  • "We had a wonderful week in this beautiful barn conversion."

The owners have furnished and catered for your every need and were very responsive when we needed help with the settings on the heating and the tv. The cream tea and flowers were also appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend this holiday property.

  • "We had a lovely stay and the hosts were extremely helpful and very friendly."

We would have liked to have been able to have the dogs off the lead in the courtyard area but that is the only issue in what was an absolutely lovely holiday home. The fresh flowers and cream tea were a lovely surprise and appreciated,

  • "We had a wonderful stay with everything we needed and more at Mayfield view, including the endless supply of logs, for the log burner, at a minimal cost, delivered with a friendly and helpful presence with nothing being too much trouble, to ensure our stay was perfect!"

Sleep was undisturbed due to the peaceful setting, helped greatly by the comfortable beds, the tv a great size, and perfect for the open plan layout of the kitchen and lounge, the 2 en-suite bathrooms a great surprise with the size conducive to accommodating a bath and shower, offering pristine decor and quality fixtures and fittings! Due to our visit being in January, we didn’t make full use of the decking area with barbecue, table and parasol, which would have been in full flow, had the weather been a tad warmer! Quality accommodation and hosting, made for a quality stay! Thank you

It was perfectly placed for us to visit family in the area and to visit all the places we like to go to such as Tehidy Woods, Portreath, Marazion. The accommodation was comfy with everything we would need. Would defibately look to stay there again.

  • "Mayfield View is a beautiful property in a great location for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer."

The property owners are so welcoming and on hand if you need any help. Mayfield View is very much like home from home and is well equipped for your stay. It has well proportioned rooms and great outside space, which is safe for dogs and children. We would definitely return to this accommodation in the future and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to family and friends, although if we do this, this little gem will become very popular!

  • "The cottage was spotless."

It had absolutely everything you need for a very comfortable stay even things you’d think wouldn’t be in a holiday property! The road that the property was on was very busy and access out of the property onto a fast moving road was a bit scary so perhaps they need to make this safer by making it easier to see Truro bound traffic? All in all a fabulous stay - David and Sue were lovely and my children and my dog had a fabulous time as did we. Location was perfect too.

  • "Very well equipped house, lovely couple."

Really recommend this house. Definitely go to the Heron Inn for an outside meal looking over the river, was an amazing experience. Also go to Amy's restaurant for breakfast. Great base for going to St Ives, Lands End, Lizard, Truro etc. Definitely go to Godrevy to watch the sunset too.

  • "Have chosen “met expectations” because we have been to Mayfield View 6 times before and we love it."

Accommodation, setting, and welcome from Sue and David is always excellent. We had to stay at another holiday let the week before as Mayfield was already booked and we wanted 2 weeks. Immediately felt at home when we got to Mayfield view and also felt very safe with the Covid measures that were in place. The house was spotless. Would wholeheartedly recommend but don’t want to miss out on our booking again as it’s getting so popular - and for good reason. Will be returning. Thank you

  • "The cottage was superb, tastefully decorated, well equipped, cosy and warm."

Centrally positioned so many beaches and places of interest can be accessed easily. On arrival the owners Sue and Dave had provided a cream tea with accompanying tea, coffee and milk which was welcomed after our long journey. The owners had also provided logs, kindling, fire lighters and matches so that we could light the log burner and enjoy our first evening without having to go out and source these items. I would definitely recommend this cottage for people who want accommodation that is well placed , well equipped and in a quiet location but only 10 minutes from the nearest beach by car.

  • "Our holiday was just perfect in every way, the accommodation was superb, apart from the shower in the double bedroom not having a good flow of water."

If you want a fantastic place to stay that is in the middle of everything then look no further. It was comfortable, warm, clean, fresh and fitted with top notch fittings. We are definitely going to come back again.

Thank you very much for your comments, we're so pleased to hear you had a fantastic time and found it to be perfect! We've had a chat with the owner about the shower pressure. Although this shower is perfectly usable, we do agree it's not as strong as a power shower. Unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done to improve the pressure further, but as you'll see from the many other positive reviews it doesn't usually present too much of a problem. Thank you again for the kind review, we hope we'll see you again soon! Property Owner

  • "Had a marvellous time and cottage was extremely clean and comfortable."

Owners were extremely helpful and friendly. If I had to make any negative comments there were 2 minor issues. Firstly the Water pressure was quite low particularly affecting the shower and kitchen sink. Secondly, my husband had concerns when exitting the drive onto the main road as the exit is blind on a fast road. Neither of these issues affected our enjoyment of our holiday and the accommodation but thought they were worth mentioning.

The property

This immaculate barn conversion in a green and rural location is only minutes from the sea with the family friendly resorts of Porthtowan and Portreath within a 10 minute drive.

With lifeguards on duty in the summer months, these lovely beaches are great for swimming, surfing and building sandcastles.

Mayfield View is approached down a private driveway and sits in a tranquil spot behind the owners home.

The vaulted ceiling, wood burner and contemporary kitchen create a ‘wow’ factor space where relaxing, socialising, cooking and eating are priorities on the holiday menu.

Flanking the living space are two en-suite bedrooms which offer privacy for two couples or the perfect space for a family of four.

Pretty fabrics, crisp cotton sheets and fluffy towels are an added bonus.

There is a large private sun terrace with a built in barbecue and a small sheltered garden area where you can pick fresh herbs or tasty raspberries from the owners outdoor larder.

The resident cats and chickens take literally the ‘right to roam’ so visiting pets need to be aware! Mayfield View is near the coast to coast cycle trail - a purpose built trail of country lanes and runs between Devoran and Portreath.

Bike hire is available nearby at Bissoe - or you can bring your own bike which can be stored on site.

Dogs and walkers may also like to explore the myriad of footpaths that surround this region.

St Agnes is worth a trip with its cafes, galleries and pubs and lovely little beach with Truro and Falmouth worth a look too.

Mayfield View would suit a family of four or two couples that would appreciate the lengths the owners have gone to provide such a lovely holiday home and with the warming wood burner it is a great holiday home at any time of year.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
