  • "This is a very comfortable cottage in a great location."

We had a very pleasant stay for a week with 7 adults and a small dog, there was enough room inside for us all and the garden is very large - a great place to eat, relax, play games, look at the view and watch the sunsets. Being able to walk (20 minutes on the road, a bit longer via footpaths) to the lovely Porthluney beach was great, and there were many other walks on footpaths straight from the cottage over to the cliff walks. It's in a good location in Cornwall, with attractions such as The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan very close, but places such as Tintagel and St Michael's Mount still in reach. I don't know if the property had been empty before we stayed there, but the wi-fi wasn't working when we got there (luckily my husband worked out that a cable had been plugged in the wrong place and sorted it out) and the cooker had been switched off at the wall. That meant that the clock wouldn't work when it was switched on, and thus the oven wouldn't work. With no manual we had to look it up online to work out what to do. Despite being a large range cooker with two ovens, each oven only had one shelf (different sizes), so there wasn't as much capacity as it appeared. The windows had also been locked upstairs, and it took a while to find the one key for all of them. There were lots of plates/cutlery/glasses/mugs in the kitchen, but it could have done with a decent sized frying pan, a fish slice/turner, and some baking trays. We had a problem with the electricity going off in the upstairs and part of the downstairs on Saturday night. Luckily it didn't affect the kitchen and one of the showers, so we managed for Sunday, and the owner got someone to come out first thing on the Monday to fix it, which was good.

  • "We had a fantastic family break and found Sunset Cottage to be exactly what we needed!"

Great communication from the owners and really responsive to any questions we had. The children loved the garden and it was lovely to be able to walk to the beach. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing break!

  • "Really loved our stay, the property had amazing views and felt really private, yet good distance to attractions & walkable to the beach!"

Great sized garden and spacious bedrooms. Perfect for adults and older kids however we felt it wasn’t quite geared up for young children.

Thanks for your feedback, any suggestions welcome how we can make it more geared up for our younger guests, we'd love to hear them! Property Owner

  • "We have just come back from a fabulous week at Sunset Cottage in Gorran near Mevagissy."

The cottage is a large 4 bedroom accommodation, nicely decorated with fantastic gardens complete with hot tub and the countryside view is breathtaking. It is about a mile from the lovely small beach which also has shacks selling food, drinks to suit all tastes. We will definitely consider it again for our holiday next year.

  • "What a wonderful cottage!"

We had such a lovely week away. Fabulous location with many options for days out. Well equipped cottage and very comfortable and cosy. The views from the decking and hot tub are outstanding - we had many peaceful mornings with a cup of tea sat out there. Local private beach was a bonus which is dog friendly even in the summer. Only addition to the cottage which would've been appreciated is a stair gate (especially as there's no door to the living room) and a high chair. Overall we would highly recommend Sunset Cottage and would happily return.
