    “This was our 2nd successive year at Scuppers (10th stay in Port Isaac) and it was as good as last year.”

    The cottage is fully equipped, the decoration “as new” and cleanliness was excellent. The views from the terraced garden are beautiful and it’s a real sun-trap in the mornings - great for breakfast outdoors. The cottage is very close to the pubs in the harbour area, so a good central location. It also has a private parking spot just up the (very steep) hill, which is a big bonus on that side of the village. ...

The property

Located within a two-minute stroll of Port Isaac’s picturesque harbour, Scuppers is a fully renovated 200 year old slate-clad former fisherman’s cottage, providing a comfortable, homely base for your holiday in Cornwall.

Accommodating five people plus two dogs, guests can relax in the terraced garden with views out to sea, or snuggle by the woodburning in the sitting room during the colder months; brimming with character and charm, this is a desirable retreat all-year-round.

Whilst the property has been stylishly finished inside, there are still an abundance of features hinting at the cottage’s past – with beautiful slate flooring, original sash windows and traditional beamed ceilings to name just a few.

On the ground floor is a sizeable sitting room with a woodburning stove, dining area for family meals, and a well-designed kitchen.

On the first floor are three bedrooms, including a master double, twin and single room, all serviced by a shared family shower room.

Outside, accessed from the first floor, is a pretty garden comprising two terraces – the lower terrace is a wonderful place to enjoy a morning coffee, whilst the upper more spacious terrace is the perfect area for lunch with views over the harbour and beyond.

Whilst the property benefits from an allocated parking space for one car at the top of Church Hill, allowing you to explore North Cornwall’s beaches close by like Polzeath and Daymer Bay as you please, for those looking for rest and relaxation you may wish to simply leave your car parked for the week and explore on foot.

Port Isaac is a true gem on North Cornwall’s coastline with countless eateries, shops and beaches, whilst the coastal path provides walking opportunities galore!

For an excellent family base from which to explore Port Isaac in any season, look no further than Scuppers for a quaint central cottage.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.
