  • "Lovely cosy cottage, stayed in a few cottages in port Issac & this is one of our favourites."

Few things that would further improve it…. Lamp in living room, blind over the front door window, more up to date tv in bedroom, and would liked to have seen Christmas decorations/lights given time of year would have made it that extra special & cosy. We will definitely book Homelands cottage again

I’ve lost count of the times we’ve stayed here. Really feels like a home form home. Fantastic position in the village. No cars and all you can hear are the seagulls. Can’t wait to go back.

  • "The cottage is gorgeous and wonderful views down dolphin, located just behind the harbour."

Homelands is beautifully furnished and very comfortable, the two large bathrooms are fab. The kitchen is well equipped. Great to have a full height fridge freezer, but needs a bit of TLC and a coffee maker/cafetière would be good. The only negative is the hoover - sorry but to be blunt it is rubbish (I tried cleaning the filter and checked for blockages). Still 5 stars and I can’t recommend highly enough.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's great to hear that you had such a fabulous stay and had the perfect base to explore the local area from. We will raise the poor hoover with the owner and we would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

A lovely cottage with a very homely feel. It was very well equipped and maintained very well. The location is beautiful but not for everyone as it involves hills. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone seeking a relaxed holiday in a stunning location. Thank you from the Hale family.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Homelands with our two children."

The cottage was very clean and has excellent facilities, including a well equipped kitchen. The location is excellent and the secure balcony at the front is a sun trap! The bedrooms & two bathrooms were spotless, and the beds really comfortable when compared to other properties we have stayed in. Parking wasn’t an issue, we just paid £35 for a week long pass in the car park at the top of the village. Will definitely return to Homelands.

  • "The cottage is lovely, overall very well equipped and Port Isacc made a great base for the first week of our holiday - the village is very quite with a lovely atmosphere once the day trippers had departed and as we weren't there during the day it was perfect!"

The washing machine/tumble dryer needs replacing - with no where outside to dry washing and the tumble dryer being useless this needs addressing. It needs to be more clearly stated both how tricky vehicle access is at both ends of the stay - if we had young children to supervise whilst ferrying belongings to and from the car it would have been a nightmare equally for those not familiar with PI the roads around the cottage are very steep - again difficult for anyone who is not reasonably fit.

We have been reviewing all of our feedback over last years season, we just wanted to say a massive thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay. • "Hi, we had a very nice stay in Homelands Port Isaac, after travelling 11 hours from Ireland we arrived and followed the instructions regarding temporary parking and unpacking our car etc, we then went and parked our car and walked back to the cottage."

When we got here, very tired from the journey we were very disappointed to discover no welcome pack, not even milk or a teabag, nothing! Even the salt and pepper pots were empty, we then had to walk up past the car park to go to the Co-op, I have been travelling to Cornwall for 15 years and stayed in quite a lot of cottages and there has always been a welcome pack. When my partner was taking our luggage in, the cleaner was leaving and had welcome backs with her but she didn’t leave it, we did pay alot for a 3 night stay and expected a little gesture Very disappointedT

  • "We had a lovely stay in Homelands."

The cottage was cosy and comfy with a well stocked kitchen with crockery and utensils. There was even a helpful package of bin bags, washing up liquid and cloths supplied. We realised very quickly that most of the people visiting the village are Doc Martin fans and the tour guide stops outside the cottage at 11:30am and 1:30pm. We weren’t expecting to be photographed when we chose the cottage online! A great cosy cottage, located close to the town centre and we loved its little patio area which was perfect for the dog to be enclosed in too! Would highly recommend!

  • "John Bray sent me the wrong code and a map to a car parking space in Port Isaac, which we found out in the end we didn’t have access to."

Thankfully because of the kindness of strangers, our neighbour told us the right code. We arrived on Saturday 21st August and the time we could get into the property was 4; so I called about the key code and was on hold for ages until there was no point. This was a nightmarish start to our holiday and we will not be recommended your company.

  • "We reported no wire grill tray in oven and were told one would be dropped off but it didn’t appear."

Electric ‘log burner’ does not work and neither does the kitchen kick space heater- both are broken. I would recommend the washer/ drier is also replaced. The drier doesn’t even remove the slightest moisture and gets very hot when in use. The en suite bathroom window doesn’t close- a problem on a windy night. We did however really enjoy our stay at this otherwise well equipped cottage.

  • "Firstly, thank you for another wonderful holiday."

We can't wait to return to Homelands in September for 2 weeks. The cottage is superb with everything we could possibly need. It's even better than last year now that bedlinen and towels are provided. The cleanliness is 10/10 and the position on Dolphin Street is fantastic. Love the little patio and with the fence you get all the privacy you need. We love the walk from Polzeath to Rock via Daymer Bay. Being National Trust members we make use of the Lundy Bay carpark and walk from there. The Rock Inn is a great place for lunch especially if you're lucky enough to get a table on the balcony looking out to Padstow. Boscastle is another favourite. A lovely little village with some great walks. Last September (when we first stayed in Homelands) we did the walk from Port Isaac to Port Quin via the coastal path. Phew. Great views and so many steps. Loved it though but we were pleased to be able to walk back overland. There are too many places to mention them all individually but how can I not mention Port Isaac. The jewel in the crown. I could easily live there. Such a pretty village with all the individual houses and steep windy lanes. Absolutely fell in love with it when we first arrived last year and feel the same now. Finally I work in Customer Service and just wanted to say a big 'thank you' to the team. Whenever I've emailed, phoned or called into the office everyone had been really friendly and helpful. I know how important this is from both sides. Thanks again and see you in September.

The property

Homelands is a traditional white-washed stone cottage, located in the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac.

Full of character and charm, Homelands has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and has a been used as the home of ‘Aunt Ruth’ in the TV series Doc Martin.

The front entrance has a small patio enclosed by a white picket fence; a lovey spot to sit when the sun is shining and look down upon the village.

Walk through to a cosy living/dining area that has a large stone fireplace and electric fire – perfect for warming up after a walk along the coast.

The kitchen has been finished to a high standard, with plenty of space for preparing and cooking food, and a ground-floor shower room also doubles up as a handy utility room.

The two bedrooms upstairs, a double and a twin, both have a lovely homely feel thanks to the exposed beams, wooden window shutters, and a tasteful decoration.

Port Isaac is only a small village but there are plenty of shops, pubs, and restaurants to keep you entertained and well fed.

Within a short drive is the fishing town of Padstow, where you can sample the local seafood in some of the many restaurants, visit the beach, cycle along the Camel Trail, or spend the day at the National Lobster Hatchery.

Homelands is a fantastic property for a relaxing getaway on the Cornish coast.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions including the dramatic Doyden Castle, the beautiful Lundy Bay and the famous Doc Martin's clinic.
