  • "The view of the sunrise coming through the window, not to mention the seaview."

The short walk to the beach. We felt straight at home in the accommodation. Comfortable, clean with everything we needed. Definitely looking to come back.

  • "We had the loveliest of times at Sand Bar ."

...Thank you ....It really is glorious to be surrounded by the sound and sight of the sea ....We arrived during a storm, the waves were truly mountainous and the sound spectacular....We slept with our windows wide open so as to enjoy it ....Walking the coastal path is always a big part of our holiday and it really delivered , green cliffs , long sandy beaches galore and here it threw in several pretty little chapels ...The apartment was a delight ..It contained all of the basic requirements for our stay in a very uncomplicated way .....My only little niggle is that the Laundry on site was closed as part of the current restrictions and it would have been helpful to have been made aware of this fact prior to our arrival .....

  • "We had an amazing stay at the Sand Bar."

Everything we needed, we couldn't have wished for anything more. The apartment was cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Kitchen was well equipped with a fab cooker too. We especially enjoyed the amazing views of the beach and out to sea that this apartment had to offer. It was also very relaxing going to bed at night listening to the waves lapping the shore. We took our two small dogs with us and they certainly enjoyed it, lots of nice walks for them along the beach and down the Seaton Valley and of course they got to come out to the many dog friendly pubs with us. It was really nice to get away from it all, it was a nice weeks distraction from what's been going on in the world. Thank you for a lovely stay. Its just a shame that we didn't get to meet Roger and Cathy to thank them in person. We did leave a note though.

  • "Flat was lovely & also the views."

I'm disabled so found it a little difficult at times to get to car park & getting down to the beach. Apart from beach cafe & a pub there wasn't much else there to do. If you wanted to do anything you had to drive out of Seaton. Its a lovely little flat just too much out the way for me. It was my first time at Cornwall so I was not to no. Found some amazing places to visit & will be returning next year.

  • "Fantastic location, waking up to see the sea from our windows and to hear the waves on the beach."

Easy walking distance from beach. Could do with sorting out the hot water tap in the kitchen, a bit of a dribble, and fridge is going rusty. Other than that very happy with our stay.

  • "Very nice apartment."

Clean and tidy and comfortable. Lovely view. . The apartment is on one level but not suitable for anyone with accessibility needs as there are two steps onto the walkway to access the cottage. Village pub about 10 mins away, very dog friendly, food -good choice Plowmans very generous! Beach café just a few minutes away at the bottom of the slope, good variety of food. Dogs welcome in the conservatory , plenty of outside seating. Looe just a short drive away, lots of little shops and cafes, Polperro is a nice little village and a little further along ( via the main road) is Fowey , again a nice little village. I can't recommend Plymouth if you want a relaxing holiday its a warren to drive around and lots of building going on.

  • "Good base for visiting cornwall."

Car parking space included and marked out behind property. Shower is in the bath so any one with reduced mobility will need a hand to get in and out. Washing machine is not in the apartment but in a central lobby but accessible. Views over the beach are amazing and the sound of the sea wondeful. 5 minute walk to a dog friendly beach and local pub as well again dog friendly. Honeymoon spent here. Would recommend.

  • "When we arrived owners couldn't,t be bothered to come to reception, shouted instructions from first floor balcony."

Vynil Floor in chalet bathroom was very badly stained around the toilet. Most concerning aspect was the access to the car park which was not mentioned in the details. The car park which housed approx 20 cars was at rear off the complex up a one in four gradient ( very steep). It was a single carriageway with a 90 degree bend half way up. One way in, same way out. The access was bounded on both sides by thick high shrubs, it was extremely difficult to see if a car was coming down as you were going up and on two occasions we nearly had head on collisions with another car on the bend. We witnessed 3 other similar near misses. I accept that the location i.e. On a mount makes access difficult but would suggest that (a) the shrubs are kept very low so that you can see around the bend and/or (b) a traffic mirror is placed on the bend so you can see up the hill

About the location

LOOE

Liskeard 9 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
