  • "Excellent accommodation and facilities."

The only item which needs better explanation is the central heating control unit. Almost impossible to understand. Luckily not cold when we were there. When it did go cold one evening we put the system on manual

Lovely apartment in a super position for the town and touring around. All areas clean again. For the first time did have an issue of no hot water but dealt with very quickly by the agent. Only negative is the heating system is impossible to understand. Never came on - need for cold nights- so used 'manual' setting. Thank you.

  • "Property was nice, not quite as clean as others that we’ve stayed in, when we arrived, it was a case of having to wipe things over before use for my own personal benefit."

Noticed that the kitchen knife rack wasn’t complete, not a real issue but looks better in my opinion. Noticed a lot of marks on the bathroom tiles and the shower head in the main bathroom was very dirty resulting in black timescale coming out when the shower was being used. The arrival gift pack that carbis bay holidays usually leave presented nicely was just left on the lounge floor. The main bed was super comfortable which was lovely and the spaciousness of the apartment was lovely due to it being Christmas. We did check wether a Christmas tree would be there for us on arrival, we were told there would be and arrived to it with no tree or decoration, I would suggest a nice large decorated tree in future as the small one that was brought once I contacted carbis bay holidays was quite embarrassing, we had friends staying in other apartments in the block and they had beautiful 6ft trees on arrival which felt more appropriate. Overall a good stay, apartment was nice, not quite as luxurious as others in the block.

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad to hear you found the bed super comfortable. We are sorry to hear the property wasn’t up to the usual high cleaning standards, we will be sure to raise the cleanliness issues mentioned with the housekeeper. We will be sure to pass your comments onto the owner for their consideration. We hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future. Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. • "Having stayed in several of the appointments at Gallinas Point in the past including the Waves, we knew their location was ideal."

Onsite parking is slso such a bonus. It's like 'home from home!' Initially walking through the door, the property looked perfect - well equipped and comfy. However upon closer inspection, I felt the property would benefit from a good deep clean. I took various photos as knew this was not the standard I had received in the past. ( or in fact expected for a property marketed in such a way. ). I went on holiday for a rest and break from chores but initially took time out to sweep and mop floors etc. Im not actually sure the last time the shower rims etc had a good clean either..... The Carbis Bay tote bag plus milk in the fridge upon arrival is a nice gesture however I did miss the cream tea that has previously also been a welcome gift.

Thank you for your feedback following your stay at The Waves. We will pass on your comments with regards to the cleanliness and we are sorry to hear that you felt you had to clean during your stay due to the cleaning standard. Please note that we are always here to help dealing with any issues and would do our very best to rectify any issues during your stay on 01736 630015 and Option 2. Unfortunately the bakery which supplied Carbis Bay Holidays with cream tea's has closed down circa two years ago. It's great to hear you have felt at home in the apartment and we hope you overall had a nice time at The Waves! With Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

I appreciate that January is probably the best time of the year for owners to undertake refurbishments but that has an impact on people staying in adjoining apartments.

Thank you very much for taking time to leave Feedback following your recent holiday at The Waves and we are so sorry to hear you were disturbed by works happening in the apartment above. • "A beautiful accommodation, fantastic location, all the mod cons."

The kitchen was very well equipped. All very modern. The only downside was it really needed a deep clean. An earring was lost down the side of the single bed……we pulled it out and the DUST was unbelievable!!! Even under the double bed and the inside of the wardrobe was the same. The radiators were full of dust too.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and comments following your stay at The Waves. We are pleased that you liked the property and found everything you needed. With regards to the cleanliness we want to assure you that this is not our usual standard. We apologise. Of course we will address this with the housekeeper and book in a deep clean. • "Fantastic location, a really nice flat which would benefit from a bit more TLC."

I contacted the owner (Carbis Bay) during our stay: they managed to remedy some of the issues promptly. However I believe that the property would benefit from a better clean: mould on bathroom tiles , mould and scale on the tap and shower heads. Dirty dishwasher filter, which we cleaned ourselves as the first dishwasher load came out of the dishwasher filthy! During our stay Carbis Bay visited the flat and cleaned mould from the window in the twin bedroom and from the seal which runs along the bath & shower. The blind over the patio door didn’t work properly which resulted in it being difficult to get on to the (lovely)balcony., (with sea views). Carbis Bay’ managed to draw the blind, which we left up from that point….some would say that this would affect privacy. We also noticed that some of the crockery was slightly chipped…. The broom was dirty , having been left with someone else s hair and dust. We didn’t report this (to CarbisBay) but feel that it should be checked between holiday rentals.

Thank you very much for your constructive feedback, we will speak to both the owner and the housekeeper about the points you have raised. We are pleased we managed to pop down each time you raised an issue to help resolve these promptly. We hope to welcome you back to the area soon. • "The property looks good on the picture and on the whole is really nice."

The kitchen facilities are brilliant and the coffee machine definitely needs to stay. It looked like there were several dog hairs throughout the apartment and a musty smell from the washing machine on arrival. Almost like it had not been cleaned. The TV, internet and games console is nice touch and was great to be able to watch live sports. There are some maintenance issues that Sykes appear to not want to deal with including. The toilet flush in the main bathroom is broken. In the absence is Sykes getting back to me quick enough I resorted to fixing this myself. Master bedroom door is broken and there are a few other door handles that could do with some bigger screws to secure them in. The master bedroom bed. It is broken. No matter how much Sykes try to fix it it is broken and needs replaced. For me this ruined our holiday as we did not sleep.

  • "We had a fabulous stay at "The Waves" in St Ives."

A beautifully comfortable stylish appartment with every modern convenience. The main bedroom was extremely spacious with plenty of wardrobe space and hangers and the bed and pillows were very comfy and I myself am very fussy about pillows, so 10 out of 10! We also loved the sunny balcony overlooking the beach, perfect for an al fresco breakfast or an evening drink. We will certainly return. The only negative really, was that the people staying before us had forgotten to put the dishwasher on, so we had to deal with their dirty dishes. Perhaps this is something that the cleaners should be checking?

  • "A lovely little apartment, perfect for the 3 of us!"

It was very comfortable and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the sea. Facilities are really good - there were items provided in the kitchen that we didn’t have when hiring a house for 10 people. The apartment was very warm, even with no heating on, which made me wonder how hot it gets in the summer months, as we would definitely consider coming back. There were just 2 extra things that would have made it perfect - we needed more hand towels, especially as the heated towel rails were switched off, the towels stayed wet. Unlike being in a hotel, you can’t just ask someone for more. Keeping a few spares in the wardrobe would suffice. Also, we ended up moving the TV from the main bedroom into the 2nd bedroom, as our teenage Son wanted one. (We put it back before departing.) We haven’t stayed anywhere before without a TV in each room. The apartment is ideally located just a short walk into town. The secure, allocated parking space was great. Thank you for the thought you have put into what is provided and the standard to which the apartment is kept. We were glad that you do not accept pets any longer. We would definitely recommend to others.

Admin etc was very smooth and painless. Accommodation was very nice and clean. All the touches from welcome snacks, nice towls, kitchen utensils, baby stuff, games consol, sky - down to little things like the beach chairs and bucket spades made it all a real enjoyable experience. With two young children the property was perfectly located for beach, town, leisure centre and access routes which was a bonus. We looked for nice restaurants that catered for children. The ones we liked a lot were Seafood Cafe, Blas Burgerworks, Porthminster Restaurant, The Cornish Range (Mousehole), Waterfront Restaurant and various fish and chip shops.
