  • "Really lovely cottage with everything you could need for a holiday."

Great outside space just a shame the weather didn’t let us use it! Tennis court needs some TLC but was a fun extra! The cottage is very damp especially the bedrooms downstairs which was a shame but understandable based on the location and structure. Worth noting as could cause problems for those with medical issues. The garden is not secure but the property is down a long drive and no passing traffic so not a massive concern for dogs unless you have one that is likely to take themselves off exploring.

  • "Lovely place, quiet location and having the living rooms upstairs was ideal as we got to see deer, foxes and pheasants in the garden."

Brilliant to go downstairs to bed and escape the heat, so refreshing after a fun packed day. Would definitely return . If it was my property I would add a hot tub on the patio as it is sheltered and private

  • "We've just returned from a very enjoyable family holiday in Cornwall, staying at The Mill House."

We were 7 adults (two elderly), one teenager and our family dog. The House was very comfortable and the location was perfect for accessing Newquay, Padstow, Rock, beaches, Bodmin (20 mins) and further afield. Yet a peaceful haven to return to at the end of the day. The house was well equipped and there was shared access to a tennis court and washing facilities. There is parking for 2/3 cars right outside. The garden is dog friendly, although not completely secure at the side by the parking area. However, it is possible to park a car to block the gap. We ordered an online delivery from Sainsburys to coincide with our arrival and they delivered with no problems. The Mill House is joined to other properties but we weren't disturbed by any of the other guests and barely knew they were there. Rosemary is a fantastic host (she lives in the main house near the property) and welcomed us, she is available by mobile phone if you need anything (we didn't). The house is upside down with one of the bedrooms and a shower room on the same floor as the living area, kitchen and terrace/ garden. This was great for the two elderly members of our family, who could stay on one level. I would recommend The Mill House and would definitely stay there again if I return to that area. Thank you Rosemary.

  • "We stayed here for one week (08/04/2022-15/04/2022) we wish it was longer."

The property was all we wished for. Had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The owners were very helpful. We had one issue with one of the showers. This was remedied as soon as it possibly could be. It didn't hamper our stay at all, although there were seven of us at the property there were two other showers to use. There was plenty to do in the area, both north and south coasts were easily accessible. The only thing which I think would be useful is another key for the front door so the party could split up and each have a key. I would definitely book a stay here again and would definitely recommend the accommodation.

  • "Wonderful setting and fantastic for dogs with our own private patio and garden off the lounge."

Very close to the beaches nothing is very far away. Rosemary checked we were ok a couple of times and asked if we needed anything. Would love to go back again!

  • "The cottage was really lovely well equipped and in an excellent location."

The biggest problem was that the downstairs bedrooms were extremely damp with the bedding and our clothing feeling unacceptably damp to touch. The base of our dogs basket was so wet we had to dry it out and then place it on a bin liner. Considering how much we paid we feel this was totally unacceptable and would find it difficult to recommend to anyone else.

  • "The setting was beautiful."

The cottage was just lovely. The photographs don’t do it justice. We ate outside on the sun deck most nights and made plenty of use of the BBQ and gardens for boules, and rounds of tennis on the tennis courts. There were lots of lovely walks for the dog from the cottage. It was not far from the coast, Padstow, the Eden project and lots of lovely places to visit. Rosemary was very welcoming. Would return again!

  • "Great accommodation."

Very good lay out, with spacious lounge area, leading out onto lovely patio/bbq area and pretty garden. Very quiet location, and although you have neighbours, your outside space is very private.. The location is quiet too. I would have stayed again, but an awkward end to a weeks stay when we mixed up the check out time. Thinking it was 10am, but the cleaners and owner were outside at 9.30 being very blunt about us getting out. There was also a demand for us to strip all beds, due to COVID…? Really never heard of this, despite numerous staycations recently. Haven’t done it before, no intention of starting now. We’re on holiday.!

Lovely hot water and the property was warm and welcoming despite being stripped back for these COVID times. A fabulous central location for visiting both coasts.

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay at the Mill House."

It is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. It is in a really beautiful, very quiet location but ideally placed for visiting a range of places in Cornwall. Car needed. Lovely private garden and patio area. Although people were staying in the adjoining cottage, we never heard any sound from them. Our sons enjoyed using the tennis court. Friendly and helpful owners. Would stay again.

  • "Loved the peaceful and quiet setting."

Beautiful cottage with ample room for all the guests. It would have been useful if the travel cot provided also came with a mattress. If we had known this prior to the holiday then we could have brought our own. Never the less we all had a great holiday at The Mill House.

  • "The cottage was advertised as having a washing machine."

We only book cottages with washing machines and there was not one available. We were told this was because of Covid 19, but that makes no sense as we could have wiped it down with anti-bac wipes after we had used it - the town nearby was operating a launderette!!!!! We had to wash clothes in a bucket repeatedly and hang them on a fence to dry, as the washing line was very short and had no pegs and there was no clothes airer provided either. We would request a refund from the balance of our holiday for this inconvenience. Not sure why two extra hours of cleaning was needed (our arrival and departure times changed) as there were cobwebs in the property. We had a problem with a toilet, the contact for any issues came out promptly and returned to fix the problem the next day.
