  • "We were looking for a rustic rural cottage and we certainly found this at Little Trespettigue It was everything we wished for yet only a couple of minutes drive off the A30 dual carriageway so no struggling down narrow Cornish lanes to find it."

We were greeted with a great smile by our hosts and shown the lay of the land. Inside we found a very generous welcome pack and a glorious log burning fire which was soon lit making the cottage so cosy and warm. The cottage had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Our two dogs loved our walks into the forest that backs onto the land behind. We would certainly recommend Little Trespettigue to anyone who like us love the peace and quiet of really rural life.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and were happy enough to book again. We both look forward to seeing you later in the season. Property Owner

  • "In need of some repairs and the garden wasn't secure from the owner's dogs"

Your comments are appreciated and we are sorry that our dogs affected your stay with us. They are only 2 small terriers. If we had known we would have taken measures to keep them in. The property is located within our land which the cottage has complete access to. We feel by making the garden hedge totally dog secure it would take away the rural idyll of free-range seclusion and freedom. We are aware the property is in need of some repairs which are in hand for when it is closed for a week beginning 3 December. Property Owner

  • "Great location for visiting all parts of Cornwall as central and only a minute away from the A30."

However, you wouldn't know it was that close to the road as the house itself was in a lovely peaceful hollow with forest walks from the door. House itself decently equipped and was cosy to stay in. Owners live on site and were friendly but unobtrusive. I did not realise when I booked quite how uneven and potholed the track to the house is as I only have a small car but it coped ok if you took it very slowly.

The track leading to the property has rustic charm and is part of the mystique which keeps the property secluded. It should be noted the drive is maintained on a regular basis to enable access by normal domestic vehicles. Property Owner

  • "We spent an amazing 5 nights at Little Trespettigue (5adults and 2 dogs)."

Property is in a wonderful location, with many walks from the doorstep which we took advantage of, including a walk through the forest to the local pub in Altarnun....very friendly. Tintagel Castle, the Eden Project and beautiful coastal path walks (especially Lantic Bay) are not too far away and well worth the effort. We spent all of our days out and about returning to Little Trespettigue lighting the wood burner and cooking together on an evening....just perfect for us. The hosts are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the local area and will make you feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend a stay at Little Trespettigue.

  • "We were very, very happy renting Little Trespettigue for a week over the New Year."

As parents, we loved it, and so did our two girls, especially due to the many birds, dogs, cats, horses and sheep, lots of life to enjoy seeing around, and the huge forest to explore just nearby! We absolutely enjoyed having a fireplace to set alight at the end of every wet and cold day. We were surprised by the facilities (especially for cooking) provided, we are so used to not having useful pans that we always bring our own, and this time that was absolutely not necessary! One thing that we could perhaps suggest to improve: waste management (e.g. green/brown, blue, black bins, ashes), although this must probably be dealt with at the community level if no facilities to separately collect these are presently provided. Simon (unfortunately Beverly was not around when we were there) was extremely friendly and helpful and we were very impressed by the generous welcome pack.

The cottage is lovely and the owner had kindly left us essentials on arrival which were generous. A Christmas tree and other tasteful decorations had been added, which were also a pleasant touch. The views from the cottage are wonderful, especially from the shower room and the cottage itself is well equipped, comfortable and provides everything needed. The setting of the cottage is perfect if you enjoy being out in nature and like peace and quiet. The woodland walks which are accessible from the back of the garden are very enjoyable and we just wish that we'd had more time to explore. The owner of the property named Simon is extremely helpful and welcoming and made us feel at home. It was a pleasure to meet him. .
