  • "I absolutely loved my stay here."

It's a beautiful place, very well kept. We were lucky with the weather too. I especially appreciated the little touches of bread, butter and milk left in the fridge. It was a lovely surprise. The accommodation was more than I expected and situated in a great location. We were able to walk to a beach within 5 minutes. Everything you could want was close by. Thank you so much for sharing your holiday home with us. We would definitely be coming back again.

  • "The property was excellent and well furnished and the welcome package of milk, bread and butter, in the fridge was really welcoming, after braving the deluge, commonly called the British summer."

The property was quite a hike from the local shop and pubs, so a car was needed. Unfortunately, due to the monsoon season that we encountered, we couldn’t use a lot of the outside spaces, but in the few hours of sunshine, when we could use the outside spaces, they were well positioned, but the cushions on the wooden chairs were absolutely sodden and didn’t look too inviting, even if they had stayed dry. But if that’s the only bad point, that’s probably scraping the barrel. Overall, the cottage was good, the showers were great ( indoor, not the weather god’s ones

  • "We have had a great holiday at the Atlantic Edge in Cornwall."

The beach was just a short walk down the side of the hotel and there were many others beaches that we had access to also, which were beautiful. The accommodation was as it stated on the listing and the property owner could not do enough to accommodate us. It was clean and everything was thought of even milk, bread and butter in fridge on arrival. If we had ,had any issues whilst we were there which we didn't the owner told us to call her and I'm sure they would have sorted it for us. Thanks for a lovely stay, hope to be back soon

We have stayed in the complex before, but not this number. Comfortable bed, lovely and clean. Loved the welcome pack for the dog. Had contact numbers if any problems, and lots of space for our surf equipment. Looking forward to next year.

  • "Property was in a great location but it was very tired."

Legs on chairs close to breaking. Walkway decking stairs unsafe and rotting. Grill doesn’t work. Washing machine had a mind of its own. Window in lounge doesn’t lock - can be pushed open. Balcony collects water and becomes dangerously slippery.

Thank you for your feedback it would have been good if you had let us know the problems arising during your stay at the time so that we have could have tried to sort at least some of them out to enhance your stay and also make sure everything was sorted for the guests following you. I did not receive your feedback until 5 days after you had left. .The grill not working was due to a fuse and as soon as we ascertained that it was sorted straight away. There is a new washing machine being fitted today and the window engineer is coming tomorrow. The balcony is awaiting review by the builders who fitted it recently. We are unable to locate any broken chairs except outside. Unfortunately the outside steps do not belong to us but to the hotel and we have raised this issue with them several times and have added your concern to ours. As you can see we take all complaints seriously but would just like to receive them directly at the time.Thank you Property Owner

  • "We could only fault the accommodation in 2 areas."

The first was the cleanliness of all the drawers, I don’t feel they had been cleaned properly as there was crumbs, and dust, and the odd hair in them. The second problem, was the damp in the bedrooms. This really does need tending to. Other than that, we had the best time there. The apartment is centrally situated. The living area felt cosy, and everyone was friendly. Fab holiday all round.

  • "Whilst the property was generally clean it is very tired in our opinion and requires decoration."

The main bedroom smelt very fusty and the carpet was very dirty and worn and the bedding was also very worn! Damp was very evident in the bathrooms. Outside there was evidence of rotting decking approaching the property and was generally unkept in our opinion! There was no on site facilities and the hotel advertised has clearly been closed for some time with the obvious effects on the tidiness of its surroundings!

Small beds. Dust and peanuts under chairs and beds. Used man's razor in bedside drawer. House is lovely and kitchen facilities good but worktops sticky and white goods needed a wipe down. A lovely house just needs a good wipe down.

  • "The car parking was problematic due to other guests parking over the markings so we couldn’t get in."

Also people parking in the wrong bays. The hob was an issue as it stopped working on the front right ring (could be the pans). The size of the frying pans were too small. The kitchen would benefit from an update and more equipment would be beneficial. The quality of the towels was poor and no hand towels were provided. The site looks a little tired especially the maintenance of the decking and the outside table was worn and grubby. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location was good.

Thank you for your feedback. Apologies for the parking issues, these are completely out of our control. In regards to the issues with the Hob and the towels had we been made aware at the time we could addressed these for you during your stay. We have reduced the equipment in the property as advised under Covid guidelines. We are pleased this did not impact on your time here and you still enjoyed your stay. Hope to welcome back again. • "This holiday home is lovely, the walk into Newquay is great, especially if you have a dog."

My only criticisms is the parking is not near your home, and when we arrived it was raining so we had to run with our stuff, also in the amenities it says washer/dryer but there is no dryer only a clothes airer, so when we washed our towels we had to put them outside but due to the British weather it rained so it was difficult to get anything dry, the only way was to put the heating on but that made it boiling. Other than those 2 criticisms we had a lovely holiday and the treats for the dog is a lovely touch.

