"Lovely cottage, well equipped, very spacious, nice outdoor areas."
Big downfall is cleanliness. Needs a deep clean. Pillows need replacing due to dirtiness. Putting pillow protectors on doesnt solve the issue only hides it.
Thank you for your comments. We will replace the pillows now. Property Owner

"The propety offers lots of space, even for a large family."
We liked its location and the peace and quiet. Excellent facilities provided, but as an elderly couple and the bad weather encountered, it could be cold in the evenings. The very helpful owners provided increased heat as was needed. We felt that a sound bar for the TV would be benefical, together with a larger, heavier front door mat. Otherwise great.

"We spent a lovely week at Agar Cottage."
The cottage is comfortable and provides everything you could need. Trelights is a Lovely peaceful village close to Port Isaac which is beautiful. We were able to visit many places during our stay. Tintagel, Boscastle, Truro, Falmouth, Polzeath which has a great flat sandy beach and many amenities. We also paid a visit to Healy's cyder museum which is about an hour away but well worth a visit. The owners called in to see how our week was going which was really nice. They were really freindly. I would recommend the cottage and we hope to visit again in the future. Thank you for a lovely week.

"Nice cottage good location."
Owner Mrs ogrady very nice. Not great having to strip the beds before you leave. As you pay a lot to rent the cottage.
Thank you for completing your feedback. The stripping of beds prior to guests vacating a property, is something that most guests are happy to do. In information sent to all guests by our letting agents, they ask guests to follow any instructions that have been left in the property with regards to the removing linen from the beds. "We had a lovely week at Argar cottage."
The cottage was well equipped and had everything you need for a relaxing holiday.Jill even left us a beautiful home baked bread and victoria sponge for our arrival. The cottage is in a very good location for seeing around Cornwall only 3 miles from beautiful Port Isaac which was the film location for Doc Martin we loved it. Steven and Margaret Moore.

"We found quite a lot of cobwebs behind the cubards and dust on the tv unit the cottage also had a musty smell when we arrived had to buy a can of febreze room and furniture spray to make the room more pleasant, we didn't feel as though the cottage had been cleaned before we arrived."
had we not paid so much for the holiday we would have left before the end of the week.

"The actual property itself was good, very sweet."
What let it down was the cleanliness. We are aware it’s a dog friendly property which our dog came down for the second half of the holiday. What you don’t expect is to sit on the floor with our baby to realise the rugs and sofas were thick with dog hair. The property was dusty with cobwebs all down the backs of the bedroom units. There were hairs in the Bath, sink and the shower. What made it worse is that the owner came to see us, realised we had a dog (it was a last minute thing my parent in laws came down for the second half) and proceeded to tell us we needed to pay £30 charge. I explained how we had to get the hoover out as it wasn’t cleaned before, to be told not worry on the charge as their hoover broke while cleaning before we arrived. To then get a call when we were back to say we didn’t leave it in an adequate state. Even though we washed and put every piece of cutlery away, stripped the beds like we were asked to (which when paying for them to clean it I don’t see why we should have to) and folded all the duvets up neatly. So would I recommend this place? No is the short answer, and if you do make sure you take photos of how you leave it as we felt she was very sneaky and actually embarrassed we told her how bad it was. The lady also baked us a cake for arrival and the irony is the joke of the holiday was it was a nice touch but would of been better to have a clean property!!

"Quiet location, comfortable, spacious and well equipped cottage."
Pleasant enclosed courtyard for dining and elevated, decked roof area for when the sun comes out.

"A character property old very well equipped and spacious The main problem was the heating which was inadequate for cold weather The heating was electric timed radiators downstairs but no radiators upstairs only fan heaters."
A higher rating would have been given but for the heating problem . Parking was also a concern it was described as off road but it was on the street/pavement not really satisfactory.
Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear you were unhappy with the heating at the property. We have a radiator in the hallway upstairs and also plug in heaters in all rooms. We also provide heated blankets on the beds for the colder evenings. We left you the remote that controls the heating throughout the cottage and we allowed you to control the water temperature as this was a birthday request. When we entered the cottage the water was literally boiling. As a result of all of this, the electricity bill for the week was nearly £200. We explain about the parking for the cottage in the welcome pack we send before your stay. The second off road parking is behind the cottage.. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay. "We had a fabulous week staying at Agar Cottage and it was very well-placed for us to ‘discover’ this beautiful part of Cornwall."
The cottage was warm and cosy, with comfy sofas and beds and more than enough space. The only slight downsides were: the tricky split-level kitchen layout which could prove awkward for those who like to cook lots while away. The downstairs shower room could also do with a refresh; the shower had some mould which needs treating, and this had also affected the net curtains in the cottage’s bathrooms. All in all though, we would happily return for a stay at the lovely Agar cottage. Many thanks to the generous owners for the special extras of homemade sponge cake and freshly baked bread. Thank you from Allen family :)

"The property was nice but it could do with a good dusting."
Especially behind the cupboards in the sitting room. I had to get the hoover out and use the nozzle to suck up all the cobwebs behind the cupboards. Also around the pictures and I had to dust the electric heaters. My son bumped his head on the kitchen door ways, above the bath, the archway upstairs and the bedroom with the step. There are no ‘mind your head’ signs. The uneven floor was not mentioned or I missed it in the description. But my granddaughter found it difficult going up and down the large steps. Shes only 18 months, and I was so worried she’d fall and crack her head on the tiled floor. The rubber seal in the washing machine was black with mould when I wiped it because it was smelling. Talking of smells, the cottage on entering smells damp. And the porch could do with a clean and lick of paint because that’s your first impression. I have pictures to go with my feedback. Thank you

"Agar cottage has been one of the best self catering places we have have had the pleasure of staying in."
Parts of it are over 400 years old so if you are over 6ft tall you would have to be careful but we enjoyed the space the comfortable bed and living room seating and it was extremely well equipped and the owners are delightful.

"We had a wonderful holiday at Agar Cottage!"
It was even better than the pictures showed - full of character and even more spacious. I’ve stayed at cottages which aren’t well supplied with kitchen equipment etc but the owners, Jill and Kit, had thought of everything and more - It had everything! They were also very prompt and helpful at replying to my questions throughout the wk, and gave excellent recommendations! The cottage is in great location - a very easy drive to the beaches and local villages. It was ideal for our young family. It is located in a really picturesque Cornish village - which was lovely and quiet - very relaxing! A truly wonderful holiday at a really lovely cottage. Would highly recommend.

"Cottage was lovely a great size for either 2 small families or 1 large, plenty of space."
Bathroom was a great size and having the use of the electric shower and other toilet downstairs was helpful. We didn't utilise the garden. We spent all week walking you can get to the South West Coastal Path within abut 1.5 miles and the walk to Port Issac is lovely if not a little steep on the way home.

Port Isaac, one of the undiscovered treasures of Cornwall. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century
