The property

Settled paces away from the breath-taking coast in the heart of the bustling Cornish town of Penzance is Stones Throw Cottage.

This idyllic, mews cottage benefits from a fabulous location near all the coastal amenities in Penzance, off-road parking for one car, which is a rarity in this popular town and three beautifully-appointed bedrooms perfect for families or friends looking to explore the delights of Cornwall.

Cross the threshold and head straight into the sitting room where you can unwind on the plush sofas in front of the Smart TV after a day full of exploring, later step through to the fully-equipped kitchen where you can help the designated chef of the group whip up tasty meals.

Gather around the dining table in the sitting room to sample their culinary creations ahead of stepping through the French doors to the picnic bench where you can savour evening drinks as the sun goes down over Penzance.

When the sky darkens, head upstairs to wash off the day in the sleek shower room before catching up on your sleep in either the double, twin or triple bunk room.

During the day, take the short walk down to the coast where you follow the coastal path, the harbour, the home of delicious restaurants including The Boatshed and Old Lifeboat House Bistro as well as breath-taking views across the sea.

On sunny days, venture to Long Rock Beach where you can while away the day upon its golden sands, splash around in the sea or even take to the open water on paddle boards or kayaks!

Continue along the coast to find the picturesque town of Marazion where you can tour the Summerhouse Gallery ahead of making your way to the iconic St Michael’s Mount; depending on the tides, you may even be able to walk across to it!

Explore the island, which is home to unique, sub-tropical gardens as well as the impressive mediaeval castle, The Giants Well and the harbour.

All of this and more awaits at Stones Throw Cottage.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150.

About the location

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
