  • "The Lodge was fantastic - a real home from home."

It had everything we needed. Lovely location and friendly, helpful neighbours too. So close to the most beautiful beaches and just a quick drive into Padstow. The only thing I could say would be better for us (our dog) would be if the garden was fully enclosed, but saying that it was a beautiful big garden, so was nice to sit out there with her. Would love to stay there again in the future.

  • "The garden isnt totally fenced off, so we had to tie up our dog all the time she was outside ."

The same would apply if small children were staying . Everything else was very good .

  • "The cleanliness of 'the lodge' was not up to standard."

We found the following. 1. Pubic hair under toilet seat and on floor 2. Old sock found behind bed in main bedroom: this raises doubts that full hoovering is carried out 3. Very dirty frying pan and other cutlery not clean 4 stains on doors. One other item we found annoying was the shower head is screwed tothe rail making it non adjustable when you have family members ranging from 4' 11 to 6'1 and ladies who do not want to get their hair wet not really on.

  • "What a fantastic place for getting around, Padstow on your doorstep, Newquay not far away and many fantastic beaches in between, to which we frequented many."

We've had a lovely stay here and would recommend it to anybody. Many thanks to Paula and Bernd for the Jam Cornish tea and milk, a cuppa after a long drive was well needed. The local pubs also do excellent food. Farmer Arms do excellent food and the staff are really good in these strange times. Had a fantastic week Dave and Helen from Derby

The cream tea left in the fridge along with a pint of milk was a welcome touch. Also loved St Merryn had everything two good pubs a Chinese takeaway fish and chip shop where you could stay and eat or takeaway a convenience store and garage. The park itself had a club house serving food in the evening and carvery on Sundays very friendly people and also it’s own coop store.

  • "The chalet was very spacious and well equipped, and in a peaceful cul de sac on a development of chalets."

It was further out in the countryside than I expected but not a problem, as there is a small shop on site, and one a mile away at St Merryn. I don’t have many criticism about it other than the decor is very tired and old fashioned, faded pictures on the walls, silly ornaments around the place, and very hard sofas to sit on, when you have been out all day a comfy seat would have been nice! Everything else was fine, beds were extremely comfortable, loads of wardrobe space. We were a party of three adults, and never felt on top of each other. Good sized garden, but not enclosed so dogs need to be supervised, there is a dog walking field at the entrance to the development. The site was quiet when we were there, mid June, but I expect it gets much busier, as it’s a mix of holiday rentals and residential, and is quite large. All in all a good place, in a good area, and I would return, but only on a late minute deal, as didn’t feel it was worth the full price it’s advertised at, because it needs updating. Hope this helps others.

  • "We know the site so knew what to expect."

Accommodation very clean and well equipped, lots of little extra things. a welcoming cornish cream tea and pint of milk provided. Could have done with a little fence either side to make the garden secure as it takes dogs but there was a dog walking fenced in area at the entrance to the site. well placed as a base for getting around, shop and restaurant on site and local amenities very good. Will definitely be prepared to use again.

  • "Really lovely holiday lodge."

Everything necessary was provided including a cream tea on arrival. Comfortable beds and private garden with ample outdoor furniture. 2 good pubs nearby in St Merryn - The Farmers Arms and The Cornish Arms which both serve good food and the latter one is a Rick Stein pub. We thoroughly recommend this holiday bungalow.
