  • "A beautiful house, tastefully decorated - loved the themed wall decorations, and especially the gorgeous countryside view from the lounge."

All essentials were provided, and some lovely scones, cream and jam on arrival, plus tea, coffee and milk - very welcome after a long drive. Instructions given for all appliances etc. and free Wi-Fi. We felt that the owners had gone the extra mile in making sure we had a trouble-free stay.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Orchard View. We very much hope to welcome you back again sometime. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic holiday at Orchard View Spent a week at orchard view, which was like a home from home, containing everything you could possibly need."

The house is impeccably decorated and clean, with nice views from the back. The welcome scones, clotted cream and jam went down a treat, and also the milk so we could have a cuppa as soon as we arrived after a long drive. There was also a cupboard containing all the cleaning products you could imagine if we needed anything. The split level bedrooms and bathrooms were great, allowing the older kids to have some space downstairs while we were upstairs. We enjoyed the use of the BBQ in the evenings when it wasn’t raining, although a light outside would have been great so we didn’t have to retreat back inside when it got too dark. We even had breakfast outside in the garden which was lovely. A short walk through the houses to the left and you’ll find the Polgooth Inn which had some amazing food. Marianne and Chris messaged to say the house was ready, and again the next day to check everything was ok, which was a nice touch. There really was everything provided that you could possibly need. Thanks for a great holiday, and we would definitely return again.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Orchard View. We very much look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. Property Owner

  • "This was a great VRBO It was very comfortable and clean."

My family had space and we were able to relax. The only reason for 4 stars verse 5 is because I've stayed at probably 30 VRBOs and although this one was in the top position there were just a few things I'd change. I have no complaints just suggestions. There is a washer (no dryer) but no place to hang your laundry. The only other thing is we had to go straight to the store for paper towels and a few other things that most VRBOs have to start with. Again this is not a complaint just a suggestion based on my experience with VRBO. We would definitely stay again! Thank you for sharing your home.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Orchard View. We have an outside rotary for drying your clothes and also 2 indoor dryers available inside the property. We also provide a welcome pack and provide everything you need for your stay in the cupboard in the hall which you are very welcome to use. We are so pleased you had a lovely time and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Property Owner

  • "Just come back from a fabulous week at Orchard view."

Good location to explore. Recieved a welcome text to say that the house was ready for us which I thought was a lovely touch. Scones jam and cream and milk on arrival was very welcoming. House and garden beautiful everything we needed. Loved the layout. Took my elderly Dad and Uncle so they were comfortable in the bedrooms on the top level and me and my husband downstairs out the way. The lounge downstairs was a good idea so no arguments on watching the TV. Thankyou so much Marianne and Chris for a perfect stay. Could not fault anything. Will recommend to friends and family.

Thank you so much for leaving such positive feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and made the most of the two lounges, one upstairs and one downstairs. We look forward to welcoming you back again and thank you for recommending us to your friends and family. Property Owner

The house was a good size for 8 people and was very hospitable. We didn’t need for anything and the views were absolutely beautiful. The owners do an amazing job in making the house feel welcoming and provided everything you would expect and more. The scones and fresh coffee were a real hit. We wouldn’t think twice about booking to stay again and would recommend to family and friends. Many thanks to Marianne and Chris!

  • "Wonderful cottage, ideal for a family of 7 including 2 elderly parents."

they were able to stay on one level with the ensuite and living area, no need to go up and down stairs. Bonus with an extra toilet as well as the bathroom, and ensuite. Having a multigenerational family (elderly parents, plus adult/ teenage children) this exceeded our needs. The garden was lovely to sit outside and read. We had the large living / eating/ kitchen area to all get together. But there was enough space to have 5 mins peace and quiet on your own too! Again ideal the bedroom with the ensuite had a telly. So parents could watch their soaps in bed!! As it was still Covid time, the kitchen was well equiped to make meals for all of us, with Aldi being only 10 mins away. The location was ideal too, next to Eden project, and Charlestown.

  • "The Owners were both accommodating and helpful."

We had everything we need; it was clean and well presented. The garden was beautiful, we enjoyed many breakfasts admiring the view. Hi, We originally booked a holiday with another company, which was cancelled one week before we were expecting to travel, due to a missinterpretation of the covid rules. We then booked with Sykes. Unfortunately on the day of our holiday we were told that we were unable to stay at the accomodation we booked. However unlike the original booking Sykes made every effort to find us alternative accommodation. Which, in my opinion was even better than the original booking Things go wrong, but its how you fix things is testament. Sykes were amazing. With only a few hours and limited Internet connection they did an amazing jjob to finding an alternative. We had a couple of queries due to messages not being received and everyone that answered the phone were courteous and knowledgeable. Re the accommodation (Family of 5) The owners only had a few hours to prepare for our arrival, but everything was perfect. We had everything we need; it was clean and well presented. The garden was beautiful, we enjoyed many breakfasts admiring the view. Orchard view is only a short walk, down an from the local but well stocked post office and a great pub.would thoroughly recommend and would thoroughly recommend the Polgooth Inn.
