  • "The perfect get away house."

Cosy yet spacious and very well appointed with everything you could possibly need to ensure a relaxing break. The views from the house over port Isaac harbour are a wonderful way to wile away a few hours and unwind. The many walks from the front door allows the freedom to explore this spectacular corner of Cornwall.

  • "I can't say enough good things about The Folly 2."

My wife and I treated ourselves to this wonderful property because of it's location, beauty, and prominence in Doc Martin. We had never visited England or Port Isaac so this was a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. The inside is as wonderful as the outside. Clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. We only had one question for the owner and she answered it quickly and graciously. We would definitely return.

Thank you so much for your comments - I am so delighted you had a good stay wonderful Port Isaac and found The Folly to be comfortable - I do hope you return one day meanwhile safe travels and haste ye back Kind regards Claire Property Owner

  • "The house is lovely with a fantastic view over the harbour."

Claire was very helpful and responded to all my queries very promptly and with detailed information. The drive up to the house is quite a challenge but worth it for the view and being in a prime location within the village. Good restaurants within walking distance of the house was a bonus.

  • "We had a lovely stay in Folly 2!"

Despite some unsettled weather we were able to do some great rock pooling, walks and sit out on the patio and enjoyed watching the world go by! It really has the most incredible view from there and the house was so comfortable and had everything we needed. Claire (owner) was so helpful and lovely when we had a query too! We were only 4 in the end (not 6) so we used the bedrooms on the first floor. The only slight issue was that the top floor smelled a bit damp when we arrived (one of the reasons we used the middle floor) but it’s hardly surprising, given the unseasonably wet weather we’ve had and being north facing/next to the cliff face. It was remedied with the heaters on for a bit. Thanks again Claire for a great stay. We’ll be back!

Hello Louise Thank you so much for your kind comments, I am delighted you enjoyed your stay at Folly 2 it means alot..... Yes I think the horrendous rain has taken its toll and I will certainly look (and sniff) at the top floor when I am down in a few weeks to ensure it smells wonderful - thank you for that feedback. Wishing you a lovely rest of summer Claire Property Owner

  • "Folly 2 is beautiful."

It was spotless and had everything we needed for our holiday. A welcome pack would be helpful. We didn’t find outdoor cushions for 2 days. Information about bins and rules might be helpful. The outdoor space is limited although a couple of sun loungers would be an excellent addition. I was ill for 2 days and would have enjoyed lying outside while everyone was out. On the whole, a fabulous house which was beautifully presented.

Thank you for comments. We are in the process of updating our information pack for the property. I hope this didn't impair on your holiday to much and we can welcome you back very soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner Property Owner

  • "We were emailed on Saturday of our stay."

We replied to this but on further investigation realised when returned home, we saw this was a no-reply email. This is not advised on the email. The below were also unsatisfactory at best: 1 - the property is not family-friendly. There is no child-friendly crockery or cutlery 2 - despite being listed as family-friendly, there was no cot or high chair. Poor at the cost of the stay 3 - fridge - had missing shelves etc. made very small for 2 families 4 - second-floor bedroom had no blind. This led to our children taking a long time to go to sleep and waking up at 0430. Hardly a recipe for a relaxing holiday 5 - No hairdryer. Poor for a family-friendly stay and for the cost of the holiday 6 - No toiletries - poor for the value of the holiday 7 - No dishwasher tablets - poor for the value of the holiday 8 - Only one set of keys. Poor for a 2-family house 9 - No instructions on parking. Lead to lots of passive-aggressive contact from the adjoining properties management company 10 - Heaters, all unplugged and unprogrammed with no instruction manual. Not the most welcoming intent or use in a cold house. Thankful we weren't staying in winter 11 - No instruction manual for the property. 12 - access road. The info on this was not in line with the difficulty of the road 13 - Bins - neither bin took the glass, it seemed the recylcing box for this was missing 14 - outside seats - the cushions were not fit for purpose and could not be used with the seating. Made enjoying the outside space very difficult 15 - no BBQ - very poor considering the cost of the stay

  • "We enjoyed our honeymoon here the view’s are fantastic, we did find a few hairs in the bath and on dining room table and living room and under the sheet on the bed when we removed them to strip the linen before we left the hairs were all the same short and black , the cheese grater was also broken so maybe a check of utensils and there was no measuring jug , im wondering if it was the cleaning staffs hair because if it being under the sheet , it did make me feel a little uneasy of the cleaning process , we would also recommend a upgrade to the tv a free view or sky if it was available to the area ,other then that the house is beautiful and the scones left were beautiful."

  • "We were very comfortable and happy staying in the Folly."

There were a couple of cracked pieces of crockery which should have been removed - and someone had tried to light the battery operated candles - picky things but we were concerned that we would be blamed! Otherwise, perfect.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you had a lovely stay at The Folly 2 and had the chance to make the most of the local amenities! We appreciate you bringing the cracked crockery and burnt candles to our attention. This will be investigated by our housekeeping team, promptly and removed. • "We've been using The Folly 2 for several years now and love the property."

Already booked for next year, we love the village and have been visiting for 15 years. We moved from using Northcliffe when that was sold & are so happy we chose this property. it's always clean, well presented and really does feel like home. Disappointed that we aren't able to take the dog anymore, and that the booking process has changed so that returning customers are no longer able to book the property for the same week each year but I guess things change. It won't stop us trying.

Hello Mr Williams there is a new system at Sykes/John Bray it allows me to respond to guests comments - I have been going back and read your comments with delight - I am always striving to ensure the Folly is comfortable. I am really happy for my regular guests to review the dog policy (I had a few rogue incidents re dogs and wanted to ensure the house is always tip Top) - but for loyal guests I am happy to accept their dog staying - a dog makes Cornwall such fun kind regards Claire Property Owner

With private parking for one car, spectacular views, and four bedrooms and three bathrooms, Folly 2 is an ideal choice for a family or group of friends looking for a relaxing retreat in Cornwall.

The property is furnished to a high standard throughout and the large windows in all the rooms at the front of the house highlight the amazing views.

The kitchen is sleek and modern and has plenty of of gadgets, including a range cooker, to rustle up a hearty meal.

The dining room has a large table to accommodate all the friends and family guests, and the original fireplace keeps a real feel of opulence to the occasion.

After dinner, retire to the luxurious sitting room and curl up on the cosy sofa or settle down at the window seat and watch the comings and goings in the harbour.

There are four bedrooms spread across the first and second floors: two king-size rooms on the first floor, both with sea views, and a double and a room with two single beds on the second floor.

There is a family bathroom on both the first and second floors, as well as an en-suite shower room in one of the king-size bedrooms.

On sunny days the family can congregate around the picnic bench on the terrace or lawned area at the front of the house, enjoying a cream tea or ice cream.

Port Isaac has a long association with fishing, and you can still watch the boats come and go out of the harbour.

Port Isaac has a small sandy beach but if you are looking for a greater expanse of sand then you can travel along the coast to Polzeath Beach, Trebarwith Strand or any of the beaches dotted around Newquay.

After a day of exploring the coast, return for a good night sleep at Folly 2, ready to do it all over again the next day.