  • "It would be helpful to advise future guests of the access to the property."

We were a party of three, my mother being 84 and less able bodied. There is a fair walk from the car park which we were unaware of until we paid the balance on the property. Additionally, there were a number of steps both down and up to reach the front door. None of this is mentioned in your details prior to booking. It would certainly have influenced our decision regarding booking this particular property. Full disclosure is needed!

Thank you for your feedback. The owner is sorry to hear of your issues regarding the access to the property. The listing has been updated to clarify this and they thank you for pointing it out to them. Please contact the office regarding any mobility questions and we will be happy to assist. Property Owner

  • "Atlantic Edge exceeded all our expectations."

The accomodation was clean and had everything we needed. Little extras were a nice touch (dog treats, DVDs, family games, tea & coffee sachets, bathroom soaps, toilet paper etc). Location was ideal too, great for coastal dog walks, walking across the beaches to Newquay centre. Easy drive up the coast to bedruthan steps and Padstow. We didn't use the hotel facilities - I believe the pool was on the cool side. Would be happy to return in warmer months and play in the waves!

If there was to be any pointers they would be . it was end of season and the cottage was starting to feel a bit tired, a couple of thing in the en suite were starting to rust and blemish, . Kitchen surfaces had seen better days . none of the takeaways could find us!! But that didn't diminish the cottage was nice and comfortable and we will probably go back.

  • "Everything was as expected except for the picture in your advertising."

The picture gives the impression that there are few other houses around and that there would be views but not the sea as stated. The property is on a complex of 24 houses, it is surrounded. The view from the back was a grassy bank and from the front mostly a wall some shrubs and sky. Out on the balcony you could see part of the hotel grounds. It would also have been very useful to know the parking space is in a car park and not near the house.

  • "The location of the cottage which was right next to the lusty glaze beach which was fabulous ."

The one thing I noticed was that on the site dogs were off their leads on the site, our dog is a nervous young dog .also some guests obviously didn't clean up after their dogs.one day their was rubbish which had spilled over onto the grass .therefore the seagulls had a field day.so I cleaned it up as nobody else bothered too . the pool in the hotel was freezing we were told that the heating had broken down, but the site was busy and after 12 days it still hadn't been repaired .you would have thought the owners of the hotel would have had it repaired at such a busy time .apart from that our house no 15 which was in a perfect location was fabulous .home from home..

  • "Smell from downstairs bedrooms was stale and foisty and we had to buy some air fresheners."

The downstairs is below floor level and the main bedroom does not seem to have any air unless you open the patio doors which is not ideal on a night. The downstairs bathrooms has been recently refurbished and are very nice but I understand further work for the uneven floor outside the bathroom is ongoing. The kitchen worktops were sticky to touch and could do with being updated but the house was very clean on arrival. The surrounding footpaths leading to the property are in need of some urgent maintenance due to the uneven block paving and loose wooden decking leading to other properties. Apart from these issues the area is nice with lovely beaches but I wouldn't rush to go back to this property,

  • "The pictures of the properties garden area was quite misleading."

The picture leads you to believe the grass area is level with the property, sadly it wasn’t. That was the reason we chose it. We couldn’t just let our dog out as she will only do her business on grass which was up a steep bank. My husband had to walk her to the nearest grass area which wasn’t ideal.

  • "With regard to the cottage there were a few annoying things, not major but irritating."

Primarily a lack of sink plug in the bathroom adjoining main bedroom which I occupied. There was no sink plug, necessitating me to fill a saucepan so that I could shave with wet razor every day. In the same bathroom I had an overflow from shower to floor because the drain hole had not been cleared and was clogged with hair which I had to clear. A minor iritation was lack of a soap dish anywhere so I had to lob the soap from shower to bowl after washing. There was a problem with the Wi-Fi code which is riddled with 1s,lower case i'sand I's and spent several minutes unseccessfully trying to logon. In the end had to t/p the housekeeper and write down the exact code, spelling out each symbol. She cheerfully told me that a lot of people had had the same problem. I suggest the code be recorded in written way such I, capital, I, Small, 1 number. There was a disappontment to find that the main hall where we went in the evening did not serve food until May and I may be wrong but I do not recall any advice on that score in the booking process. We had travelled a good while and were tired and hungry but had to drive off in strange surroundings to try to find an evening meal somewhere. All of the above said it is a lovely property in a super area, especially for dog owners, and I would rebook next year, especially if the modest problems were sorted out.

The house itself is very well laid out. The small touches were so lovely, there was a dog bed and bowls and a little treat for the dog. There were basics such as tea, coffee, cleaning materials and toilet roll. It just helps so much when you first arrive. Spotlessly clean, well presented, roomy and just made our holiday.
