  • "Lovely cottage, well equipped, comfortable and spacious."

Walk up the hill to the car keeps you fit! Enjoyed being in the village, close to the pub and recommend the fish and chips from “The Mote”. Only disappointment was the lack of equipment for the open fire and no wood etc included despite the listing saying all fuel / power included.

  • "This is one of the cottages we always wanted to stay in but it was always full booked, so we was pleased we managed to get a booking for brook cottage."

But on arrival we were disappointed the carpets settee & cushions were grubby & stained, there it mould on the walls in one of the bedrooms the showers worked fine but the down stairs one need up dating! My wife noticed stains on the bedding The best part of the cottage was location, but cottage needed to be revamped '' such a shame some TLC would go a long way to bring a lovely cottage back to it former glory We have been to Port issac for my years & stayed in quiet a few different cottages with John bray over the years, but sadly will not be booking a holiday in Brooke cottage in the near future... • "We absolutely loved our stay at Brook Cottage."

The location is perfect and it's literally less than 1 min walk to the harbour. We loved having the garden to sit in and our children loved having a bit of outdoor space to play in, which is rare in a cottage so central. It was a great base for exploring nearby and we'd definitely come back. Thanks for a great stay.

  • "A comment we would like to pass on to the owner is that it was a really lovely cottage, very nicely decorated and we felt at home as soon as we arrived - really lovely stay."

The garden was particularly lovely to have and we appreciated the recliners!

The property

In a beautiful position in the heart of Port Isaac sits the charming, historic home Brook Cottage.

With an unusually spacious and well-kept private garden, as well as character features throughout, this is a wonderful holiday home for a family looking to enjoy a memorable North Cornwall break.

Upon entering the kitchen, the first thing you will notice is the traditional fisherman cottage features, like the beamed ceiling and the slate flooring, coupled with more contemporary shaker-style units.

This is a clean, stylish and comfortable place to prepare family meals, whilst the warm sitting/dining room adjacent has a delightful stone fireplace with open fire.

Also on the ground floor is a family shower room.

To rest your head after a day of exploring the coastline, make your way to the first floor where you will find three comfortably furnished double bedrooms and a spacious family bathroom.

One of the highlights of this holiday home is its garden; with borders of shrubs and plants, two furnished patio areas for alfresco dining and relaxing in the sunshine, not to mention a summer house, this is a superb place to unwind in peace and tranquillity, whilst remaining just a stone’s throw from the water’ edge.

Take the short walk from Brook Cottage down to Port Isaac’s harbour, or head out for a stroll along the coast path, perhaps venturing to one of the nearby coves.

Or why not head to one of the many fantastic eateries nearby for a fantastic seafood lunch, before ambling back for an afternoon doze in the garden.

Looking to see more of North Cornwall’s coastline?

Polzeath, Rock and Daymer Bay can be easily reached, whilst the beaches of Mawgan Porth and Newquay, and the National Trust property Lanhydrock are around 40 minutes’ drive by car.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.
