! Nothing was too much trouble and you were so helpful and welcoming! Always on hand no matter what we needed...even in the Tavern!! And almost forgot the welcome pack...a thoughtful extra we really were not expecting! Can't recommend highly enough! Thankyou to all involved!! Ben & Abbie

  • "Great property in the heart of Mevagissey."

Comfy bed and great shower and kitchen had everything you need but would benefit from a freezer compartment in the fridge. Truan was great and let us know as soon as the property was ready allowing us to check in earlier - a real bonus because stated check in time is actually 5pm which is late but is stated in booking details. The only other slight negatives are that the property doesn’t get a lot of natural light and it would benefit from having coat hooks in the hall and a cupboard in the bedroom for easy access to storage. However, this wouldn’t stop me staying again though.

  • "A very pretty apartment, ideal for a short stay but not for two weeks."

Having the bedroom upstairs and the bathroom downstairs was a bit of a pain, as was not having an on-site parking space (though we were able to use one of the empty apartment’s spaces for the first week). There is simply not enough storage space for a stay longer than a few days, either in the kitchen (little food cupboard space, no freezer), or bedroom (no drawers, only a couple of shelves in the ‘wardrobe’). The low eaves were literally a pain in the neck in the bedroom as you can’t stand straight at either side of the bed, only at its end. There is no hoover, broom, or mop for cleaning and, despite staying for two weeks, we did not get clean towels, bed linen, or a mid-stay clean, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the bed and sofa were comfortable, the shower was very effective, and the apartment is perfectly positioned in the centre of the village and makes a great base for days out. We would not stay again because of the issues mentioned but we had a good stay, despite the weather!

Thank you for your feedback. Extra storage for the bedroom is being installed. We have taken up the issue with our cleaning team regarding the mid stay clean, this is usually standard procedure for all our properties. Please be assured this will not happen again. We are pleased you had a good stay and hope we will see you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "The property was spotlessly clean."

There are a few things noted. The lack of crockery and pans. The blind in the dining area was unable to be drawn up as wall mounted clip missing. The fridge has no ice box, it may be worth noting this The bedroom would benefit from larger drawers, a chair and a bin. There was a lot of noise coming from the pub across the road Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Perhaps this was because we had the velux windows open so the noise travelled. The view from both windows in the living area is not the most desirable looking out onto a building in need of repair one side especially. None of the above affected our stay and would certainly recommend the area. We went on the Mevagissey to Fowey ferry it was well worth the trip. Unfortunately we missed the dolphins. Had a wonderful day at the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The decor and pictures in the apartment were impressive. The information before hand was prompt and very helpful. There were no issues with the car parking and loading/unloading the car went well.

Dear Mrs Phoenix, I am sorry you have issue with the wall clip missing, as they are made of Perspex and unfortunately they break quite easily, however the blinds do not require the cord to be tied as the blind is designed to stay up without being tied. With regards to crockery and pans we only recently received a comment saying there was too much, I just think is a matter of preference. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and would love to see you return to property. All points have been noted. Property Owner

Great location! Had everything needed except would benefit if had coat pegs in hallway as had to leave coats on dining chairs (wouldn’t be ideal if coats were wet). I don’t think you need as many cooking dishes etc as it’s only for 2 people. Thank you though we had a great holiday!!

Central to the village with a couple of good pubs in spitting distance. Truan very accommodating, letting us know we could get in early, and also leaving a little later as no-one in immediately after. Just a pity there is not an allocated parking space as there is for the other properties. Still car park not too far unless it's raining

We stayed for a week and were really pleased with our accommodation. The kitchen is well-equipped if you want to cook and the bathroom has a great shower. The property is ideally situated round the corner from the harbour so there are some cafes, restaurants and bars nearby and there are lots of seats around the harbour so you can relax and enjoy the scenery. There are also many interesting places to visit within a few miles distance. We have already recommended Captain's Cabin to our friends!

  • "Only one fault really, the boiling hot bedroom."

We stayed 10th June - 17th June and the weather was in the low to mid 20's. The bedroom was boiling hot of a nighttime, even with the fan running all night. Although the bedroom does have 3 Velux Lights, if you open them for fresh air, the noise from the seagulls (mainly) and the pigeons does continually wake you throughout the night, we tried it one night, the seagulls don't seem to rest, forever squawking. But it is a seaside village, so there will be seagulls, loads of them, and they certainly know how to make a noise in the middle of the night. We tried just releasing the 'vents' on the Velux's and whilst quietening the noise of the seagulls, it did nothing to release the heat from the bedroom. We were advised not to leave the Velux’s open during the day, especially if we were out, because in the past the seagulls have got in and spoiled everywhere, leaving a ‘clean-up’ operation. I suppose ultimately, the bedroom could do with air conditioning, but that comes at a cost to the landlord, and would people be prepared to pay something towards the extra cost, having suffered, I know I would. Overall, the property is lovely, no complaints elsewhere, it is only the boiling hot bedroom which lets it down.

Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed to hear that the warm bedroom affected your sleep. In light of your comments we will be installing an air conditioning unit. We hope you will visit us again in the near future Property Owner

  • "The Captains Cabin is a beautiful modern apartment with very good facilities but our stay was absolutely ruined by the constant noise day and night from both seagulls and pigeons ."

They were roosting on window cills, parts of roof and gutters .The amount of bird mess all over the place and our car was awful .All the velux windows are coverd in it.We cut our stay short a day early as we were exhausted from lack of sleep .Such a shame, to what should have been a great holiday.

We are sorry to hear your comments with regards to the birds. The property is in a working fishing village and unfortunately we have no control over the birds. We are delighted to hear that otherwise you had a great holiday in our property. Property Owner

The living space was on the first floor and sleeping on the 2nd floor, where there was no way of escaping through skylights. There was a small door opposite the entrance to the bedroom, but there was no information on this to tell us if it was an escape or not, we thought it would probably meet the stairs going to another apartment, but if the fire was in the stairs then how do we escape. They have paid a lot of attention to decor in the apartment but not any thought to safety.

  • "Fantastic little apartment with great facilties."

Definatley good for couples as located right in the centre of town above a tapas bar. You have a good pub opposite and are surrounded by bars and restaurants. A 5 minute stroll to the harbour where there are more places to shop and eat. Boat trips available from there. There are 2 flights of stairs in the apartment and a loft bedroom, then on the first floor there is an open plan kitchen, lounge, diner. Smart tv with Netflix on downstairs and in the bedroom another Smart tv but you need your own sign in for up there. Very comfy sofa and clean and nicely decorated throughout. Small shower room with sink and wc and plenty of hot water and powerful shower. Mevagissey is (in our opinion) more geared up for adults as there was little space for children to let off steam and the roads have no pavements and the traffic can be busy. There is a big campsite nearby and plenty of kids were busy trying to catch the crabs by the harbour.

Right in the center of the town and very near the harbour. Parking included was a big bonus. Louise was very helpful and the wine and biscuits on arrival were a lovely surprise. And it has a dishwash as well as the washing machine which I didn't see mentioned in the add. Our Ordinance survey map was well used and footpaths were well signposted. Heligan was spectacular. Bus was easy, costs less if you use the app and can get a week ticket. St Austal was very disappointing. We visited during partial lockdown easing so a lot of places weren't open and the town was pretty quiet which suited us but I guess it will be crazy busy in peak season. So overall a great much needed holiday.
