  • "Fantastic location."

We had a great week away. Thanks!

  • "Tastefully decorated cottage in good location for exploring local beaches and towns."

Everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided. Open fields for dog walking a couple of minutes walk from the house. Enjoyed our stay. Thank you

  • "We loved Snugglers Cottage but hadn’t realised shower room downstairs and the staircase had handrail and wall on just one side."

We did get used to it. Also not sure if we had access to field at the back all so overgrown a lot of nasty brambles on patio and around gate. No mirror or anywhere to hang clothes in small bedroom. The parking outside much easier than I thought it would be and great help with loading. Plenty of spaces. Great location for touring around coastline. Would recommend and will stay again.

  • "A good spot to take a holiday."

The village has a pub and chippy, both of which were excellent with friendly staff. The cottage had everything you would need, although the Wi-Fi was hit and miss which affected tv reception. The cottage is comfortable, well equipped and cosy. I thought the parking was going to be an issue but this wasn’t a problem. Location is excellent as it’s not too far from many areas of interest. Would recommend and I’m hopefully back soon.

Thanks Anthony, glad you enjoyed it. Will get the Wi-Fi checked. The contract is with Sky and it is meant to be spot on... Paul Property Owner

  • "A very well equipped clean and comfortable cottage."

We had a wonderful relaxing stay and just loved this comfortable quirky cottage. The open plan kitchen area with the light coming through the roof was our favourite space, together with the outside seating area very peaceful.. Highly recommend

Really comfortable beds. Had everything you need. Great facilities in the village.

  • "Lovely cottage, very clean and well maintained, but the description doesn't warn you of low ceilings and entry way (I'm 6'4" so the main door was just at shoulder height as an example)."

Info pack left for appliances etc was very handy to have for information. Glad we arrived at 5 when shops were still open as there was only 1 pint of milk. I think we've been spoiled with other stays having had some more basic supplies when we got there. I think being taller than average made the sofa in the living area a little uncomfortable as well but the outdoor furniture was great and the decking area gets huge amounts of sun and is so peaceful. Really enjoyed our stay and it made day trips to all the surrounding beaches and ports super easy.

Thanks for this Matt. A good point on the ceiling heights, - many thanks. Otherwise, glad you enjoyed. Paul Property Owner

  • "Second visit to Snugglers Cottage and am sure it will not be our last."

Great location for visiting Tintagel, Port Issac and very close to the popular beach at Trebarwith Strand. Recommend visiting the quarry, which is excellent for dog walking, with some fantastic views (an easy walk from the door). The cottage is lovely, well equipped kitchen, cosy wood burning stove, comfy sofas, ideal for lazy morning's, or winding down after a day exploring. The garden is a great sun trap, with views over the fields behind. Well thought out shower room, great fluffy towels, lovely crisp bedding, immaculately clean throughout. I cannot fault it at all. Thank you.

Thanks for this positive feedback Fi, - so glad you had a great trip. Paul Property Owner

  • "The cottage has been very tastefully renovated, with a super kitchen diner."

Very comfortable, our only observations are that the cooker didn’t work and the bathroom needs an extractor fitted. Delabole is not the prettiest village, but has good local services. The road is very busy and noisy from early morning to late at night, so if you are looking for quiet, this is not the location for you.

Dear Stuart, Apologies for not replying sooner. I very much appreciate your feedback. The induction hob is in fact fully functional, although if you haven't used one before the buttons do have a bit of a knack! We are only a phone call away for any issues or help. The best thing about Delabole is its fantastic proximity to other more well known places, Padstow/ Polzeath, Tintagel, Boscastle, are all within easy reach. You are the first person who has commented on the road being an issue for them, or the extractor. The front part of the cottage is early 19th centruy and the 2ft thick stone walls make installation of some things difficult. However, we are looking at various options. • "A beautiful cottage situated in a little village with two little shops (one at the garage), a pub and a fish and chip shop."

The cottage itself is finished to a very high standard and the outside space is beautiful to sit outside in if you’re blessed with good weather. It was the perfect base for our lovely holiday and we were thrilled that the cottage met our expectations. We enjoyed trips to: Port Isaac. Tintagel including a trip around the castle ruins. Tintagel brewery is also worth a visit as is bistro. The Minack Theatre is beautiful (during the Summer booking a performance in advance is a must). We cycled on the Camel Trail from Bodmin to Padstow you can hire bikes if you don’t bring your own. There’s also Boscastle and St Ives nearby. We went to Widemouth beach and Polzeath beach which are great for bodyboarding/surfing. If you stay at this cottage you will not be disappointed and if you have to get in touch with the owner Paul is lovely.

Dear Helen, I am so pleased you had good week. You are spot on, there are so many great places to get out and see. Thanks so much for the review and feedback. Paul Property Owner

  • "The cottage doesn't look very big from the outside, but opens up into a very comfortable, cosy cottage, with everything you need for a visit."

The fixtures and fittings are of a very good standard and as we had rubbish weather we were glad the cottage was welcoming. Situated not far from Tintagel and the coastal path, it was perfect for our week away and we were able to spend time walking and exploring between gales and rain. We would go back.

About the location

DELABOLE

Tintagel 3.5 miles; Camelford 3.4 miles; Port Isaac 5.3 miles.

At one time the producer of the world’s best quality building and ornamental slate, this now sleepy village is just 2.5 miles from the high cliffs and dramatic scenery of the north Cornish coastline. Perfectly placed for walking the South West coastal path, exploring the high places of nearby Bodmin Moor, or for lazing on the beach at nearby Trebarwith Strand, it’s a well-placed holiday base. The peaceful harbour village of Port Isaac and the town of Tintagel, with its tourist attractions and King Arthur’s legendary castle, are both a short drive, while the stunning surfing beach at Polzeath is a mere nine miles away. Slaughtersbridge, where King Arthur reputedly fought his last battle, is five minutes away and a drive north along the coast takes in the beautiful cove at Crackington Haven. An area away from the main tourist crowds, but very central to a vast array of places and activities. Delabole Quarry itself is just down the road and is an interesting tourist attraction with stunning views. It is the gateway to great countryside walks.
