  • "Exceeded our expectation!"

Lovely, beautifully converted barn. Everything we needed was there plus a wonderful welcome pack inclusive of a cornish cream tea! Spotlessly clean and thoughtfully laid out. Log fire for chilling out in evening. Kate was friendly, welcoming and very kind. Good position for travelling out to visit many Cornish places of interest.

The sign is small on entry to the accommodation and down the bottom of a dirt track, take your time and look out for the chickens and ducks in their pen , there is ample parking in front of the dairy a little Robin came to see us each morning, enjoy your stay.

  • "Kate and Terry have provided the ideal getaway in which to explore SW Cornwall."

Our one week stay was just perfect. A home-from-home experience to remember. Nothing more is wanted. On arrival high expectations were exceeded - waiting for us a table full of goodies and Cornish cream tea. And Kate and Terry are lovely too. The welcome pack also recommends places to visit and to eat at and both restaurants my wife and I used were superb. All-in-all many very pleasant memories from this part of Cornwall made extra special by The Dairy, and the hospitality and attention to detail provided by Kate and Terry. Kate’s scones were scrumpy! • "My family and I had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Dairy."

Lovely modern accommodation, clean and fully equipped a perfect home from home. Ideal location to discover the West of Cornwall with about 30 mins travel to visit popular destinations, St. Ives, The Lizard, St. Michaels Mount. Really felt welcomed by the host and invited to experience the goats and chickens that live in and around the property. My two daughters enjoyed the interaction and loved the tyre swing and playing hide and seek in within the secure outside areas. The youngest fell in love with "Verity" the farm cat and we have some lovely photos that are now on her bedroom wall. I would definitely recommend this property to anybody looking for either a relaxing break or a base to explore this part of Cornwall.

The location was easy to find and get to, ample parking and with all the facilities you could need as a couple staying for a week. Our hosts very kindly left us some superb and much appreciated welcome food and drink goodies and we felt very much at home here. The Dairy was very cosy and warm with some great design features and fittings. The location was superb for touring and visiting Cornwall and we made use of the this each day, finding and seeing many of the usual and also some not so busy small coves, beaches and villages. Kate and Terry have provided a "Real Gem" here and we would definitely be back in the future.

A little welcome pack had been left for us and the fresh scones were amazing! The hosts were very welcoming and super helpful giving us plenty of ideas for places to visit. My children both enjoyed their stay immensely and loved being able to see all the animals and feed the goats. It was a fabulous place to stay as it’s located between lots of different seaside beaches. Spotlessly clean and lots of amenities. We would stay here again and recommended this place to anyone! • "The cottage was lovely: tastefully and comfortably furnished with everything you need in the kitchen."

The extras of fresh flowers, scones, cream and jam, tea.coffee, milk, bread and some treats on our arrival were especially welcome after a long journey. Kate & Terry were super hosts - inviting us to bottle feed the 2 week old baby goats and milk the nanny goats, not forgetting the feeding of the pigs and chickens too! The vagaries of the Cornish weather meant the log burner was a bonus we used over several evenings and was easy to light. The infra red heating was wonderful, though you may want to bring slippers for the slate floor! The beds were very comfy with goose down duvets and the shower pressure was perfect. It is a lovely quiet location with plenty of beaches and walks nearby. Just a little note - be sure to allow plenty of time for travel if you plan to use the A30 as the most southern end is under construction and results in some delays.

Our hosts were absolutely amazing and the added bonus of being introduced to the goats, pigs and chickens with all the quirky names added a real “back to the good life” escape from the pressure of the everyday, out in suburbia. The cottage is fabulous and the little personal touches with our welcome hamper were a real bonus after a long drive. Nothing has been left out with the facilities in the cottage there’s everything you would need to cater for yourself, that said we decided to eat out and explore the vast amount of tea shops, pubs, bakeries and not forgetting the pancake house for a real treat which is a few minutes up the road. The STAR Inn was one of our favourite places to eat with great food, friendly staff and a good choice of food and drinks. Finally saving the best till last Kate and Terry are such lovely people and the Cottage was extremely comfortable with a very nice and relaxing atmosphere somewhere to unwind in comfort and reminisce about our daily adventures and discoveries in such a beautiful part of the country. We will be recommending this to all our friends and family and we hope to book a return visit soon.

We felt at home as soon as we arrived. The lovely hosts ,Kate and Terry, work very hard to ensure guests in all areas of this spacious property (they also have two Yurts and B&B rooms) have a lovely time. The cottage had everything we needed. There was a very nice welcome pack , which combined basic useful items and some treats. The scones and jam deserve a special mention. The chickens, ducks, pigs, goats and friendly black and white cat added to the charm of this delightful place. There were some lovely countryside walks from the doorstep but it’s a very good location to reach the coast easily. There is quite a narrow lane leading to the property but it is relatively short and you are quickly onto a B road leading you to lovely places in both directions. It was incredibly peaceful .. the only noise at night was the owls! We hope to return soon.

There was a generous, thoughtful welcome pack and the cottage had everything one could ask for. Trenear is a wonderful base from which all the great and beautiful places are within easy reach (provided one has a car) and the Café at the nearby Homestead is fabulous too. The only minor little detail for those who prefer dark rooms: the curtains in the 'green room' are not very dark and let light from main house through - but with a sleeping mask no problem at all :-) We had a fantastic time and would love to come back!

Hi Anne and thank you for that lovely review! Useful to know about the curtains, I shall buy some extra ‘blackout’ liners to sort that out. Many thanks and we hope to see you again! Best wishes, Kate Kate Property Owner

A great location for visiting Southern Cornwall, many of the sites, The lizard, Kynance Cove, Mullion, Helston, Truro, Falmouth, St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Portleven, Portreath and Lands End were within or just over 30mins drive. The Dairy, being on a small farm was an ideal retreat to go back to after a day out, and our hosts, Terry and Kate were so friendly and helpful, you must have a walk to see the chickens and the goats! A local pub, 'The Star' at Porkellis was 10 minutes in the car, the owners were really welcoming and did superb food. Was there anything we didn't like - No, was there anything that could be improved - No, maybe perfection for us.

The facilities were really good - very fresh and stylish with lots of comfy throws and cushions. The welcome pack was amazing and the owners were very helpful when I wanted to use the washing machine and dryer facilities ( the weather was appalling on one day and we got very wet). The only point was that the lane to get to the farm was like a stream due to the bad weather- we have a very high car and had no problems but you would have had issues in a very low car with poor ground clearance.
