  • "An absolute joy."

Excellent facilities throughout, but it’s the little unexpected details that makes a visit memorable, welcome items, deco, information, even an outside shower for wet suits.

  • "Longships was a lovely place to stay."

Perfect for us as we were visiting family in Penzance and we also love Porthcurno beach. We will be back and would love to stay at Longships again. Thank you

  • "Longships is ideally located."

It is close to lovely Porthcurno beach, stunning cliff walks, and the wonderful Minnack Theatre. The accommodation is very clean, comfortable and well equipped, and we cannot speak highly enough of it.

  • "Amazing location and property."

Kitchen so well equipped - we made cakes! (Silicon bun trays, scales, whisk all in cupboards). Some great cookbooks, good quality cutlery. A well looked after owners holiday home. Great selection of books, dvds and games for a rainy day. Comfortable beds - what more could one ask for. Lovely quiet village. Stones throw from Porthcurno beach. Lamorna cove is only a couple of miles - well worth a visit. St Buryan has a lively shop selling local bacon and sausage and house just up from there sells great fr eggs.

  • "The pub closed down at least 2 months ago and will not reopen until next year at the earliest."

As we like to have a drink with our dinner and don't drink & drive, this meant that we had to cook in the cottage each evening. This means we don't get a holiday from cooking ! Also, your app gives a countdown to when we can get in. This is set for midnight, but we cannot get in till 17.30 later that day !

  • "Longships felt more like a cottage than a duplex apartment."

It was very clean and comfortable. It had everything there we needed to make our stay easy. It is also ideally located for the beach - 5-7 min walk.

  • "Very disapointed in all the servives, very dirty bathroom mould everywhere, dirty windows and broken curtain poles."

We had no wifi and very bad comunication as no phone reception so had to drive out of Valley to make phone call, wifi working on our last day, my 16 year old not happy at all ! Over all all very upsetting and very disapointed, will not recomend to stay here or book through Sykes Cottages.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay. We contacted you at the start and during your stay to make you aware of the unforeseen WIFI problems that week at the property. If you had contacted us about the other issues during your stay we would have been happy to help. Property Owner

  • "Apart from a very uncomfortable mattress (a very hard ridge down the middle ) on the double bed, we had a very pleasant stay."

We also feel the initial problem with Covid compliance could have been resolved less stressfully with a bit more forethought.

Did not want to leave and very much hope to return. Totally recommend.

Perched in the picturesque village of Porthcurno, on the south west coast of Cornwall, lies this lovely two-storey apartment, Longships.

With the spectacular cove of soft white sand and clear azure seas just a short stroll away, this is the ideal choice for the family seaside holiday.

Conveniently, leave your vehicle in the off-road parking space as you move your luggage inside the stylish abode with ease.

Step inside to discover the well-presented open plan living area, flooded in natural light and decorated in light tones for a relaxed feel.

There is a a fully equipped kitchen ready to prepare your favourite meal and why not take it outside and enjoy some al fresco dining?

Alternatively, settle down at the dining table to enjoy a heart-warming meal and toast to your coastal escape.

Afterwards, unwind on the plush sofa, with an electric fire to keep the space toasty on cooler evenings and a TV with FreeSat and DVDs to enjoy.

Venture up to the first floor to find the family bathroom to indulge in a soak amongst the bubbles in the tub or relish a rinse in the overhead shower.

The first floor also hosts two pretty bedrooms; throw open the French doors in the master bedroom and let the fresh sea air stream in as you take your morning coffee onto the decking area.

Porthcurno lies just below the unforgettable Minack Theatre, carved out of natural rock on the cliff edge, with the sea as a magnificent backdrop.

Just outside the village lies the Museum of Submarine Telegraphy which is housed in a secret wartime communications centre, whilst a short walk along the coastal path will bring you to Logan Rock or Rocking Stone, which is part of an Iron Age Cliff Castle.

This is a beautiful coastal area with cliff top walks and pretty beaches and the surrounding countryside is equally lovely, where you will find tiny villages and traditional pubs.

A trip to Land's End, the most westerly point in England, is a great day out or visit the stunning St Ives with its beaches, the fantastic Tate St Ives and winding lanes with plenty of gift shops.
