“The kitchen equipment was excellent with plenty of plates, cutlery etc.”

The house was clean and the TVs in every room were great. The outside area was a bit cramped and the space for cars was extremely limited and difficult to access. The location was excellent, with shops and beach close by and handy store opposite. All appliances and washing line, bins etc. were easily accessed. We had a great stay though.

The property

Rose Cottage perched at the top of Porthmeor Hill, a delightful semi-detached cottage just 200 metres from the surfing beach Porthmeor and 300 metres from the town centre.

This exceptional self-catering cottage is the perfect base for up to six people to come together for a holiday filled with breath-taking scenery, sublime beaches and memorable walks along the South West Coastal Path.

Enter into the property and be welcomed into the sitting room, where you can snuggle up on the sofa, with the characterful stone fireplace housing a woodburning, creating a cosy ambiance during the winter months.

Admire the photos of old St Ives within this room, giving you a small insight into the past of this wonderful town before making your way into the heart of the home, the kitchen/diner.

The Range cooker takes centre stage before all of the other appliances that are arranged in a contemporary assortment, certain to encourage a spot of cooking before regrouping with your loved ones to enjoy some catch up time, accompanied with a well-deserved glass of something chilled.

In the summer months, you can look forward to heading out onto the private courtyard area to indulge in a spot of alfresco dining, whilst enjoying the final moments of sunshine before you retire to bed.

Afterwards, head upstairs to catch your rest in one the three bedrooms, each one boasting an immaculate interior design with a refreshing colour palette, good storage and their own TVs, ideal for those lazy mornings snuggled under the plush duvets.

Choose been a king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a super-king-size bedroom with zip link beds that can be made into two singles and a twin bedroom, designed to ensure a flexible sleeping arrangement for groups of couples, friends and families.

Better acquaint yourself with your surroundings as you take a short stroll into the centre of St Ives, winding your way through the narrow lanes before reaching quayside, home to a plethora of shops and places to eat and drink.

Whilst here, be sure to make some time to explore the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, before soaking up the sunshine at one of the town beaches.

From the sandy shores of Porthmeor Beach, known for its excellent surf to the smaller, picturesque Porthgwidden Beach, where you can stroll along with your canine companion by your side, you are sure to find the perfect beach.

After enjoying the delights of St Ives, lace up your walking shoes and discover the South West Coastal Path, where you can catch glimpses of tall granite cliffs, hidden coves and fascinating wildlife along the way.

Alternatively, take your car further afield to visit the landmark attractions of Land's End, St Michael's Mount and The Minack Theatre, each one promising to be excellent days out for the whole family.

At the end of each day, look forward to returning to Rose Cottage for a relaxing evening.

About the location

ST IVES

Penzance 6 miles.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!
