The property

Overlooking Porthmeor Beach, in Barnoon, in St Ives, this four-bedroom, detached house, enjoys stunning sea views, from most rooms, with the town centre, Tate St Ives and St Ives scenic railway all within a short walk.

Sleeping six, plus an infant and welcoming one well behaved dog, it offers a fabulous base for a family to enjoy all St Ives has to offer.

A huge bay window, with a large window seat, frames amazing sea views throughout a spacious living area, so whether you’re dining or relaxing you can enjoy this wonderful setting, natural light floods through the window making it light and airy, a large modular sofa with comfortable seating for six, is conveniently placed beside a wood burner, cosy up and soak up the views or enjoy the entertainment on the 43” smart television or gaming on the PS4, with dual controllers. The dining area is positioned within the living area, ideal for socialising and benefiting from the sea views, a dining table comfortably seating eight provides a wonderful setting for the whole family to dine in, under the stairs you’ll find a sofa with reading light, perfect to curl up with your favourite book.

The shaker kitchen with white units and beech block work surfaces, is well-appointed and along with the washing machine provides all you need in your home from home, take a seat at the breakfast bar, open the stable door, which leads out to the rear terrace, enjoy a coffee in the fresh Cornish air, or an alfresco drink on the terrace.

There is a choice of four comfortable bedrooms, two with sea views and benefiting from private en-suites with a walk in shower, the master king sized room is located on the top floor to maximise its breath-taking panoramic views across Porthmeor Beach and The Island, from a window the width of the room, a second king size room, like the rest is located on the first floor, it has a large bay window with window seat, so you can sit and enjoy the ever-changing colours of the ocean, a third twin and a fourth room, fitted with bunk beds for the kids, are peacefully located to the rear, each is well presented with sumptuously dressed beds and plenty of storage space. The family bathroom with bath, is conveniently located next to bedrooms three and four on the first floor, escape the group and treat yourself to a long relaxing soak. The rear patio is accessed via the kitchen, two chairs provide the perfect setting for enjoying an alfresco drink.

The golden sands of Porthmeor Beach are right on your door step, awarded a blue flag for its azure coloured waters, it’s a family favourite with a surf school and beach café, it also benefits from a seasonal lifeguard service, St Ives is a foodies favourite with a plethora of cafes and restaurants dotted around its pretty arc shaped harbour and even a Michelin Plate rated one right on St Ives other large stretch of sand, Porthminster Beach Café, all of them showcasing fresh sea food and local produce, pretty cobbled streets lead off the harbour filled with boutiques and galleries, ideal for gift hunting and highlighting local art, visit the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, to see how the town has inspired so many famous artists.

As many of St Ives larger beaches are award winning, they have pet restrictions at times, so explore the South West Coast Path towards Porthkidney Beach, its pet friendly all year, another way to enjoy the surrounding area is via the scenic railway, it runs beside the beaches with sea views all the way.

Cornwall has inspired many television and big screen productions and the hidden caves, quaint harbours and historic tin mines featured on the likes of Poldark, Doc Martin and Fisherman’s Friends can all be visited, its mild climate also means the county has many glorious gardens, from Trebah, a sub-tropical paradise with a stunning coastal backdrop, near Falmouth, Heligan recently discovered after being lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WW1, to the Eden Project’s rainforest, with its canopy walkway, all offering a fun, green, and educational day out, The kids will love the rides at Flambards in Helston, or Camel Creek Adventure Park, near Wadebridge or feeding the animals at Paradise Park near Hayle. This beautiful family home, set idyllically opposite one of St Ives best beaches, is sure to please any discerning family or friend looking for a memorable holiday to Cornwall.
