“Jo is the most welcoming and thoughtful host I have ever met!”

The Hideaway is a beautiful, immaculate and luxuriously comfortable place that felt like home immediately. The Hideaway is a beautiful, immaculate and luxuriously comfortable place that felt like home immediately. But Jo made it even more special with so many lovely little touches including lots of edible and drinkable goodies and biscuits, bowls and even a luxury bed for the dog (who settled in from the word go!) We had the most wonderful, relaxing but invigorating holiday in Cornwall and The Hideaway was the perfect base to explore the stunning natural beauty that my favourite place in England is so famous for. I cannot recommend this as a place to stay highly enough. It's been a joyful experience and we absolutely cannot wait to come back again...and again! Thank you Jo!

The property

Hayle 1.2 miles.

As the name suggests The Hideaway is tucked away in the charming small village of Phillack amidst the sand dunes which stretch from the town of Hayle approx one mile away and is about half a mile inland from St Ives bay on Cornwall's Atlantic ocean coast.

Accessing The Hideaway down a few steps you enter this delightful ground floor flat into the beautifully furnished and welcoming open plan living room with a contemporary kitchen with dining area and a comfortable sitting area looking out onto the garden.

There are two bedrooms, one either side of the living room with a double and a most unusual twin bedroom both with so much individual character.

The enclosed garden at the rear of the property is ideal for relaxing with the children, friends or dogs after a day on the beach or walking along the stunning coastal path.

Just a few yards away is the famous 18th century Grade 2 listed, Bucket of Blood Inn, a traditional dog friendly low beamed Cornish pub offering a great welcome , good bar food and locally brewed ales.

With Hayle close by and the magical town of St Ives only 9 miles away there will always be plenty to do and see from this cosy base but most will be more than happy to spend time on the local beaches and walking the breathtakingly beautiful coastal path.

A wonderful location for holidays and breaks throughout the year.

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 7 miles; Penzance 7.5 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafes where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries or admire the colourful sub tropical gardens. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre (35 mins), Falmouth Maritime Museum (40 mins), Eden Project (40 mins), St. Michael’s Mount (15 mins) and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
