  • "A lovely peaceful place to stay."

Amazing setting and views. Also everyone staying here at the fort are easy going laidback people who all were loving it. Some live here (lucky so and so's) and some on hols. The famous barbican and hoe always deliver. It is remote but cawsand and kingsand beach are about 2 mile walk along the coast path. That in it self is awesome ! Pubs, cafe's and water taxi runs to plymouth regularly.

  • "Lighthouse View was spotless, comfortable and had a great view."

You have to be organised regarding food etc as shops are a drive away. Great sat on the balcony watching the ships and boats go by. We were very lucky with the weather and quite often walked through the tunnel late afternoon to catch the sun as the balcony only gets the sun until lunch time. Great walks to Kingsand and Cawsand and in the other direction to Cremyll via Mount Edgecombe. A lovely relaxing holiday. Would recommend and love to go back.

  • "I loved the location."

It was wonderful sitting on the balcony, which was remarkably sheltered, watching the activity on the water and relaxing. The accommodation is well thought out and extremely comfortable.

If you want a quiet holiday this is the place to go amazing, and the whole fort is spotless not a scrap of paper or empty can anywhere and the apartment was the same spotless this is a must if you dont want to see lots of people

  • "We had issues with noise throughout our stay."

Directly outside there was major repair work under way which was noisy although access to the apartment was still ok. Added to this directly above us an apartment was has work done which was also noisy. The only way to avoid this was to go out early morning and not get back until around 5pm. This obviously impacted on the enjoyment of the week for us, having planned some lazy days reading on the balcony or in the grounds. We had stayed at the property at Christmas 2019 and the cost of this week was double the amount we paid for a Christmas week, so value for money was poor and disappointing

  • "My wife and I have lots of experience of holiday accommodation, Lighthouse View is without doubt the best we have experienced."

Clearly lots of thought and attention to detail was used by the owners in their preparation of the property. Many thanks for letting us share your dream, we will be back we hope. Brian & Jean Moore.

  • "Lovely apartment."

Beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The view is like a moving picture with the boats coming and going and the lighthouse twinkling at night. It is so quiet and perfect for getting away from it all in these difficult times with Covid. The apartment is arranged very well and although a studio, it is like a one bedroom apartment. Bathroom excellent and kitchen area lovely. Lovely walks surrounding Fort Picklecombe and pubs and restaurants in Kingsand and Cawsand. We had a wonderful week and would love to return to this peaceful beautiful apartment with it’s stunning views. Thank you.

About the location

KINGSAND

Plymouth 24 miles.

The twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, with narrow streets winding between pastel-coloured cottages, lie on the Rame Peninsula just 5 miles from Plymouth, but because the high ground of Mount Edgcumbe lies between, you are not aware of being near a large city. Instead, you can relax in the peace and quiet of village life, and look out over Plymouth Sound which offers calm waters ideal for watersports, fishing and bathing. Take a walk south along the coastal path to Penlee Point for the glorious views of Rame Head, towering above the sea, or, a walk north along the coast will take you to Mount Edgcumbe Park with fabulous views of Plymouth Sound. From Cawsand, take a ferry trip to Plymouth and visit the Aquarium, the historic Barbican or enjoy a spot of retail therapy. Just a mile west of Kingsand lies Whitsand Bay, with 4 miles of sandy beach and dramatic cliffs. You really are spoilt for choice in this ‘secret hideaway’.
