  • "Lovely cottage, everything we needed and very clean."

Lovely to have a bath and a shower. Great garden for us and the dog. Lovely to sit in the garden and relax. Lane very bumpy and a lot of pot holes. Local pub very welcoming for both human and dog. Apart from the bed needing a new mattress a great place to stay.

  • "A lovely cottage in a lovely village, very handy for the shop and pub both only 5 minutes walk away."

We booked to do plenty of walking which we did, cottage was a great base. Very comfortable and clean. Parking was a bonus, had read the other reviews and the potholed lane is a bit of a nightmare, but we took it steady in our little VW polo and all was ok. Ignore satnav and follow instructions provided as satnav tries to take you up a steep lane/footpath at the side of rainbow cottage!!!!!! Would stay again.

Perfect place for Summer (so long as competent and confident driver due to very narrow unmade road to property hardstanding with nowhere close to turn around so reverse back down potholed narrow road.) and great local pub just a short walk away - but would not go back in poor weather.

Spotlessly clean and the welcome hamper was gratefully received. May not be ideal for the less mobile due to uneven access. Parking no problem even with an mpv. Would happily return.

  • "The access and parking are really bad but could be improved if the bank were to be dug back."

It is possible to go further up the lane and turn, but I only discovered this after a walk to investigate. The front steps into the cottage are very high, about a foot, so not good if you have knee or hip problems. Might be possible to put a ramp in or reduce step heights. Also the stairs could benefit from an extra hand rail. Otherwise a really lovely cottage in a beautiful area.

The hedges at the side were cut back and the track evened out it would be better in the visitors book a few comments were about the parking and said they would not be going again because of the parking situation

  • "The parking space would be more accessible if the owner widened the entrance; this could be done with the minimum of expense."

Parking in is OK but reversing out is difficult because of the restricted turning circle. The bathroom extraction works but is very noisy taking an excessive time to switch off following a shower. Without these two minor problems our comfort would have exceeded expectations. Other than those two points we were very happy with the cottage, the high degree of privacy; the quality of cleanliness and the.comfort that the cottage provided. The pub is within walking distance it offers first class food and drink at sensible prices and the corner shop is a boon. Thank you Sykes. We will be looking to book through Sykes again. Also we will recommend Bellbine cottage to our friends and may well want to return in the future as it gave us a pleasant holiday.

  • "Bellbine cottage is a really lovely little place to stay."

It is very well set out with a very comprehensive cottage having every facility needed for a comfortable stay. We liked the bedroom specifically which was roomy and airy with two windows and a comfortable bed. The kitchen is very well equipped and a comfortable lounge. Its tucked away down a narrow lane, but is a peaceful and leafy location. There is a parking pace for one car, and yes its a bit tight but I have a large car and managed ok. You have to carry on up the narrow lane to a turning spot to come back down past the cottage. With a little care this is not a problem. There is a great pub just a short walk down the lane! The cottage was very clean and well looked after and in a central location making exploring Cornwall easy. Will definitely come back.

  • "The cottage was clean and comfortable and well located for our holiday."

There had been lots of comments about difficult parking but to be honest it wasn't that bad, but we're used to country life. The only thing that let this cottage down was the hot water system. Every time you used it it felt like the boiler was going to explode and it made such a noise. No chance of relaxing bath in this place. If that got fixed then the place would hit the mark.

  • "When we arrived at the cottage we were delighted how cosy, clean and well equipped it was, the welcome hamper a lovely surprise."

The Christmas lights around the cottage was appreciated and made it feel very seasonal. We found everyone we met to be so friendly and helpful. The local village store has a great selection and is reasonably priced. The Polgooth Inn is definitely worth a visit the food, staff and the open roaring fires were a delight. Tuesday it is quiz night which was fun and enjoyable. Buddy the dog was also made very welcome and loved the attention that he got. The lane and parking is a bit tricky, but once you get used to it not so bad. We will definitely be going back to stay. Thank you

I will definately return. Fantastic service from the owners. The cottage does have narrow access, but remember you are in Cornwall, i easily managed to turn a Land Rover. Loads to do, pub great, plenty of walks from the cottage door, panoramic views. Outstanding. Well done to the owners.

  • "This is almost a good cottage."

The downfalls are glaringly obvious. The approach is a rough track - beyond cottage owners' control and typical of the area. What they could fix are the parking spot and path. They are treacherous. The yard is also a letdown - nothing more than weedy broken concrete. The location is good for beaches and walks. Polgooth Inn and shop both invaluable.

Uess your driving a tiny smart car not really accessible we ended up parking in the village the whole week ..the outside space was disappointing as we felt we were in a goldfish bowl on view constantly .the saving grace was a fantastic pub less than 5 minutes walk away ...

  • "Directions were poor and the parking was never mentioned apart from one car only."

The area to part was very poor with hardcore to park on, when reversing out nearly hitting the wall behind, but for parking sensors we would have hit the wall, having to go up the lane to turn around in a wider area to come back down again. The garden area left a bit to be desired with only concrete and a bench to sit outside of the cottage. The cottage itself was very nice, apart from we could not open the lounge window as the neighbours garden was outside of this and we felt as if we had to keep the curtains closed which made it dark inside.

  • "The parking is on a gravel patch under a tree that leaves sticky residue on the car, we had to have 2 car washes to remove it."

The cottage is quite dark inside & the back window opens into next doors garden, which is a bit bizarre. Pub is excellent and 5 minutes max walk away. Nearest beaches are not dog friendly!

We had everything we needed including a lovely Welcome Pack. The outside was fully enclosed for the dogs to run around safely. The only problem was the Parking and Turning, some people could have difficulty, also as the parking is away from the cottage the gap between the cottage is very uneven and could cause problems for elderly or dissabled.
