  • "Excellent property ,couldn't wish for a better location."

The only thing I would say its not suitable for more than 2 older people , because the stairs to the top floor bedroom is very steep. I think a double bed should be in the place where bunk beds are, but if you are a fit older person , then go for it. Thanks for a great holiday

  • "Would describe 2 Alma House as a cosy little mid terrace house."

It is situated less than 5 minutes walk from Perranporth beech which is very popular with dog walkers. The house is very close to several takeaways and also a pub which does a good carvery on a Sunday. Our first night was a bit of a disaster with the bed in the attic room collapsing. Once the owners had been contacted they put wheels in motion to have the bed replaced the next day. The attic room in my opinion is a better sleeping option compared to the main bedroom as it has its own ensuite. The bath in the main bathroom is very small and would not be suitable for someone over 5 foot wanting to have a relaxing bath. A second television in one of the main bedrooms would help. The only negative sides are that the outside of house could do with some gardening as some of the plants/weeds are almost growing into the front and back doors. Also one of the bushes on the approach to the front door force you to step onto the grass as it is covering most of the step.

Many thanks for your comments. The new bed had already been purchased due to a broken slat - this booking was for 2 people and we wrongly assumed you would not be using the attic room. Our apologies, but we hoped the fact the new bed was put up for you in less than 4 hours of informing us, was satisfactory resolution to the issue. We will pass the gardening comments to out gardener, although we do ask that he doesn't disturb any wildlife in the winter months. I hope you find a more satisfactory accommodation for your next stay. Thanks Again for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "What a fantastic house!"

So local to everything and literally 3 min walk to the beach! Great base for exploring Cornwall. Our party was four adults and 2 dogs for 2 weeks and couldn’t have asked for more. The house has everything you need for your stay, they have literally thought of everything. Good communication from owners through email, would definitely recommend to anyone. Everywhere in Perranporth super dog friendly also so great for furry friends. Will definitely be coming back again!

  • "Great location for family lugging stuff to beach."

Easy 2mins with loaded truck. Ideal for shops and meals out as just back from main area. Downside only one parking slot but beach car park had spaces towards end of day and parked 24 hours £15 Thinking of returning. Showers got extremely hot upstairs loft room and variable pressure when other taps or washer on. Rotation key to all having warm showers All you need at the house even windbreak.

Thanks for your comments. The parking space is normally seen as a positive in Perranporth! Its a fab location isn't it? Property Owner

  • "Ideal location only a couple of minutes walk from beach and well presented property."

The patio was a big bonus with a breeze in the afternoon and it’s raised position was a hit with dogs who could survey the comings and goings of the street. Comfy main bed but limited space around it, if you are large like me. Lounge furniture starting to show their age but still more that sufficient for time spent indoors. Essentials such as ice cream, chip shop (cooked to order and excellent) and cream teas etc at end of the close.

The minor problems which we encountered were dealt with very quickly by the owners. Perranporth is an ideal location, especially for dog owners as everywhere is very dog - friendly.

  • "Alma 2 is close to the beach and shops etc."

The bathroom/shower is small but functional. Would suggest bringing own towels, as those supplied are like thick, starched cardboard. The bath was small and not good for an adult to use. The shower was very weak but usable. Great care should be taken if the top bedroom is used, as very steep stairs. Generally the house is dark and lights required most of the time. Well equipped kitchen. Improved instructions for the heaters would be good. Some noise from neighbours, walls appeared thin. WiFi worked well. Easy parking outside the property. Overall a good, convenient stay with few thrills.

Thank you for your comments. It's always a shame to find out something is wrong after a persons stay, especially should you need something like heating instructions or new towels. This could have been sorted out quite easily at the time of your stay. We are sorry we could not help to make your stay better and wish we had the opportunity to resolve this for you while you were with us. Property Owner

I think I recall that another company was involved initially as well, which didn't help!

About the location

PERRANPORTH

Newquay 9 miles; Truro 9.5 miles.

Perranporth, a beautiful Cornish coastal town, lies in the heart of Poldark Country, the setting for the novels of Winston Graham who lived in Perranporth in the 1930s. Perranporth offers plenty of traditional pubs and shops, plus a classic bucket-and-spade beach that is lifeguarded in summer, overlooked by craggy rocks and a wonderful coastal path. Once known as the source of the finest tin, the community still retains reminders of the rich heritage with abandoned pump houses, mine shafts and workers’ cottages. The local Blue Hills Museum and Perranzabuloe Folk Museum are both well worth a visit to understand the fascinating history of this coastal area. Further afield are the miles of sandy beaches at Crantock and Holywell Bay, and the breathtaking coastal walks around St Agnes, much of it owned by the National Trust. A perfect holiday base in Cornwall, with an abundance of activities to suit everyone.

Note: This property sleeps a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children due to one bedroom having child bunk beds.
