  • "The peace and quiet."

Cornwall is always a busy place no matter where you stay. Good fields to walk the dogs. As long as they are happy then so are we.

  • "The house was beautiful."

When you first arrive you wonder what's behind the front door. It was easy to find from the directions given. It's in a fantastic location with views over the Camel Estuary and it was easy to get to places like Port Isaac and Padstow. Although in a great location my mum who is in her 80s could not walk to the pub or to the Camel trail because of steep hills. Only ate out once as the house was so lovely to gather round the dining room table with lots of choices of eateries /takeaways in nearby Wadebridge. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and it was lovely that we could take our family dog.

  • "Lovely light filled, secluded upside down cottage."

I felt it had been cleaned well, and left in a safe way for my stay, observing covid rules. Comfortable beds, and I loved being able to shower with a view of the sky! Nice touches, like the bookcase set into the wall of the hallway, which itself was a good space. The kitchen was well equipped although I feel some of the utensils need to be checked and replaced. A pretty garden which gets plenty of sun, but be warned the decking area is sharp underfoot (anti- slip ridges) and so using it barefoot is not recommended. The parking area is fine but with overhanging trees, the birds enjoyed using my car as a toilet, and I had to wash it 3 times during my stay. Not what I expect to have to do on holiday. Whilst the cottage is secluded, it is a half mile walk downhill to the Camel Trail which takes you into Padstow or Wadebridge depending on which way you walk. And it is a mile uphill to the main road and the bus stop, with links to the same destinations and beyond. Otherwise a car would be essential if staying here. I had a supermarket delivery when I arrived, but there is a large Tesco about 5 mins away in the car.

Veranda plus garden seating two real bonuses. Owner, Sara Venner, extremely helpful. Third time of staying - says everything...

  • "Beautiful location and we visited in December."

Weather was hideous but the cottage was cosy. Sky tv helped as weren’t able to wonder around towns in the evening due to horrendous weather. Owners lovely and secure garden for dogs. All in all a perfect short break visit we needed.

  • "This is a beautiful, homely cottage that is superbly equipped for holiday living."

The owners really gave thought of every detail. The tastefully decorated and furnished cottage is in stunning location with views over the Camel estuary from one side and a pretty, enclosed cottage courtyard on the other. A short stroll brings you to the entrance to the Camel trail in one direction or a foody pub in the other direction. The beautiful north coast beaches are all a short drive away and there are supermarkets within 10 minutes drive to stock up on wine! What could be better.

! Figtree is so warm and cosy and has everything you could need for a peaceful break in the Cornish countryside. The views are particularly lovely, with easy access to a wonderful walk along the camel river. Figtree is tucked away in a beautiful quiet farm location, you feel as though you are miles from anywhere but actually you are just a short drive to local amenities and some wonderful beaches! We will be back!!
