  • "This lodge was great for our first ever family get away with a 12 week old, had all the features as listed on the site, and really helpful having the electric charger for the car (albeit a slow charge)."

The lodge had everything we needed to cook on the nights we did, and the local pub was really nice, but is up a bit hill but not a busy road. Few bits of feedback would be, the bedding is very thick and no aircon in the lodge so was uncomfortable on the two hot days, so putting in some lighter bedding would be nice. The lodge hadn't been refreshed when we arrived and had out of date milk, we arrived after 3pm and then a cleaner turned up after we had arrived and already cleaned the sinks, the did update the milk, but maybe doing that before we arrived would have been nice. Finally bring toilet roll, as there was only two of us and not using it much but we ran out from what was in the lodge, and had to go buy some toilet roll which is annoying but not the end of the world. Don't let the above few things put you off, just want them to prepare you. It's a lovely lodge, close to loads of great places in Cornwall.

  • "We really enjoyed our holiday at Crocus Lodge."

Everything in the lodge that you would need for a holiday. Nice comfy beds, and lovely hot showers, no complaints! The holiday park was very quiet and extremely clean and tidy. One of the cleanest we have stayed at. We cannot fault it. Lovely places to visit, with not too far to travel.

  • "Lovely surroundings, very peaceful and quiet."

Very clean and tidy lodge, however lounge furniture and dining chairs a little tired and in need of replacing.

  • "The lodge was well-equipped and very comfortable, situated on a quiet, peaceful site in a rural setting."

The owner had provided a most comprehensive and informative folder of places of interest to visit. The property was a short walk from the village where the pub served a good range of meals. In all an excellent base from which to explore this part of Cornwall.

  • "Very welcoming and comfortable."

Well equipped, plus books and dvd's which is a nice touch. The bed and furniture was comfortable. but I don't think will last too long, due to the amount of use it gets. We would certainly go back again.

  • "Crocus Lodge is beautifully laid out."

Extremely comfortable and well equipped. A joy to spend time in. It is situated in the cleanest and tidiest park that I have ever come across. It is also away from worrisome traffic and noise. The owner of the lodge is attentive to your needs as is the owner of the site. We actually had a problem with our car on the way and arrived on the back of a transporter. The site owner recommended his own garage which effected repairs on the following day. A very relaxing holiday but within low distances to all the places that we wished to visit. One last thing! The lodge is the only place that I can remember where having woken up after the first night, that I didn't have a thumping headache from uncomfortable bed and/or pillows.

I would definitely go again. Things to consider. Some paint work needs updating. Other than that property was clean

  • "Lovely lodge on a really clean and tidy site."

Would certainly recommend as a great base to travel around Cornwall. Everything needed was at the lodge and it was clean and tidy. The site is really quiet and there are no shops onsite. Closest supermarket is 7 miles or so away so stock up.

  • "It was like a home from home holiday, lovely quite setting and produced a wow from both daughters when we first walked in."

Was hoping to rebook for next year , only to find the price had increased by 30% more, sad but true. Understand the late check in of 5pm, but do expect the place to be spotless, but some cupboards were dirty from previous guest and dirty crockery, do have photos to support issues.

  • "We loved our stay at Crocus Lodge."

The lodge was much more spacious than it looks in the pictures. It has everything we needed for a weeks stay, the welcome gifts were a lovely touch. The holiday park itself is quite and peaceful. It is the perfect location for travelling around Cornwall. We would recommend Polperro (stunning!), Mevagissey, fowey and Charlestown. We went to polkerris beach in the evenings, ate at sams on the beach and the kids played in the sea until the sun went down. Crantock beach has a stunning sunset! Thanks for a lovely stay, we will definitely be returning!

  • "Good location in a nice quiet, well kept site."

The lodge was well furnished and comfortable and having two bathrooms was ideal. It would be nice to have a folder with places of interest to visit,( including post codes) for people not familiar with the area. There were no cleaning products, loo rolls etc. Luckily we went prepared with our own supply. The list you provided (including post codes) of super markets was very useful.

Bodmin 5.5 miles; Fowey 7 miles.

A delightfully peaceful country town, nestling in the Fowey river valley amid the woods and fields that characterise the area. Renowned as a centre for the antiques trade, there are several shops and dealers in the town, as well as a fine collection of country pubs, restaurants and a thriving farmer’s market. Lanhydrock House (NT) and gardens is just 3 miles away, while the fabulous Boconnoc House, Eden Project, shipwreck museum and tall ships harbour at Charlestown, and the picturesque fishing villages of Mevagissey, Fowey and Padstow, with the famous Rick Stein restaurants, are all within easy driving distance. The tumbling Atlantic surf, long sandy beaches and dramatic coastline of the north coast, including at the renowned Newquay, make for great days out and there is also chance to enjoy river canoeing, biking, hiking and leisurely walks in this lovely area. The friendly locals also have ongoing activities, such as the raft race, the famous tug of war, Carnival week and seagull outboard motor races. The river Fowey runs from the town on its 8 mile journey through the fields and wooded valleys to the gentler southern coast, a natural paradise for those who love the sea. Centrally placed, with much to do and see in the immediate area, Lostwithiel is the perfect choice for those seeking a break away from the hectic pace of the tourist resorts.
