Absolutely perfect for a couple. We have been visiting Mevagissey for over 30 years and love the place. We have 4 kids and when they were young and holidayed with us, we stayed in 3 and 2 bedroomed cottages in various parts of the village. The kids have all now fled the nest and so we didn't need anything too large. My wife found this cottage several months ago when we decided to spend New Year's Eve in Mevagissey. The price was so reasonable compared to the other properties in the village. There are very few, if any, one bedroomed cottages to rent in Meva, and so I suppose this is reflected in the price. Excellent value. There was no sea view, but as we were literally 25 yards from the harbour, it was not an issue. It is the first time we've not stayed 'up the hill', so to speak, and if you know the village you'll know how high up much of the rental property is! Hard work when you're carrying a bag of shopping, so It was nice to be so close to the town centre, it's shops, pubs, restaurants, attractions and harbour. The lounge/ kitchen is well equipped with the benefit of Netflix/ BBC iPlayer TV. However, I'm not up to scratch with this modern technology and couldn't work out how to use the TV! I called Geoff the owner, and he was most helpful in explaining what I needed to do (I've now got Netflix on our TV back home!) The bedroom is beautiful, bed extremely comfortable, and and we slept so well. Despite its central location it is extremely quiet as it is on the lower right hand side of the town as opposed to the busier left side. After we returned home we realised that in our rush to beat the traffic we had left an iPod speaker and a tablet at the property. Again I phoned Geoff who said he would contact the housekeeper and have them posted back to us. He called me the next day to say that they'd also found two shirts that I'd left behind which they would also return. Absolutely fist class service. We will look forward to staying at this lovely little cottage again.
