  • "Lovely flat, well equipped with stunning views."

Parking is helpful in a popular location. The bathrooms could do with ventilation as they get a bit steamy.

  • "Wow, what a view."

Lovely accommodation and never stayed anywhere with so many fixtures and fittings. Description undersells itself, only knew because I had read previous reviews that beach towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc are provided. In fact I think description said to bring tea towels! Great to have fans in the bedrooms and beds really comfortable. Loved the welcome package. DVDs and games a lovely touch. Agree with previous review that it would’ve been handy to have blinds in the living area as extremely hot from first thing in the morning - fittings are there. Second set of keys didn’t fit the apartment, as we found out to our cost when we split up one day. Couldn’t get hot water to the sink in the en-suite. Information booklet needs updating as there is now a facility to recycle rubbish! Minor niggles, but things as owners you need to be aware of.

Dear Karen, we are so pleased to hear you were pleased with the property and found it well equipped. We are sorry to hear you had troubles with the hot water during your stay. We would like to remind you that we are available at all hours via our local office contact number 01736 630015 - option 2 to be of assistance should you require it. We have passed your comments onto the maintenance team to ensure they are resolved. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Cornwall in the near future. • "We had a wonderful week at Penthouse View."

The apartment is light, spacious and beautifully decorated, with an amazing view. The kitchen is unbelievably well equipped! We liked the position up the hill, slightly out of the town, yet within easy walking distance of the beaches and shops. We would definitely stay here again. My only comments (not really negatives) are that the details in the app don’t list all of the things provided (such as hairdryers, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, beach towels…I could go on!). You should list these provisions as they’re great (and would have saved me bringing the items)! Also, the weather was beautiful during our stay, so the lack of blinds in the apartment meant that it got very hot. There clearly had been blinds at one time so perhaps these could be re-hung? As I say, not really negatives (I’m certainly not complaining about the weather!), just suggestions for making Penthouse View even better.

We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed a wonderful week at Penthouse View and thank you for taking the time to leave your valued Feedback and recommendations, these are much appreciated and we will certainly pass these on for consideration. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner

Please be aware that the parking at the property requires a permit(I feel this should be stated on the listing) - Make sure you do this as soon as you arrive or you'll get a £100 Parking Charge Notice from the lovely company ARMTRAC Services as your welcome gift.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave Feedback following your recent stay at Penthouse View and we are very sorry to hear you received a parking charge. The Management Company that looks after the Belyars Croft development have recruited a company to monitor the car park to prevent non-residents using the spaces, this is to ensure there is sufficient complimentary parking for all guests during their stay at the development. The Travel Directions that all guests receive prior to their stay at the property highlights the importance of always displaying the provided Parking Permit in their vehicle when it is parked in the car park. • "We so enjoyed our stay."

Everything worked and the property was so well equipped and spotlessly clean. I did notice in the main bathroom the WC cistern was not fully closing. This meant water was being wasted 24 hours/day. In the main bedroom the plastic covering on the headboard was very loose and needed securing. St Ives is a great place for food, walks and scenery and we will be back again soon. David and Joyce

  • "Had a lovely stay BUT there was food left from previous occupants in the freezer and bread bin."

The hob was dirty, scraps of food left on it and just not cleaned properly. As for the oven, the previous occupants had used the grill pan (it looked like all week) it was disgusting, we had to get the cleaner back. Then the main bathroom sink was blocked (the cleaner should had seen that had she bothered to clean it) The hob worked intermittently and had a faulty switch (reported) which made us check the fire extinguisher which hadn’t been checked since 2015 (reported) The fans didn’t work in both bathrooms, we were told they knew about it? Wasn’t informed about building works next door which was a bit disappointing due to the fact they arrived for work at 7am. Positives are you have a really lovely place, stunning views, good access, just needs looking after with more care to attention.

Thank you very much for your constructive feedback. The property does have a Fire Risk Assessment every two years to check that it is compliant. We will forward your comments about the cleaning and grill pan to the housekeeper. The hob switch and extractor fans fault has been reported to our maintenace team to be repaired and there is a building works notice on the website prior to a guest placing a booking so that they are aware of potential disruption. We are glad that you had a lovely stay and the views were stunning and we look forward to welcoming you back to the area. Kind regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "Lovely property, clean, comfortable and very well equipped."

Enjoyed looking at the view of the sea from the balcony and windows, great to see the sunrise if up early. The welcome pack of high quality local food items was very welcome. Had a great holiday in St Ives, would definitely book Penthouse View again.

Thank you so much for your wonderful, positive feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful stay! We have found what you have described in your feedback is a common issue of sunscreens and body lotions not being completely waterproof; these products leave behind residue in the water which also build up in front of the filters. For this reason, we mention in the Quick Start Guide, that guests shower before entering the hot tub to avoid this issue. Please note that specialised companies maintain the hot tubs of our properties carry out a full water change on the changeover days and attend for water treatments twice in a week. We thank you again for you feedback and hope to welcome you back in the near future. Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "A great property with outstanding views, a good selection of facilities and everything needed for your stay."

We were treated with a a great view of the fireworks from the jubilee celebrations. Bed was comfy. A great location too, only 5-10 mins walk to center of St Ives. Meant we could enjoy evening dinners out without having to take the car. Had an enjoyable stay and would recommend. Our only criticisms would be cleanliness could be a tad better (although good) lots of dust/ dirt under the sofas (discovered whilst doing yoga) and a couple of food stains on the pillows sofas. Would suggest washing those. The room also gets extremely hot and this wasn’t the hottest of summer weeks, so either blinds or air con is perhaps needed in the living space. The tv remote didn’t seem to work for us, we could get the tv on using other remotes/ to watch SKY but not to change over to use Netflix etc. even with with a battery change. The lack of a lift was tough, especially after a day of st ives hills, although appreciate that is not something easily changed and not a deal breaker. Lastly the building work, we were warned or this, although had been advised it wasn’t right next door and we were the apartment closest to it. Luckily we we were out most days so it wasn’t too impactful. Mainly the mornings were a tad noisy from the very loud builders convos in the car park downstairs, perhaps this could be addressed.

Dear Mrs Malone, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your feedback as it is very important to us! We are happy to hear that you had an enjoyable stay and would recommend staying at Penthouse View to other people. We can assure that we will look into the points you have raised to improve and address any issues to be rectified going forward. We hope to welcome you back in the future. • "We had an enjoyable week’s stay at the apartment during half-term in February 2022."

We absolutely love the sea and the apartment has a fantastic view of the ocean which is breath-taking when you first arrive and lovely to wake up to each morning. There was ample parking right outside the apartment and a short walk down to the St Ives town centre shops and restaurants or beach front. The kitchen area had all the usual facilities you would expect – oven, microwave, fridge, etc - and there was plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils for self-catering. As our visit was in Winter, we probably spent more time in the apartment than had it been summer. The beds and the lounge area were very comfortable and hot water was always available in the bathroom. Although we experienced a problem with the heating, the management company was easily contactable and promptly sent someone out to assist us. I would like to visit again – perhaps in summer next time!

  • "Blinds are needed in the main room as the heat was unbearable at times when sun was shining, plus this prevented us for watching the tv as it was so bright in the room Summer duvets would be an idea as it was very warm on an evening."

Other than those two points fabulous apartment. Another thought, it would be a good idea if each apartment had its own designated car parking spot instead of a free for all, poor parking by other residents made it very difficult at times to park.
