"It has been wonderful to stay at Stonecroft in Praa Sands - the perfect base for our 2nd week in Cornwall."
The property has everything that we needed and the location is second to none. The house was very clean and comfortable, a real home-from-home. Waking up to the view over the sea was magical and listening to the sound of the waves from the garden was so relaxing. We've packed a lot in, taking in the most of what this part of Cornwall has to offer. The local beaches have been stunning and the Coast Path provides lots of great walks and picturesque views. We've ticked everything off on our 'first-timer' bucket list, but will definitely be back to stay here again!
Thank you for your lovely review, we have tried very hard to make Stonecroft your holiday home from home. Property Owner

"What an absolute Cornish gem Stonecroft is!"
The views are stunning, the property is perfect and the location is great. The house itself has been very thoughtfully restored, while still holding its charm. It was very clean and very spacious and the views from the front of the house were breathtaking! There were kids toys in the trunk in the very spacious living room and games and puzzles in the blue drawers opposite where the coats are hung, which was an added bonus, and the fact our 4-legged friend was welcome made it a true family holiday. The info pack provided before the stay was extremely thorough and the extra info at the property was even more comprehensive, which was much appreciated. Sue and Andy were available for any queries before and during our stay, but all the info, amenities and property was so great, we really didn’t need anything, but it was great to know they were available if we had. The outside porch area was sheltered and my favourite place during the day to sit and watch the sea. The garden to the front had areas to sit and do the same. To the back of the house was an outside shower that could be attached to the hose for rinsing off wetsuits and children! And the huge greenhouse was a brilliant place to dry the gear off, ready for the next day’s adventures. There were also beach toys, chairs and bodyboards to borrow if you left anything at home! When we make it back to Cornwall we will be booking Stonecroft again, as it made our family holiday to Praa Sands extra special and it’s rarely that a holiday home feels as special as Stonecroft truly is.
Thank you for taking the time to write such an amazing review. We really appreciated it and so pleased you had a lovely family holiday. Property Owner

"Wonderful stay at Stonecroft, cottage had everything we could ask for."
The view from the front of the house is amazing, breakfasts and evenings spent as a family looking out over the sea is idyllic. Bedrooms were roomy and comfortable, plenty of living space for 5 of us and the bathrooms are modern. Everything was lovely and clean Pictures of the cottage don’t fully show the elevation of the cottage in relation to the beach, but access to the beach is just a short 5 minute walk away with steps or a slope down. Shop at the end of the lane had most things we needed but Coop down the road was also useful. Communication from our hosts was excellent, all the info the pack pack sent ahead of time was great. Will definitely visit again, being so close to Praa Sands was lovely, and just short drives out to Marazion, St Ives and Lands End.
Thank you for the lovely feedback and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Stonecroft and would like to return again. Property Owner

The house has a really nice feel to it, and we particularly enjoyed sitting by the picture window watching the sunset with a book and a cup of coffee. Many thanks to Sue and Andy who are kind and excellent hosts.

"We had a wonderful week at Stonecroft, it was blissfully relaxing, a beautiful cottage with everything we needed."
The views of the beach were amazing, it was lovely waking up to the sound of the waves and having our coffee in the morning looking out over the sea. The beach was so close, our dog Bella had a great run every morning before we went out to visit local towns, beaches and historic sites. After a stressful year it was exactly what we needed and we hope to stay again. Many thanks, Daryl Rachel and Bella.

"The property was exactly as we expected from the photographs."
Everything has its place and makes keeping the property in order whilst you stay very easy. A welcome pack was gratefully received, the information folder was very useful and our phone call was quickly answered by and the power issue sorted in no time. Sue and Andy have made us feel extremely welcome.

"Stonecroft offers all the home comforts and facilities you need."
It is a lovely relaxing and comfortable property in the perfect location for time on the beach at Praa Sands or for days out visiting other parts of Cornwall, and after a busy day of adventure/exploring, the comfortable beds and bedrooms are very welcome. If like us you like to spend time in the sea, there is the added bonus of a greenhouse where you can hang and dry all your wetsuits ready for the next day and an outdoor hose pipe for swilling the sand off. Also we took both Grandmas with us and they loved a relaxing afternoon cup of tea in the warm raised lounge area admiring the view. There is also a covered outdoor/conservatory area which is perfect to chill in on a late sunny afternoon/evening or for your morning coffee. Or have a bbq in the cute contained front garden. You're also spoilt for views at the family dining table! When we visit Cornwall, we always look for a sea view and wow this did not disappoint, perfect! We had a truly lovely stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stonecroft.

"Perfect location."
Very comfortable property. Would definitely recommend this holiday home.

"A lovely retreat with spectacular views and really well fitted out kitchen; comfy beds and amazing log burner (great for chilly March evenings)."
Great dog walking on the beach and local footpaths and wonderful sunsets viewed from the veranda (with a glass of Baileys!). Local shops available for anything urgent and Helston is only a 10 minutes drive and you have access to the big supermarkets if needed. Local beach bar is good for dinner with a view or a stop for a warming coffee after a brisk walk on the beach (and dogs welcome!). Two specific points of feedback: 1. property was immaculately clean when we arrived, so a great job by the cleaners between guest visits (made my parents feel very comfortable/safe due to CV-19 still being around and them being older). 2. the property details some stone steps with the house itself being on one level when reading the details however I would recommend that this is expanded in the description as actually to enter the property from the driveway its either 9 steps, then 5 then 2 then 1 (to use the front door) OR 9 then 10 then 1 (to enter via the veranda) my parents are both in their 70's and don't have the best mobility and they did find the steps too much so whilst I would happily visit again with friends, my parents would not be able to come back due to the stone steps as its too much for anyone with arthritis, therefore whilst the description doesn't need to list the number of steps I would suggest it is expanded to say there are circ 20 steps to access the property so people can make a judgement as none of the pictures of the properly showed the steps. Other than the steps issue I would happily recommend this property and hope to visit again one day 9.5/10 :-)
Thank you for your feedback. It sound like you had a lovely time. We do mention in the description currently "Note: This property is on an elevated position with stone steps, please take care." and at present we do feel this is sufficient warning. - The Owner Relations Team Property Owner

"Just back from an amazing week in Cornwall."
Despite the mad weather we enjoyed this beachfront property. The house couldn’t be in a better position for the beach and is perfectly placed for exploring the area. The house is really cosy, modern and the log fire is easy to use. Couldn’t recommend more a stay here. The dogs loved the house, garden and beaches. Note house has a very light carpet so bring towels to wipe their muddy paws. We will definitely be back to stay again!!

About the location
PRAA SANDS
Marazion 4.5 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Porthleven 5 miles
The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of John Carter, the self styled King of Prussia and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers. There are supermarkets and other retail stores in Penzance (8 miles) and Helston (6 miles).
