  • "Cottage was everything it promised."

It was comfortable very well situated. The short walk to the beach was exactly that. The beach was lovely and perfect for our 3 dogs Cafes and shops were excellent. It’s proximity to bude and other areas like port Isaac padstow and rock meant that we had no long car journeys but were able to see some of the gems of the Cornish coast. Crackington Haven is a place best kept secret because it is so beautiful and needs to stay that way. Sunsets were stunning from Widemouth Beach. The whole family had an unforgettable holiday.

  • "Senafe is a great holiday home."

I booked it for its appealing colourful modern interior and close location to beaches. Usually I go for remote country cottages so this was a novelty for us. We had a great week despite mostly wet weather. The only slight disappointment was the lack of heart or soul to the living room. The little wood burner will create a cosier feel but we didn't feel the need for it. The house is lovely and warm. Comfortable and spacious. Easy to see the attraction to new visitors and why so many either return or plan to. We won't be going back but will recommend Senafe to larger groups of family and friends. Plenty of space for a big group with the two really good bathrooms.

  • "We had a great stay at Senafe."

The property is very comfortable and the location is excellent, just a few minutes from the amazing dog friendly beach. Our two dogs enjoyed chasing their ball around the safe, enclosed garden and also paddling in the sea. Most of the local shops are dog friendly too which was a bonus. The weather was pretty extreme, due to the storms, but we managed to visit nearby Tintagel and Boscastle as well as Bude. The bad weather meant we had to stay home more that usual and whilst we made use of the great facility to sign in to Netflix etc. we were disappointed that there was nothing else in the property that we usually like to find, such as books or games ( despite being mentioned in the house guide pack). There were quite a number of other items listed which were not there also, such as dog blankets;first aid kit; dvds and no guest book to pass comments back. We appreciate that this might be something related to Covid, but if so, it could be mentioned in the house guide so that people can pack these things. We had a lovely holiday (sadly cut short by the red weather alert) and would definitely return to Senafe and this lovely area of Cornwall.

Thank you for your feedback. The owners will be visiting the property in the coming weeks and returning some of the items that were removed due to COVID. - The Cornish Cottage Holidays Team. Property Owner

  • "This is a great cottage in a wonderful location."

It's five minutes walk to the beach/cafe across the dunes. You do have to walk along the road for a few minutes but it was very quiet (out of season) with good visibility and plenty of driveways to tuck into. The house was great. Very spacious. Spotlessly clean. A great back garden for the dog overlooking fields and on a very quiet street.

  • "Cottage was very well equipped."

We made great use of both the enclosed gardens for the children and dogs. The outside hot shower was a great added bonus after a day at the beach. A note with details on bin collection would have been helpful. All in all another great holiday booked through sykes.

  • "Wonderful holiday accommodation, particularly the outside space, the garden is totally secure to allow young children to run and play freely outside!"

We adored the beach, really big with lovely soft sand, and it’s super close which is really convenient for popping back to the house for lunch or the WC. We had a great week away and were really sad to leave! We hope to book to come back again in the future.

  • "Fantastic property, with a very well equipped kitchen."

Excellent location, just a five minute walk to an great surfing beach, which is dog friendly too. We had a fantastic week, the weather was great, helped by the onshore wind which never failed to blow back the clouds to show the sun, whilst inland it was still cloudy. We will be returning.

  • "You need to be aware that on arrival at 6pm the keys were not properly in the key safe on the outside wall, they were hanging through the bottom not n the lockable section."

The French windows in the lounge were unlocked as was the small conservatory. However , as always our stay in a Sykes property was excellent, relaxed and comfortable. One thing that would have been useful is info on how to use the appliances etc maybe a typed sheet laminate on the wall.but we got there in the end.

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your holiday at Senafe. Your feedback is really useful and the housekeeping team will make improvements accordingly. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful, contemporary cottage in an incredible location."

Well equipped, with a lovely secure garden for the kids & dog, the outside shower was a real bonus for sandy feet & paws. Being less than 5 minutes stroll to the beach and an easy walk to excellent cafes, restaurants & pubs was perfect. Bude is very close, with all the facilities you could need.... & yet more beaches. So many activities on offer locally too, we tried Canadian canoeing, kayaking, boogie boarding & surfing. A really great family holiday in a fabulous location.

  • "We’ve stayed in lots of holiday let’s throughout the country and this was by far the best - the added little extras, such as the mince pies and clotted cream on arrival!"

the spare toilet rolls and more than one dishwasher tablet (fantastic when you don’t have a dishwasher at home and therefore don’t want to buy a whole packet!) were small touches that made a real difference! Thank you for going the extra mile - it made the world of difference to us!!

  • "The bungalow is all I think anyone would want as a base for the Bude area, local beaches are just the best and surrounded by great countryside and pretty coastal villages."

The bungalow is very clean and well laid out with good bathrooms and all rooms for in our case a couple were of a good size but would work for a larger group easily Local food is a disappointment with only the Beach house 1/2 a mile away being the only evening meal out worth eating let along worth the money which is a shame for the area, I am sure there are other eateries but for me I never found one, As for Widemouth beach and the area I loved it and will be back for another holiday and if this bungalow is available I will look to rent it again

Set on one floor, the accommodation has a nautical, coastal vibe with a good sized living/dining room for social gatherings for relaxation and good food, with wood burner for extra cosiness.

The kitchen is smart with all mod cons and the little conservatory is a sunspot to retreat to with a book.

Enjoy restful slumber in the three comfortable bedrooms.

Dine alfresco in the garden, a safe haven for pets and children to play.

The outside hot water shower is great for rinsing away sandy toes or pet paws after a surf or walkies along the scenic coast path, before firing up the barbecue with a tipple in the evening.

About the location

WIDEMOUTH BAY

Bude 3 miles; Tintagel 16.6 miles

On the outskirts of Bude, this small coastal hamlet looks out over one of the area’s top surfing beaches. Famous for its rugged coastline, tumbling surf and excellent walking, it’s the place to relax and unwind. Lively Bude, with its town, beaches, clubs, pubs and resort attractions is 3 miles away, while to the north the Coast Path winds its way over the cliff tops toward the lonely lighthouse at Hartland Point, and on to the beautiful cliff side village of Clovelly. Take the main ‘Atlantic Highway’ north from Bude and you’ll also pass the Big Sheep and Milky Way theme parks, both great days out. If you love the countryside but don’t want to be too far from the holiday action, this is the place to stay.
