"A lovely apartment, beautifully accessorised."
The bed was so comfortable we slept well every night. Very clean. The oven door did feel like it could break and some of the trays for the oven didn’t fit. We had everything we needed to cook though. The only negative points were there was a very strong damp smell that only started to subside towards the end of the stay. The wood chip wallpaper suggested a need for a little updating. A great location for visiting all the beautiful areas around.

The flat had super views over the garden. Good standard of conversion to flat. Facilities were comfortable, especially the beds. Made for an enjoyable 'switch off' stay.

"Port Navas is in a remote part of Cornwall, which we loved."
Very quiet, peaceful with a gorgeous garden. You do have to travel by car to enjoy a meal or drink out. The surrounding area and Pubs are very good.

"Absolutely beautiful holiday apartment within an old 1920's Georgian-style house which houses approx 5 apartments."
Off-street private parking area. Very isolated and quiet with the most wonderful large gardens including a Japanese garden. Very high-ceilinged rooms with a lot of original features and the most lovely garden views from the bay windows. No facilities in Port Navas apart from Yacht Club (which serves very good food at reasonable prices) and very narrow lanes to negotiate for a few miles before reaching anywhere with shops, restaurants, beaches, etc. Slightly disappointed that we could only get BBC1 on tv but did not spoil a brilliant holiday. Would probably suit nature watchers/ walkers rather than families with younger children and their holiday expectations. Challenging driving for owners of larger vehicles.

"Plates and cooking equipment greasy and dirty, other guests stated they had a cream tea or flowers etc , we got a pint of milk!"
The television was run through a humax box which did not work and spent a week only having bbc 1 with 2 small kids, bedside lamp didn’t work one side , lightbulbs out in the master bedroom . No DVDs as stated but some scruffy books and maps and smelt blankets. So Covid couldn’t be the excuse. No hand sanitiser anywhere , no clear bin bags as stated. The flat is tired, dirty skirtings, bathroom lock practically hanging off, front door scruffy lock surround loose and edge of the door looks like someone had to force it. Instructions on finding the property poor and other residents didn’t follow any parking instructions to therefore getting in and out was a mess. For the money we spent this was a disgrace and the fact the owner has cupboards full of boxes saying property of owner, rent a store unit and tidy the place up I would be ashamed to let this and that condition.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, we take all comments seriously and are sorry to hear that your stay was less than satisfactory. The owner did try to help you with the TV via email and thought the matter
was resolved as they did not hear from you again. We have had no housekeeping complaints for two years so I was surprised to hear of problems and I apologize for that.
Please note that many items in the flat are required to be packed away because of COVID. This includes DVD's, books and some of the cushions. This was carried out for your safety. Property Owner

"We had a lovely stay at Gwydhen."
The apartment was very comfortable, clean and contained everything we needed for our stay. The area is incredibly peaceful and we felt so relaxed - with busy days and quiet nights, we all slept very well. We also felt that all covid-related measures were appropriate and didn't impact on the comfort of our holiday.
I'd stress a bit more in your listings that access to Gwydhen and the Port Navas area generally is narrow and tucked away. Trewince Lane in particular was tight and might not be suitable for those with larger/wider vehicles, and it took some time to travel out of the area when going on a day trip. Probably not the property for nervous drivers or those very attached to their car's bodywork! We'd also advise that visitors make sure they've got the provisions they need before they head to the property - once we were 'in' we definitely didn't want to head out again and shops locally aren't in abundance.
Another thought was having somewhere at the property to dry out beach equipment. It would be really handy if somewhere at Trewince House could be created (an outhouse, shed or similar) for body boards, beach shoes etc to be placed at night. We kept these things out of Gwydhen but my car did get a bit stinky by the end of the week after storing them in there!

"Advice/Instructions sent out in advance were excellent."
Accommodation was as expected and well appointed.
Can get a bit chilly (largely due to age of building and high ceilings etc?).
Only complaint was that someone had left out paper, firelighters and some logs by the open fire.. but no smaller bits of wood/kindling.. making it impossible to actually get a fire going (and we couldn't forage for sticks in the grounds as it was both dark and very wet!)

"Loved the little touch of the cream tea for us on arrival."
Place was really clean and tidy and had everything we needed. A cosy retreat to come back to at the end of the day. Would have been good if firewood was provided - we ended up buying our own as there were only two logs on our arrival.

"The apartment is really nice to come back to after a day out, clean and very comfortable."
Its spacious and classy, elegant. The only downsides are that the bathroom is cold and the TV channels were locked with no PIN.
** Owner response - We are glad you found Gwydhen such a comfortable welcoming place to return to after days out. We resolved the code on the TV as soon as we knew the service provider had implemented this and have now had a new far more efficient large electric towel rail installed in the bathroom to keep future guests toasty warm! "Flat was disappointing despite the very nice gesture of all the components for a cream tea on the table."
The fridge was missing the front part of two glass shelves - and had obviously been switched off for cleaning - but not switched on again so on arrival, water had leaked out onto the kitchen floor. This was just as well as the floor was quite grubby (the floor by the freezer particularly) so the mop was useful on two counts. The decor is generally very tired; blinds in the kitchen and bathroom repeatedly failed (we appreciated the available step ladder to fix them each time), the curtains in the lounge had broken hooks so one curtain had a significant 'flap', the cold tap in the bathroom swivelled as it was turned off and on and the general cleaning was pretty poor.
** Owner response - We have replaced all the window coverings with new custom made thermally lined roman blinds, redecorated, installed a new fridge, dishwasher and microwave, updated the bathroom and we are very pleased with our new housekeeper and would love to welcome you back in 2019 Property Owner

"When we arrived at the property we were rather disappointed to see building work & materials at entrance, & an old car that had obviously been there quite awhile taking up space in the small parking area."
The garden area consisted of some beautiful trees & shrubs, but apart from the lawn area in front of the house which was kept cut the rest was rather overgrown , including the Japanese garden.
The apartment was spacious, well equipped & comfortable, but looking rather tired, & could do with some attention, including the lounge carpet. The beautiful Cornish country side more than made up for any shortfall in the apartment.
** Owner response - we love the gardens and glad you appreciated them, thankfully the neighbouring property has now completed their building work. Property Owner

"We enjoyed our holiday and the apartment was as described - light & airy in beautiful grounds."
If you are a couple and only using the main bedroom, you would be fine but, if you need to use the 2nd bedroom, the noise from the children in the next door apartment will wake you up - at around 6.30am every morning! They are very pleasant, happy children but you will be aware of them.
** Owner response - it is always difficult to anticipate who may occupy an adjoining apartment, however we are delighted that the new neighbour also enjoys peace and tranquility which will make it more comfortable for both bedrooms to be used without disturbance. Property Owner

Welcome gifts were a lovely touch. Beautiful gardens in a quiet setting. The local os maps of footpaths were useful, as not all clearly marked en route. Good walking and picturesque countryside. Worth a trip if you need a rural get away from it all holiday.
